The article is devoted to the problem of distance education, namely training and educating under conditions of the pandemic. The issue of the coronavirus epidemic, which forced the urgent restructuring of all spheres of social life of people around the world, is addressed in the article. As a result, the problem of the global transition to distance learning under severe quarantine is becoming urgent. The author analyzes domestic and foreign pedagogical experience of distance education. Among domestic authors this problem was studied by Gorbatyuk R. M, Turanov Y. O., Rak V. I., Vdovenko I. S., Bodnar S. V., Dekusar G. G., Kuznetsova O. V., Opanasenko Ya. Foreign researchers (Amanda Morin, Berman Grace, and Dubinsky Alison) are more likely to point out that distance learning is associated with many difficulties. The aim of our study was to highlight the problem of distance learning in the quarantine period, its advantages and disadvantages over traditional learning, as well as a comparative analysis of the traditional and distance forms of educational activities. In the process of solving problems, theoretical research methods were used: analysis, systematization, classification of educational and methodological literature to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations of research, surveys, analysis of the products of the students’ pedagogical activities. The article presents data from the study of the groups consisting of first- and fifth-year students who studied in different periods: in the first half of 2019, when the study was in classrooms, and in the first half of 2020 during the quarantine, when the study was carried out using distance education. The data according to three criteria: academic success, students’ attendance and students’ satisfaction with the learning process were analyzed by the author. A comparative analysis of the traditional and distance learning is shown in the article. Some conclusions about the ambiguity of the impact of distance learning on different contingents of students have been made.

This paper focuses on the use of interactive technologies and distance learning in sustainable education. It discusses how remote learning technologies can positively influence students’ learning and entry in sustainable education. The paper looks at the use of distance learning in higher education as a means to help students in the built environment and its use within the education system. It studies and expands the theoretical research on the benefits of distance learning, where the study is remote and there is no personal contact with staff or students, and examines the impact of distance learning on the student’s learning experience. It also proposes and evaluates potential solutions to overcome the barriers to learning in the built environment and create successful virtual learning communities, recognising that such improvements must be reconciled with the primary benefits identified. The paper provides an overview of sustainable distance learning within higher education and discusses the differences between learning outside the structural environment of a profession, what it means for the student’s learning experience and the potential to overcome barriers to distance learning. This is a very timely topic in the times of COVID-10 pandemic. Lockdowns of the economy and social life impacted all spheres of education with schools and universities closed for long periods of time and all teaching moved to online and distance mode. However, coronavirus pandemic also brought the digital surge in the system of education, including the sustainable education. All these innovations might stay after the pandemic and help the education to evolve and to embrace more novel trends and technologies.

At the present stage of the development of world civilization, it is problematic to find a field of activity that is not affected to some extent by the consequences of the spread of a new coronavirus infection. The previously unthinkable situation has become a serious and critical test of readiness not only for the world health service, but also for educational institutions at all levels. General education schools, colleges and universities were forced to transform the education process into a new format, experimenting with mass “remote learning”. One can assert that the impact of the pandemic on education, including higher education, has radically changed its foundations. all educational institutions, including universities, found themselves in difficult conditions and were forced to adapt to the current events in a short time, spend significant financial and human resources for accelerated digitalization of education, trying to maintain the quality of education in the current conditions. Educational information and communication technologies, which seemed to be a form of education of the future, also changed their former essence and purpose. Universities were forced to solve many pressing issues in a short time: in what forms to conduct distance learning; what technical means to use for this; how to assess the assimilation of students of the material received; how to conduct final exams, defense of diploma projects, and how to conduct the enrollment for the next academic year. Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University did not stay away from the events. And if in March 2020, the university mainly conducted remote training on the Moodle platform, designed more for independent work of students, then during the second wave, the university successfully conducts distance learning on the modern Zoom platform. The purpose of the article is to show the experience of using the above-mentioned platform in teaching foreign languages, considering its advantages and disadvantages.

