The low science cognitif competency of students is caused by several problem encountered during the learning process, between the learning model that is applied has not involved students actively in the learning process. One of the efforts that is done to increase students' learning competencies in science is to apply the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map. This learning assisted by the Mind Map guides students to be active. This study aims to reveal the influence of the use of the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map to the learning competencies of science students. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 27 Padang. in material of KD 3.7 about Circulatory System. This research is an experimental research using the Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The study population was all grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. Sampling was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The control class used a conventional learning model which is commonly used in the class and experimental class using the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map. The research instrument used was a test of learning outcomes. The results of the t test were known that in the knowledge competency tcount> t table (2.76> 1.67). This showed that the hypothesis was accepted. So, it can be concluded that the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map has a positive effect on students' learning cognitive competencies in science.

Virtual Laboratory Integrated Guided Inquiry Learning Model to Improve Students' Concept Understanding and Metacognitive Skills Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the virtual laboratory integrated guided-inquiry learning model on students' concept understanding and metacognitive skills. Quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design was used in this study. The sample of this study was 56 students who were divided into 2 (two) parallel classes which were selected using the cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used were in the form of a concept understanding test and a metacognitive skill assessment sheet (LP) which had been declared valid and reliable. The research data were analyzed descriptively using the n-gain equation and statisticaly with the help of IBM SPSS 23 Version software. The results showed that students' concept understanding in the experimental group (mean = 79.19; n-gain = 0.76 in the high category) was better than the control group (mean = 43.08; n-gain = 0.36 in the medium category) and significantly different (p < 0.05). Students’ Metacognitive skills showed the same thing, the experimental group (meeting I = 54.69; meeting II = 67.86; meeting III = 79.24) was found to be better than the control group (meeting I = 46.09; meeting II = 53, 01, and meeting III = 55.13). The results showed that the virtual laboratory integrated guided-inquiry learning model was effective in improving students’ concept understanding and metacognitive skills in buffer solution chemistry learning subject.

Teachers and students still dominate the learning process at SMAN 1 Lingsar are even less active. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry learning model on students' chemistry learning outcomes. This study used quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) with a nonequivalent control group design pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were all Class XI IPA SMAN 1 Lingsar. The sampling technique used a quota sampling technique. The sample consisted of 2 classes, namely class XI MIA 1 as the experimental class and class XI MIA 4 as the control class. The instruments in this study were 3, namely: RPP, LKPD, and Tests. The test is carried out at the beginning of the meeting (pre-test) and the end of the session (posttest). The resulting data were tested using the ANCOVA test. The results showed differences in chemistry learning outcomes for students who took the guided inquiry learning model with those who took the conventional learning model. The results of statistical tests obtained a significance value of the learning model of 0.011. So because the amount of the Sig value is less than 0.05, H0 is rejected. It means a linear relationship between them with the average chemistry learning outcomes in the class that received the guided inquiry empowerment model higher than the control group. Furthermore, the covariance proved also to support the improvement of students' chemistry learning outcomes with a significance level of 0.000. It means that there is a linear relationship between the covariance and the dependent variable

Islamic values have been recognized as the positive values need to be integrated in enhancing learning competencies including problem-solving skills. This study aimed to determine the influence of learning inquiry model based on Islamic values toward problem-solving skills of tenth-grade students in Bandar Lampung. This quasi-experimental research used posttest only control group design. The treatment for the experimental group used guided inquiry learning model based on Islamic values, whereas the direct instruction learning model was applied in control group. The students’ problem-solving skills data were collected using a test. The data was analyzed using independent samples t-test. The results showed that there was a significant influence of guided inquiry learning model based on Islamic values toward students’ problem-solving skills, t(58) = 2.807, p < .05. The integration of Islamic values in the biology learning process can promote students’ problem-solving skills. Therefore guided inquiry learning model based on Islamic values can be an alternative model in empowering students’ problem-solving skills.
