Many Muslim leaders, entrepreneurs, and managers in Malaysia successfully apply the Al-Quran and Sunnah to their business organizations. In an organization, Islam stresses the cooperation and sense of collectiveness among the employees, as in fact, the religion cannot be practiced in separation. The collective efforts of people in a work situation should be aimed at achieving a certain goal since organizations are composed of very distinct people who are each of unique character and contribute in a particular way based on cultural diversity. In order to create an ethical organization culture that provides a fair treatment to all employees, Islamic leadership principles would become the best method for realizing it. Many verses in the Al-Quran explains justice and honesty in trade as well as courtesy and fairness in employment. In succession, managers should follow many values and norms in Islam as regards the practice in the organization.

Daniel Markovits of Yale Law School reviews “Blind Spots: Why We Fail to Do What's Right and What to Do about It” by Max H. Bazerman and Ann E. Tenbrunsel. The EconLit Abstract of the reviewed work begins “Examines the gap between how ethical we think we are and how ethical we truly are and the ethical blind spots that perpetuate these beliefs. Discusses the gap between intended and actual ethical behavior; whether traditional approaches to ethics will save you; when we act against our own ethical values; whether we are as ethical as we think we are; when we ignore unethical behavior; placing false hope in the “ethical organization”; why we fail to fix our corrupted institutions; and narrowing the gap--interventions for improving ethical behavior. Bazerman is Jesse Isidor Straus Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. Tenbrunsel is Rex and Alice A. Martin Professor of Business Ethics in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Index.”

Remote and hybrid working models and accelerated digitalization of the human resources processes were introduced in most organizations worldwide as a consequence of the COVD-19 pandemic. This digital revolution at the workplace was forced by extraordinary circumstances, thus its impact had not been anticipated before. This motivated the authors to study the new work reality. The research was based on a hypothesis that the digitalization of work and the human resources processes, approaches organizations to the sustainable development ideal. Sustainability is here understood as maintaining a balance between economic, environmental, and social factors. The authors analyzed the impact between the digital processes and the way of working on the following areas: CO2 emissions, creating plastic waste, saving energy, creating a gender-diverse and inclusive workplace. To verify the hypothesis, the authors used their own original and desk research. The original research was conducted within a Berlin-based tech startup between March 2020 and August 2021. Additionally, the authors ran surveys among international startups and scale-ups. Based on their findings the authors concluded that there can be a positive correlation between digitalization and increased organizational sustainability. This result is significant not only for the human resources specialists but can indicate a direction for a general business strategy.

The last decades’ serious organizational scandals that mainly stem from corruption and conflicting interests but also from bribery, favoritism and other wrongdoings have ac-centuated the need for finding instruments for achieving more ethical organizations and management. Ethics management is particularly important in the public sector because public employees and holders of public office are responsible for increasing wellbeing and providing common good for all citizens. Only accountable management striving for integrity through ethical practices and decision making will guarantee ethical organiza-tional behavior. In spite of increasing research on ethics in general and ethics manage-ment in particular, increase in organizational scandals indicates that there is knowledge gap concerning ethical instruments that help to solve ethical problems. The aim of this paper is to shed light on ethical theories and instruments, and wrongdoings in public sec-tor organizations. The main questions are; why is there so much wrongdoing; how can it be reduced; and how can more ethical organization and management be achieved. This is a review paper aiming to provide a review of ethical theories and instruments and dis-cuss serious wrongdoings and the role of ethics in the public sector. The paper contrib-utes to the fields of management and organization, ethics, and public management.

ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN DECISION-MAKING IN EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS: MANAGEMENT PARADIGMS ABSTRACT Ethics focused properly on organizations denotes the fundamental point to make decisions. A paradigm emerges from which arise direct and indirect implications whose impact is permanent. The objective of this article is to determine the incidence of ethical dilemmas in management decision making. For this, a bibliographic search was carried out according to inclusion and exclusion criteria in the databases of Redalyc and SciELO. We extracted 816 articles related to the topic, selected 18 for review and application. The way in which the decision of the organizations can be made is of vital importance and is found in the ethical characteristics with which the Organizational Director counts. The ethical dilemmas infer in the decision making due to the moral dilemma they represent. Thus, the dilemmas become part of a contradiction between the practice and deontological training of the representative of the organization, therefore, it is essential for the actions and the effects that directly imply in the development of the company. The managers of the organizations are responsible for making decisions, for example, on the responsibility of any activity that becomes a reality. Finally, ethical decision making has an intrinsic relationship with reputation and image before the market. KEYWORDS: ethical; organization; decision; management.
