Remote and hybrid working models and accelerated digitalization of the human resources processes were introduced in most organizations worldwide as a consequence of the COVD-19 pandemic. This digital revolution at the workplace was forced by extraordinary circumstances, thus its impact had not been anticipated before. This motivated the authors to study the new work reality. The research was based on a hypothesis that the digitalization of work and the human resources processes, approaches organizations to the sustainable development ideal. Sustainability is here understood as maintaining a balance between economic, environmental, and social factors. The authors analyzed the impact between the digital processes and the way of working on the following areas: CO2 emissions, creating plastic waste, saving energy, creating a gender-diverse and inclusive workplace. To verify the hypothesis, the authors used their own original and desk research. The original research was conducted within a Berlin-based tech startup between March 2020 and August 2021. Additionally, the authors ran surveys among international startups and scale-ups. Based on their findings the authors concluded that there can be a positive correlation between digitalization and increased organizational sustainability. This result is significant not only for the human resources specialists but can indicate a direction for a general business strategy.

Much has been written about the link between HR and performance, however consensus has yet not been found concerning the understanding on how that relationship comes together. Empirically, no direct impact has been found and research has only suggested an indirect impact. Consequently, the Strategic HRM field is particularly interested on the understanding of the mediating variables that impact the organization performance. Besides the integrated and business strategy alignment of the HR function, it should be considered that it is the people (HR) of the organization and not their practices that determine the company´s competitive advantage. (Messersmith & Guthrie, 2010) argue that it is the impact of those practices that represent “the true resource and enable a sustainable advantage over industry rivals”. The objetive of this research proposal is to study the impact of strategic human resources practices on the organization performance through a case study methodology, supported by longitudinal data. Namely, the project aims to achieve a deeper understanding of the variables that affect the process stream during strategy implementation. How the HR practices impact on people? And why human resources are the most valuable asset? These core premises are in line with the most recent economic concerns about people productivity, employment policies and labor flexibility.

This paper studies the impact of factors affecting on business strategy implementation of Vietnam garment companies. A total of 192 questionnaires were administered to respondents chosen from 82 Vietnam garment companies. The findings indicated that there is a significant positive relationship between 05 factors: Strategy formulation-Human resources-Communication-Corporate culture-Organizational structure and business strategy implementation from the sample point of view.

PurposeDue to global trade and transportation, the COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly reached all corners of the world; it has most impacted the poor communities and rural areas with limited or no access to recovery. This paper aims to understand the pandemic's impact on the market supply of vegetables (agrifood) in Ethiopia and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa and to implement scientifically based recommendations that can improve the challenges caused by the pandemic and improve the livelihoods of vegetable producers.Design/methodology/approachThis study assessed the major incidents that follow the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ethiopia with the factors that significantly influence onion market supply in the Mecha district of Northwestern Ethiopia using linear multiple regression.FindingsThe study revealed that producers, processors, local collectors, cooperatives, wholesalers, retailers and consumers are the main actors. The most important difference that happened on the onion market channel after the outbreak of coronavirus was brokers were removed from the market channel after the pandemic and this saved the cost producers pay as a commission. The pandemic disrupted input distribution, extension and cooperative services and created labor scarcity. Access to market, postharvest value addition, price and marketing contract were significant factors that influence the market supply of onion. The study identified the need for policy interventions by the government to overcome the postpandemic challenges and ensure the sustainable development of onion production and marketing in the Mecha district.Research limitations/implicationsThe limitations of the study are primarily related to the methodology as data are collected at a single moment in time. However, the study observes that those changes after the pandemic are better understood if we collect data at different time. Therefore, the future study needs to provide longitudinal data to examine stability of response and to observe performance of the market that occur over time.Originality/valueThis original research is the first to study the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Northwestern Ethiopia. The data used in the analysis are primary.

