The research is based on the problems that exist in SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung, the students’ Cognitive competency are still low. One of the efforts that is done to increase students’ Cognitive competency is to apply  the assigment to make a mind map before is applied the discovery learning on students VII grade learning competencies at SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung. This research  used a randomized control group-only design. The population is all student of class VII SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung registered in 2018/2019. Sampel was taken by using purposive sampling  technique and getting VII.1 as the eksperimen class, VII.2 as the control class. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test, can be concluded that the competence of learners knowledge tcount2,52>ttabel1,67. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. it can be concluded that the assignment create a mind map before applying the discovery learning gives positive effect on students knowledge competencies the VII grade at SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung Keywords: Mind Map, Discovery Learning, Cognitive Competency

This study aims to analyze the evaluation in Labschool UNTAD High School Palu. Research data obtained through essay tests and interviews. The cognitive competency test consists of 6 items that were discussed by interviewing 6 selected respondents. Analysis of research data using descriptive-qualitative research. The results showed that this study reached 61.10% or in the very poor category and the level of analysis only reached 25.92% or in the very poor category. Comprehensive analysis application. Better than analysis. From the results obtained can be obtained from students who are able to solve problems, applications that cannot solve problems, category analysis. ointment students, forget, there is no preparation before the exam, less maximum learning in class and no interest in physics.

The aim: The purpose is to elucidate the methodical system of formation of educational and cognitive competence of students of medical education institutions, the results of the research. Materials and methods: The approbation of the proposed methodology is analyzed, the results of the experiment were clarified. Using the methods of Student’s mathematical statistics, the effectiveness of the methodical system of formation of educational and cognitive competence of students of medical education institutions was determined, the results are reflected in tables and calculations. Results: With the purpose of solving educational and practical, scientific, educational and cognitive tasks, the types of activity of future junior specialists, which differ in the degree of obligatory fulfillment, are distinguished. It is shown that the realization of the cognitive principles of self-educational activity, which students perceive as their own internal need, is of great importance. Conclusions: After investigation of the impact of students’ self-educational activities on the formation of their educational and cognitive competence, we argue that it is the main component of the educational process, which requires a willful effort to overcome difficulties and is implemented through goal-setting, planning and staged implementation.

Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is based on the idea that mathematics is a human activity; and its main principle is to ensure the transition from informal knowledge to formal knowledge through contextual problems. This study aims at revealing how RME is configured in the minds of prospective mathematics teachers and their cognitive competency in that sense. For that purpose, at the end of the process, in which the approaches used in mathematical education including RME are examined and interpreted, 32 prospective teachers were asked various open-ended questions. Moreover, they were expected to pose contextual problems that could be used in RME. After analysing the obtained data via qualitative research techniques, it is seen that the majority of the prospective teachers possesses theoretical knowledge on RME. However, it is also observed that their ability to present its differences and similarities with other approaches and to pose contextual problems suitable to RME has been decreased.

The lack cognitive competency os caused by a problem when learning begins, in the learning model used does not involve active students in learning. How to overcome thatis done to increase the students' cognitive competency is to apply an guided inquiry learning model based environment at SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan in KD. 3.7 material interaction of living things with their environment. This research used a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population in this study were all student VII SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan. Sampel was taken by purposive sampling technique. The hypothesis testing using the t test. The results of data analysis in the research obtained in a cognitive competency that tcount>ttable (1.70>1.67). So, the conclusion of the guided inquiry learning model baased environment give a meaningfull effect on student' cognitive competency

Recent criticisms of the Rhodes Must Fall (RMF) Oxford campaign have problematized the presence of Black bodies within British higher education by reference to an ideal image of the impartial and discerning academy. In this article, I historically and intellectually contextualize the apprehension, expressed in the debates over RMF Oxford, that an intimate Black presence destabilizes the ethos of higher education. Specifically, I argue that much more than Rhodes’ statue implicates the British academy in the Empire’s southern African interests. I excavate a genealogy of academic debates regarding the effects of an increased proximity of Black presence to empire’s white spaces. These debates were initiated by social anthropologists in the interwar years primarily (albeit not solely) with regards to studies of southern Africa’s urbanizing spaces. What is more, such debates were highly influential to the study of ‘race relations’ in Britain’s postwar era of Commonwealth immigration. Critically, all these debates problematized the cognitive competency of African/Black peoples to inhabit white cultural spaces – including the academy – in ways that were not destabilizing of imperial order. Current campus campaigns such as RMF should not be evaluated against an ideal image of the academy. Rather, they form part of a continued confrontation with the afterlives of academic dispositions that were implicated in the imperial project that Rhodes was integral to.

Attitudes and behaviours towards the natural environment have been extensively studied in certain cultural settings during the last 40 years. In education, the teacher's ability to grasp the fundamentals of an academic subject may define his or her own attitudes towards that discipline; certainly the reverse is also valid. The correlations between affective and cognitive domains appear to play a significant role in teaching-learning dynamics. In this study we seek to assess whether the affective posture towards school sciences of a cohort of teachers in rural communities shows an association with their cognitive competence in the disciplines. The results of this study provide evidence that there is a statistically significant correlation between the cognitive and affective domains for in-service teachers. The affective domain, therefore, could serve as a predictor for cognitive competency and self-efficacy expectancies with respect to both content and career fulfilment.
