Abstract A full factor experiment (FFE33) of transporting bulk materials by a tubular scraper conveyor on a curved track was conducted. There were derived the regression equation dependencies of production and torque on pipe diameter, fill factor and linear velocity. The graphical dependence of production and torque on the above-mentioned factors was constructed, and regression coefficients for different materials were determined.

AbstractThe area of individual leaves in oil palm has been conventionally estimated from a regression equation that is based on the size and number of leaflets. The aim of the present study is to verify the accuracy of this equation, which became standard in oil palm research. Therefore, true leaf area, measured with a video camera, was estimated from the product of number of leaflets per leaf (n) with mean length (l) times mid-width (w) of six of the longest leaflets (nlw). The database was assembled, annually for the first 4 years after planting, from 2961 leaves of dura × pisifera testcrosses descending from six distinct pisifera origins. The regression coefficients of the regression lines of nlw plotted against true area did not show a trend with age of the palms or a difference among pisifera origins. The common regression equation fitted through all data of this study accurately estimated true leaf area of the testcrosses and also the areas of 2- to 3.5-year-old dura palms of three distinct origins as well as 18-year-old tenera palms. These outcomes are at odds with the conventional regression equation that overestimates the true leaf areas by about 24%. A more recently-developed variant underestimates true area of the young tenera and dura palms by 28%, while overestimating true area of old tenera palms by 19%. Possible causes for these deviations from true area are discussed. The paper argues that parameters depending on leaf area of previous physiological studies need to be reassessed.

Investigations of pneumatic transport of bulk materials used in shipbuilding have carried out. Their abrasiveness, wear of straight and curved sections of pipelines were investigated. Theoretically, the dependences of the amount of wear on various factors were defined: abrasiveness and concentration of transported particles, flow rate, pipe diameter and wear resistance of its material, structural and operational features of the transport system, etc. Formulas for determining the maximum useful life of straight and curved sections of pipelines are obtained. Theoretical results confirmed experimentally.

Anti-crisis analytical procedures the financial stability of trade enterprises (hereinafter – AP FS) are part of the internal financial audit of economic activity. The system of financial monitoring is practically acceptable for the implementation of AP FS. The developed classification allows to determine the ability of the enterprise to implement AP FS. An analytical method has been developed that allows, based on the analysis of the financial condition and multivariate forecast, to develop measures to ensure the financial stability of the trade enterprise continuously. By interpolation, the study of the current financial situation, and extrapolation – a multivariate forecast, the numerical value of the integrated (complex) indicator that characterizes financial stability is determined by the regression equation, including factors listed in the classification, the significance of which is determined by regression equations. Based on the analysis of the numerical values of the regression coefficients, it is possible to determine the most important factors that affect the financial stability of trade enterprises, and those that have almost no effect on it. Components with significantly small numerical values of the regression coefficients can be generally discarded. This will reduce the number of indicators that affect financial stability and thus, you can reduce the number of components in the regression equation to the two three most important, which allows you to solve the problem of optimization. The expediency of using integrated and complex indicators is shown. The obtained results are only an information basis for the economic administration of the trade enterprise in making management decisions, the formation of long-term plans. The developed approaches to assessing the financial stability of enterprises are universal and can be used for enterprises in other sectors of the economy.

In this article, the investigation of the use of a rolling particle damper under sinusoidal excitation is described. A rolling particle damper is a type of ball vibration absorber and consists of a rotating cylinder placed on a curved track mounted on a primary system. The rotating cylinder is partially filled with granular materials. When the rotating cylinder rolls inside the curved track, the granular materials also move. The friction between the granular materials and the inside wall of the rotating cylinder results in some energy dissipation. A rolling particle damper can be adopted in a harsh environment because it can be operated in a wide temperature range. The effects of the mass ratio, the particle material, and the particle diameter on the damping performance were examined experimentally. To elucidate the behavior of the entire system in detail, a numerical solution using the discrete element method was established. The predicted damping results were compared with experimental results for various mass ratios. In addition, the effect of the frequency ratio on the highest displacement amplitude of the primary system was examined referring to the numerical results.

Abstract One of the most effective transportation systems especially for bulk materials is continuous conveyors. They enable to transport materials quickly, economically and with rather simple means of handling. On the other hand for transportation needs involving steep grades and elevations, bucket type elevators are suitable especially for granular materials. In this study a computer program has been developed in order to provide a computer aided design tool for both bucket type elevators and belt conveyors. Operation of the program is interactive. Thus, some critical decisions during the design can be made by the designer, himself. The program has been written in BASIC programming language for Macintosh Plus personal computers. It can be also used in Macintosh II computers. The computer program standardizes all design results and the design conforms the relevant TSE, DIN and ISO standards. All standard tables used in the program, are available in the database. The database can be easily edited and updated. A design report can also be obtained at the end of the design as well as the screen output of the design session.

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the trade a problem learning model by rewarding students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental research by determining one class of research samples taken randomly as the experimental class. In this study the method of data retrieval is carried out by applying to an experimental class a treatment condition. The population in this study were all VII grade students of SMP N 1 Gunung Malelala. The results show a strong relationship between the Trade A Problem learning model and reward for students' communication skills. Based on the results of the calculation of the regression equation the equation 𝑌̂=27,87+0,64𝑋 is obtained. In this equation the regression direction coefficient (b) = 0.64 is positive, which means that the two variables have a positive linear relationship. Keywords: trade a problem, mathematical communication skills.

With the same recipe and technological conditions, experimental research on fill factor about rubber compound of all-steel radial tire was conducted in four types of X(S)M-1.7L mixers: intermeshing rotor mixer, variable intermeshing clearance mixer, shearing rotor mixer and variable shearing clearance mixer. Based on the summary and analysis of experiments, the authors discussed the influence of fill factor on performance of internal mixers and physical and mechanical properties of the rubber compound. And the optimal values of fill factor of different types mixer were determined.

An inner-pipe charging construction can be constituted by putting different materials with different internal diameter on the axis of the rock-gel explosive. Then the explosion velocity can be measured and the effect of inner-pipe to explosion velocity can be analyzed. The results show that explosion velocity of water-gel explosive changes in a mode of rising first and falling later with the increase of inner-pipe diameter and the charging ratio varies with different inner-pipe materials.