Sustainable Business Models (SBM) have been seen as a suitable vehicle for organizations to convey sustainability. The SBM requires a company's business strategy to be shaped around sustainability goals. These goals can be integrated into the business strategy by creating an internal commitment focused on sustainability. Enablers play a crucial role in this integration process. The 2030 Agenda issued by the United Nations set clear goals on sustainable development, i.e. the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Firms are encouraged to design SBM to fulfil these goals. Yet, an extensive investigation of the effect of the SBM applications on the SDGs is lacking. This paper is based on a semantic analysis of the relevant literature. The results show the internal enablers that support the integration process of sustainability into the organization's strategy. In addition to that, the underlying classification process highlights the clusters of applications for the SBM. These are, in turn, mapped over the SDGs to show the impact of each cluster on each SDG.

<p>The current situation that business organizations now is featured by different changing and developing work environment with difficulty and risk in achievement of their sustainability, continuity and success in addition to the existence of a set of great and extended challenges and competition, therefore, the organizations seek to keep pace with development through creation of ability to better use their provided resources in order to achieve sustainability and create the competitive advantage that makes them superior to the competing organizations.</p><p>The occurrence of a set of phenomena in the knowledge economy had an obvious reflection on the business organizations that started to search new mechanisms for competition and ensure survival, continuity and create the added value through using the value chain model and focusing on the main and supportive activities in this model. The role of human resources management activities was appeared as supportive activities and an essential requirement to deal with these great challenges either they were local, regional or international where the human resources activities represent the main generator to produce new ideas, development of old ideas and the participation in supporting the main activities of the organizations, enabling them to expand its market share, maximize the organization value making it in a position through which it will be able to seize the opportunities, achieve the competitive advantage, survive, continue in the current market and think to find future markets to serve customers and realize their satisfaction.</p><p>This study comes with the purpose to demonstrate the impact of human resources management activities adopted in the value chain model on organizational sustainability with its different dimensions in the Jordanian environment.</p>

The field of entrepreneurship is fundamentally concerned with opportunity-seeking behavior. Entrepreneurship is a process involving the identification of business opportunities, evaluation of the payoff from such opportunities, and investment of resources in the exploration and exploitation of opportunities that have the potential to create value. This process is most often attributed to the activities of individuals or small teams forming new business ventures, with established firms more often associated with the advantage-seeking approach emphasized in strategic management. However, the entrepreneurial process may occur within new, small, or large firms. The study of entrepreneurial firms thus includes three domains. First, independent entrepreneurship, considering the formation and early growth of new business ventures. Second, corporate venturing, where established firms internally develop new business ventures and/or provide resources and support to independent entrepreneurs. Third, strategic entrepreneurship, concerning the integration of entrepreneurial opportunity-seeking and strategic advantage-seeking approaches in the formulation and implementation of business strategy. A fourth domain also considers the context in which entrepreneurial firms operate, examining the environmental conditions that facilitate or inhibit opportunity-seeking behavior and the impact of entrepreneurial firms on economic development. This article aims to synthesize the current body of literature on entrepreneurial firms with reference to these three organizational contexts and the environmental contingencies of entrepreneurial firms. General resources are presented first, including textbooks most suitable for introductory reading or undergraduate study and the leading journals publishing peer-reviewed original research. Key topics in each research domain are then discussed, with notable empirical studies and review articles provided for further reading. Future research streams are also suggested.

The Corona virus pandemic exploited by irresponsible elements.  They do a cunning business strategy, which is to hoard goods, in fiqhi terms known as iḥtikār. In the Islamic view, iḥtikār is a prohibited business practice and will be met with a painful punishment in the afterlife.  The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding about the impact of COVID 19 on the practice of buying and selling (iḥtikār).  This paper uses qualitative research methods in the form of library reseach using the shar'i approach.  From this study it can be concluded that the behavior of hoarding goods with the aim of reselling them at high prices to obtain large profits.  In Islamic Shari'ah, iḥtikār‘s law is haram because it contains elements that harm others.  This is very clearly stated in QS al-Humazah/109: 1-2 and punished by sin as stipulated in the hadith of the Messenger of Allah.
