This study aimed to see the safety of OHIS (Oral Hygiene Index Simplified) in primary school students who got and did not get little dentist cadre training in Bangli Regency in 2019. The study was done in an experimental design: pre and post-test with control design, which was conducted in August-September 2019. The sample in this study is 366 students. The difference in OHIS scores before and after treatment in the control group and treatment group was carried out by the bivariate Mann Whitney U Test. The results of the study showed that before dental health training was conducted, there were 54.3% of primary school students in the treatment group with good OHIS score criteria, and after the training was carried out as many as 98.4% of the students in the treatment group had a good OHIS. Additionally, prior to the training, 57.5% of the control group had fair OHIS criteria score. Then, after the training was carried out, 73.7% of the control group had good OHIS score. Hence, the study concluded that there was a significant difference in the OHIS of primary school students who got little doctor training prior to and after the training. Also, there was a significant difference in the OHIS of the students who did not get such treatment before and after the training.

Height is a biological factor that can affect how others perceive and behave toward an individual. Clothing, as a non-biological factor, can affect these perceptions of height. In this study we investigated the effect of different professions' clothing on children's perceptions of height. One hundred and eighty primary school students participated in this study and estimated the height of an actor in the clothing of four different professions which differed in terms of prestige. The results of study showed that the difference between the perceived and actual height was larger when participants estimated the height of socially esteemed professions. Also there was no difference between girls' and boys' estimation of different professions' height. The implications of these findings are discussed.

The basic aim of present investigation is that to study the influence of role of medium in the development of child’s personality by academic stress and adjustment scales. Present study was undertaken to examine the level of academic stress and adjustment among Gujarati medium and English Medium School Students. For that purpose 120 students of class IX and X were selected randomly from different schools out of which 60 were taken from Gujarati medium school and the remaining 60 were taken from English Medium School. Abha Rani Bisht (BBS) scale for measuring academic stress was used to see the level of stress and Sinha and Singh Adjustment Inventory for school students was used to examine level of adjustment among the students. The data were analyzed by ‘t’ test and ANOVA were applied to check the difference in significance between the entire two mediums of instruction. The main and internal effect has been discussed.  Results indicated that level of academic stress was significantly higher among the English Medium school students where as Gujarati medium school students were significantly better in terms of their level of adjustment. Even though the ocean is a defining feature on Earth that regulates climate and provides oxygen, food, and jobs, students still have low to moderate marine and ocean literacy knowledge. Ocean literacy is an understanding of the ocean’s influence on people and people’s influence on the ocean. It is an emerging need necessary for ensuring the sustainability of the ocean and its resources. The UN has declared a Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, and one of the priority research and development areas is ocean literacy. Unfortunately, marine science and ocean literacy topics are poorly represented in school curricula across the world. This study presents the level of marine knowledge in a sample of primary school students before and after different themed non-formal educational interventions and the effect of non-formal educational activities on students’ knowledge. These activities led to significant increase in the knowledge level three weeks after they were performed, indicating the retention of gained information. Performed educational activities and knowledge transfer from graduate level to primary school level significantly increased the level of students’ knowledge, and consequently ocean literacy, and revealed some of the learning misconceptions. Results of this study show that there is a need for an integrated approach to the teaching of Ocean Literacy starting from the early grades by combining teacher’s professional development, strengthening ocean-related topics in school curricula, and promoting non-formal educational activities.

Students from selected Malaysian schools are currently learning Mathematics and Science in English under the DUAL Language Programme. They are exposed to additional hours of English compared to non-DLP ones. This paper investigates the extent to which the extra hours of English language exposure assist primary school students in grasping the morphological structures of English adjectives. The cross-linguistic differences in Malay and English could be one of the main reasons students face difficulties in acquiring English adjectives. Data were collated from two different Year 2 classes involving a DLP and a non-DLP group. Vocabulary Size Test (VST) measured the use of base form of adjectives while Comparative Adjective TEST were used for the comparative ones. Test scores were analysed to gauge the possible significant difference between the control and the experimental groups. The findings reveal that the mean scores for DLP group are not significantly higher than non-DLP group for both tests.

AbstractIn the fields of MINT (mathematics, ICT, natural sciences, technology), there is an increasing lack of young talent throughout Europe. It is clear that early exposure to scientific experiences is the key to motivating young people, especially girls, to develop an interest in these fields. The Erasmus + MINT “Kits for Kids” project is a current initiative for the design and production of integrated learning units as open educational resources for primary school students, of which there is a real demand. The main themes are learning media for primary education, such as simple mechanical machines, computer software, electrical appliances and related learning material. Our product, R4G—Robot for Geometry, is a device that can be used to teach mathematics, geometry and fractions. The aim is to improve performance and motivation from primary school level, using interactive and innovative teaching methods and tools. A second project, named EUWI—European Waste Investigation, is currently in progress, whose aim is to investigate water and pollution in the countries involved in the partnership.

The aim of the research was to identify the effectiveness of the different styles of video clips through flipped classrooms in developing the Tajweed skills of primary school students. The semi-experimental method was used to suit the nature of the research. The sample consisted of 50 students from the fifth-grade primary school of Abdullah bin Tariq Primary School. They were divided into two groups: the first group where a video style was used with a text equivalent, and in the second group a non-linear video pattern was used with a text equivalent across the inverted chapters. To test the validity of the hypothesis, the T-test was used by the SPSS. The results of the study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental groups in the test and the observation card due to the difference in the pattern of the videos/ Unaccompanied) text equivalent. Based on the findings of the research, the researcher recommended the use of the different style of videos through different chapters in the teaching of other subjects, and encourage teachers and educators to use educational videos through the flipped learning because of their impact on the development of skills and raise the level of achievement.
