This study will elaborate on the form of mappaja' trading, which is considered as an attractive economic issue as in its transactions, people do not use a system of weighing scales in trading their harvests, but with a cost estimation system for the goods. Therefore, in the trading practice, there is often a discrepancy between the harvest and the buyer’s expectation, because it may contain an element of gharar/obscurity of the goods, which can lead to an invalid transaction and harm one of the parties. This study indicated that the practice of mappaja' for agricultural commodities has occurred for a long time. The mechanism is by estimating the number of plants based on mutual trust and responsibility. The agricultural commodities used as the mappaja' objects are cloves and vegetables (carrots, cabbage, and tomatoes). The payment method in mappaja' practice is carried out in two ways, namely full payment and twice payment. Twice payment refers to the transaction where half of the payment was handed over on the agreement as a down payment and a sign of completion, then the rest of the payment were handed after the harvest. The condition of the plant is ready to harvest or not ready for harvest in the transaction of mappaja’. The rights and obligations of both parties are that traders are obliged to make payments to farmers according to the agreement and for the farmers, they have to keep taking good care of the plants if at the time of the transaction the condition of the plants is still not ready for harvest.

The agricultural commodity prices have a volatile nature which may increase or decrease inconsistently causing an adverse effect on the economy. The work carried out here for predicting prices of agricultural commodities is useful for the farmers because of which they can sow appropriate crop depending on its future price. Agriculture products have seasonal rates, these rates are spread over the entire year. If these rates are known/alerted to the farmers in advance, then it will be promising on ROI (Return on Investments). It requires that the rates of the agricultural products updated into the dataset of each state and each crop, in this application five crops are considered. The predictions are done based on neural networks Neuroph framework in java platform and also the previous years data. The results are produced on mobile application using android. Web based interface is also provided for displaying processed commodity rates in graphical interface. Agricultural experts can follow these graphs and predict market rates which can be informed to the farmers. The results will be provided based on the location of the users of this application.

The food-energy nexus has attracted great attention from policymakers, practitioners, and academia since the food price crisis during the 2007–2008 Global Financial Crisis (GFC), and new policies that aim to increase ethanol production. This paper incorporates aggregate demand and alternative oil shocks to investigate the causal relationship between agricultural products and oil markets. For the period January 2000–July 2018, monthly spot prices of 15 commodities are examined, including Brent crude oil, biofuel-related agricultural commodities, and other agricultural commodities. The sample is divided into three sub-periods, namely: (i) January 2000–July 2006, (ii) August 2006–April 2013, and (iii) May 2013–July 2018. The structural vector autoregressive (SVAR) model, impulse response functions, and variance decomposition technique are used to examine how the shocks to agricultural markets contribute to the variance of crude oil prices. The empirical findings from the paper indicate that not every oil shock contributes the same to agricultural price fluctuations, and similarly for the effects of aggregate demand shocks on the agricultural market. These results show that the crude oil market plays a major role in explaining fluctuations in the prices and associated volatility of agricultural commodities.

In order to be cost competitive in the consumer electronics industry, it is needed to estimate product costs earlier in the design phase. In this study, we reviewed quality and quantity cost estimation techniques to develop a cost estimation system. The qualitative cost estimation technique is used to store expert's knowledge in the form of rules or a decision tree, and quantitative cost estimation techniques is used to extract a similar cost basis based on historical cost data of products. Also, we developed a cost comparison system using these two methods.

AbstractThis study aims to describe the production sharing system in agriculture, especially in the Citrus nobilis plant, and its benefits in community life. The profit-sharing system is a form of cooperation that has existed and been carried out by the village community for a long time. In the profit-sharing system, there are various cooperation mechanisms between landowners and tenants. The cooperation mechanisms include Maro, Mertelu, and Merpat. The research in this article is a qualitative research conducted in Tegalsari Village, Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency. Data collection was carried out by interview and observation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the cooperation agreement with the profit-sharing system not only improves the economy, but also fosters solidarity and social integration in society. This is evidenced by a sense of care, mutual trust, and mutual assistance between landowners and tenants when experiencing difficulties. Even so, the participation of other parties such as the government is still needed so that good relations between the two parties can be maintained. Keywords: Agriculture, Profit Sharing, Solidarity, Social Integration.

One agricultural commodity that has high economic value is the clove "Eugenia Aromatica". The many benefits obtained from cloves, making clove commodities sell well in the market due to of high demand. Therefore, the amount of clove production must be able to balance the market demand in order to keep price stability stable. However, post-harvest handling of cloves at the farm level is generally conventional. This has caused problems including long working time (ineffective), the risk of clove quality decreases, and causes discomfort to the skin of workers' hands due to friction of the clove flower for long time. Hence, it is necessary to conduct IbM – “Ipteks bagi Masyarakat” (Science and Technology for Communities) activities in utilizing clove flower separator machines for farmers in Bonto Village, Enrekang. The stages of the implementation of the IbM activities were observation to the farmer groups in Bonto Village, procurement of clove flower separators, conducting training to operate the clove separator mechine and counseling how to do mechine maintenance to farmers in Bonto Village. The results obtained from this community service activity are that clove farmers in Bonto village are able to work more effectively and efficiently in the process of separating clove flowers from their stems so that the production of cloves increases with good quality.
