Youth non-profit organizations are described con-sidering their participation in the modern political life of Russian society and their role in the political socialization of young people. The author raises the problem of formation and development of social elevators in the context of ensuring social mobility of young people, as well as the possibility of access to this tool in modern Russia. As part of the study of youth non-profit organizations, the author gave a charateristics of the organizations operating on a national scale, which have a media reputation, and develop projects focused on the vertical mobility of their participants. Arguments are given in favor of individual and collective social elevators within the framework of youth non-profit organizations. The conclusions presented in the study allow us to eval-uate the activities of youth non-profit organizations as a mechanism for changing the social status of an individual in the stratification structure of society, a channel for vertical social mobility, and prospects for further development of non-profit organizations in this direction.

The paper is devoted to an empirical analysis of the role of the Internet in the everyday reality of Russian youth. The author notes that the unusual speed of the Internet spread in the life of Russian society made the circumstances of growing up of modern young Russians very specific. In fact, they became the first generation of Russian “digital natives”. Growing up in the conditions of the rapid spread of the Internet in society, many of them are used to perceiving the Internet as a natural and inalienable attribute of everyday reality. The author uses materials of secondary data analysis and the data of his sociological research among Russian youth to determine the role of the Internet in the social reality of youth and to find out the possible risks and opportunities that it can create. The empirical basis of the study is a questionnaire survey conducted by the author in 2018 among the youth of the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia. The key conclusion of the article is that the Internet is deeply integrated into the social reality of modern Russian youth. The growing importance of the Internet in life is a source of a number of risks, which include the formation of Internet addiction, increasing the vulnerability of young people to destructive content and the formation of a communicative gap between representatives of different generations. The Internet can also be used to broadcast information to a youth audience, to organize cooperation among young people, to popularize good practices and for other purposes. The study aimed to mainly identify the role of non- profit organizations in building the capacity of their beneficiaries. The study relied on the social survey approach and used the questionnaire as a tool to realize the purpose of the study. The survey population was (1353) beneficiaries who attended the capacity building program, offered by five different organizations across the Kingdom. They were selected using the simple random sample (SRS) method. The study found a number of results, the most important of which was that the survey population believed that they benefited from the capacity building program in general. The study also showed statistically significant differences in the degree to which the trainees benefited from the capacity building program, according to the organization that offered the program. The study recommended several measures, the most important of which are: Non- profit organizations should develop programs that aim to develop and market the beneficiaries products and link them to e- commerce websites. Non- profit organizations should develop an electronic application to provide training, guidance and development programs in order to foster communication with beneficiaries to enable their capacity in a more impactful way.

Summary In democratic societies, citizens join as volunteers in the management of various areas of the social sphere. They do this by engaging in non-profit organizations’ activities. People are the basis for the functioning of these entities, so it is possible to use appropriately adapted HRM methods and tools. The important part of the social workforce of non-profit organizations is young people (up to the age -of 26). The article presents the results of research on the experiences of young volunteers - the characteristics of their involvement and their participation in personnel processes. The purpose of the article is to identify the number and types of third-sector organizations, which young people have been involved in, as well as the characteristics of work performed by them in those subjects. Moreover, the article’s aim is to diagnose of personal processes that these persons have been engaged in and to ascertain how do they evaluate their work experience in the organizations, which were analyzed.


The relevance of this article is due to the growing role of young people in the political life of Russia and in the transformation of the social, political and economic spheres. Young people are the moving force behind all major processes in any country. Concerning Russia, it should be noted that young people make up a third of the population. The way the problems of Russian youth will be solved will determine the current vitality and future of the country. The practice of the last decades convincingly proves that in the rapidly changing world, those countries that can effectively form and productively use the innovative development potential, the main carrier of which is young people, will have strategic advantages.

The important contribution of NGOs to the development and improvement of the socio-economic environment, as well as the integration of all segments of the population, was noted. The role of non-profit organizations in ensuring stabilization of the social and economic situation in rural areas, meeting the needs of the population and municipal authorities in fulfilling social obligations has been considered. The dependence of the intensity of the activity of NGOs in the municipal districts of the Novosibirsk region on the extension of the active activity of residents of settlements has been established, which has made it possible to economically justify the effectiveness of the development and functioning of non-profit social-oriented organizations.

Recently, the role of social responsibility in forming a company’s business reputation and achieving success in the market has been increasing. Many Russian corporations interact with non-profit organizations when implementing programs and projects in various spheres, including social, economic, and environmental. Based on the analysis of non-financial reporting of Russian corporations, joint programs of the commercial and non-commercial sectors on the example of four companies, operating in various sectors of the economy: PJSC “ Oil Company “Rosneft”, PJSC “VTB Bank”, PJSC “Mining and Metallurgical Company “Norilsk Nickel”, and PJSC “Rostelecom” have been described in the article. The result of this partnership is raising efficiency of social activities of companies, increasing their contribution to solving socially significant problems, improving the welfare of society, protecting the environment, and as a consequence, increasing the level of social responsibility of Russian business as a whole.

Subject. The article provides considerations on the formation and development of a successful person model in the modern Russian society. Objectives. The study is an attempt to model a successful person in the Russian society, when the ideological subsystem of the institutional matrix is changing. Methods. The study relies upon the theory of institutional matrices by S. Kirdina, theories of human and social capital. We focus on the assumption viewing a person as a carrier of social capital, which conveys a success, socio-economic position, social status, civic activism, doing good to your family and the public, confidence in people and association with your region. The empirical framework comprises data of the sociological survey of the Russian population in 2018. The data were processed through the factor analysis. Results. We devised a model of a successful person in today's Russian society, which reveals that a success, first of all, depends on the economic wellbeing and has little relation to civic activism. The potential involvement (intention, possibility, preparedness) in the social and political life significantly dominates the real engagement of people. The success has a frail correlation with constituents of the social capital, such as confidence in people and doing good to the public. Conclusions and Relevance. Based on the socio-economic wellbeing, that is consumption, the existing model of a successful person proves to be ineffective. The sustainability of socio-economic wellbeing seriously contributes to the social disparity of opportunities, which drive a contemporary Russian to a success in life.

Social media technologies have the potential to be powerful knowledge sharing and community building tools for both corporate and non-profit interests. This pilot study explores the social media presence of a group of forty-six Alberta-based non-profit organizations (NPOs) in this information rich space. In this paper we look at the pattern of presence of NPOs using social media and relationships with staffing structures.Les médias sociaux ont la capacité d’être de puissants outils de partage de la connaissance et de rassemblement communautaire pour les organisations à but lucratif et sans but lucratif. Cette étude pilote explore la présence dans les médias sociaux d’un groupe de quarante-six organisations sans but lucratif (OSBL) albertaines dans cet environnement riche en information. La communication portera sur les modèles de présence des OSBL dans les médias sociaux et les liens avec les structures organisationnelles.