Introduction. To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical educational institutions have moved o quarantine with distance learning. It was implemented suddenly and imperatively, which can have long-term consequences not only in the form of a decrease in the quality of education, but also in the form of certain psychological problems for both students and faculty.Aims: to assess the impact of the forced transition to distance learning during the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection on the lifestyle and the degree of satisfaction with education of medical students.Materials and methods. A one-stage descriptive study was carried out in which 165 students of the 4th-5th year of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention, who studied remotely at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, took part in it. Among them, an anonymous survey was conducted, which included questions of lifestyle, degree of satisfaction and their opinion on the quality of education.Results. According to the results of the questioning, distance education influenced the lifestyle of the majority of the students surveyed — 32% began to get better sleep, 26% noted the appearance of sleep disorders. With regard to the nutrition of students, a similar picture is observed — 55% began to eat more regularly and balanced, 21% - ate excessively. Only 7.3% students are most actively involved in the distance learning process, most are periodically distracted (88.5%) or are engaged in other activities (4.2%). The theoretical component of distance learning was assessed by students quite high — 7.7 ± 2.4 points. However, the practical skills caused a lot of dissatisfaction were rated low 4.1 ± 2.4 points. Among the advantages of distance education — 92.7% singled out time and financial savings. Of the shortcomings — 86.1% indicated the lack of work with patients.Conclusions. The transfer of medical students to distance education entails not only a possible decrease in the quality of education and student motivation to study, but also a significant change in lifestyle.

This paper discussed the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning influences on adult learners. Distance learning has become popular in higher institutions because of its flexibility and availability to learners and teachers at anytime, regardless of geographic location. With so many definitions and phases of distance education, this paper only focuses on the delivery mode of distance education (the use of information technology), background, and its disadvantages and advantages for today’s adult learners. Overall, distance learning is increasingly becoming an alternative in education, industry, large corporation, and various government entities, by and large when students, employees are far and wide spread geographically within and outside that region in which the course has been taken place. As a result of this success, the benefits of distance learning have led many higher educational institutions to implement some distance learning classes, even if on an experimental basis. As a consequence, society in general may benefit from an overall increase in literacy through greater access to education (Belanger & Jordan, 2004). In the United States alone, 62% of public 4-year institutions offered some courses over the Internet in 1995, an increase of 150% over 1992 (National Center for Educational Statistics, 1997).

The author analyses domestic and foreign pedagogical experience of distance education. Among domestic authors, this problem was studied by O. Kuznetsova, E. Naumenko, O. Onishchenko. Actually, O. Kuznetsova highlights the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. Foreign researches highlight the technical problems of online education, as well as the problems that lie beyond the purview of technology. These are the problems as follows: student’s ability to communicate and play is limited by the environment within the Internet. These elements are critical to students' ability to develop their emotional and social intelligence. Teachers try to deliver personalised instruction to students in a virtual setting, and the responsibility, instead, falls to parents who may not be up to the task. Many students’ dormitories do not promote learning. The purpose of our study was to analyse the conditions of distance learning according to the following criteria: organisational and methodological support, technical support, psychological difficulties in accordance with the example of Odessa National O. S. Popov Academy of Telecommunications (ONAT). Thus, the availability of normative documents and provision of remote content has been analysed. 80 teachers and 150 students used the survey method and revealed that firstly, which online resources teachers most often use during distance education and secondly, what technical and psychological difficulties the participants of the educational process face. The data were analysed and fixed in the table.

This article proposes a research vision of the problem of using CLIL training in the context of distance education in schools and universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of the research devoted to the content analysis of the integration of CLIL learning and distance learning technologies, as well as the need to identify the features and universal problems, characteristic of the practice of CLIL learning in distance learning format. The diagnosis of this problem was carried out through an online survey of school teachers and university teachers acting as experts on the implementation of CLIL training in educational institutions of the Republic. To develop a methodology and tools for online survey of teachers scientific works in the field of CLIL training and distance education technologies on the creation of educational resources and a virtual learning environment and on the sociology of education were studied. When processing the results of the survey, we used statistical and descriptive research methods. The results of the online survey confirmed the hypothesis of the study that the main problem of using CLIL technology is the problem of resource provision of the CLIL training program in the context of distance education, as well as the level of methodological and IT-training of school teachers and university teachers. Other features of using CLIL technology in a distance format are as follows: the school teachers and university teachers have an appropriate set of basic competencies of a teacher practicing CLIL training, and, at the same time, their insufficiency for the implementation of the educational process in the context of distance education and, accordingly, the need to acquire additional competencies required by the teacher for the application of CLIL technology in a distance format
