Abstract Reinvestigations of the Li2O–Al2O3 system focused on the synthesis and properties of LiAlO2 and Li3AlO3 phases have been performed with the help of XRD and IR measuring techniques and Li2CO3, LiOH·H2O, Al2O3-sl., α-Al2O3, Al(NO3)3·9H2O and boehmite as reactants. Results of investigations have shown the formation of α-, β-, and γ- polymorphs of LiAlO2. It was found that only the use of LiOH·H2O as a reactant yields to β-LiAlO2 as a reaction product. On the other hand, it was proved that Li3AlO3 does not form in the Li2O–Al2O3 system. A new method for the synthesis of α-LiAlO2 was developed, consisting in grinding the mixture of Li2CO3 and Al(NO3)3·9H2O and heating the obtained paste at the temperature range of 400–600 °C. The IR spectroscopy was used to characterize obtained phases.

The properties of both Cu2+ and Cu+ ions in zeolite CuY were followed with NO and CO as probe molecules. Cu2+ was found to be located in SII, SII*, and SIII sites, whereas Cu+ was found in SII and SII* sites. The fine analysis of the spectra of Cu2+-NO and Cu+-CO adducts suggests that both in SII and in SII* sites two kinds of Cu cations exist. They differ in the positive charge, which may be related to the varying numbers of AlO4− in close proximity. The experiments of NO and CO adsorption and desorption evidenced that both Cu2+ and Cu+ sites of highest positive charge bind probe molecules most strongly but activate them to a lesser extent than the Cu sites of lowest positive charge. The experiments of reduction with hydrogen evidenced that the Cu ions of higher positive charge are first reduced by hydrogen. On the other hand, Cu sites of the lowest positive charge are first oxidized by oxygen. The experiments with CuNaY zeolites of various Cu contents suggest that the first introduced Cu (at low Cu contents) created Cu+, which was the most neutralized by framework oxygens. Such Cu cations are the most stabilized by framework oxygens.

During the last few years of his life Prof. Simon Newcomb was keenly interested in the problem of periodicities, and devised a new method for their investigation. This method is explained, and to some extent applied, in a paper entitled "A Search for Fluctuations in the Sun's Thermal Radiation through their Influence on Terrestrial Temperature." The importance of the question justifies a critical examination of the relationship of the older methods to that of Newcomb, and though I do not agree with his contention that his process gives us more than can be obtained from Fourier's analysis, it has the advantage of great simplicity in its numerical work, and should prove useful in a certain, though I am afraid, very limited field. Let f ( t ) represent a function of a variable which we may take to be the time, and let the average value of the function be zero. Newcomb examines the sum of the series f ( t 1 ) f ( t 1 + τ) + f ( t 2 ) f ( t 2 + τ) + f ( t 3 ) f ( t 3 + τ) + ..., where t 1 , t 2 , etc., are definite values of the variable which are taken to lie at equal distances from each other. If the function be periodic so as to repeat itself after an interval τ, the products are all squares and each term is positive. If, on the other hand, the periodic time be 2τ, each product will be negative and the sum itself therefore negative. It is easy to see that if τ be varied continuously the sum of the series passes through maxima and minima, and the maxima will indicated the periodic time, or any of its multiples.

This article will discuss hermeneutics as a new method of interpreting the Qur'an.The use of hermeneutics is a new thingin the world of interpretation. Some support and some reject it.The results of this study show that the use of hermeneutics in interpreting the Qur’an must be careful. In addition, This science should be placed as a complement, not as a subdivision of the science of interpretation. On the other hand, hermeneutics paves the way to contextualize the scriptures, so that they can dialogue in different spaces and times, as apologically desirable and held by many religious groups to their respective scriptures.

As any new method of treatment, gravidanotherapy is met with varying opinions. Some expect "miracles" from this method of treatment, believing that gravidanotherapy has found a new all-encompassing, excluding all other methods of treatment. On the other hand, there is an undeniable tendency to downplay or even completely deny the importance of gravidanotherapy. Finally, some authors consider gravidanotherapy as a method giving only subjective improvement of patients' well-being, the success of which is based on mass psychotherapy. Meanwhile, there is no doubt that gravidan, given its composition, should have a significant effect on the human body. It is only necessary that clinical observations and experimental verification give an unbiased assessment of the action of the drug and determine the place of gravidanotherapy in the arsenal of means of modern medicine.

The reduction of a binary sulfate mixture cannot be predicted from the behavior of the individual components. Thus, while CuSO4 is reduced to Cu at 400 °C and NiSO4 is reduced to Ni3S2, the sulfate mixture yields Cu, Ni3S2, and Cu2S. Also while FeSO4 is completely stable in H2 at 400 °C, (Cu,Fe) SO4 yields Cu and Cu5FeS4. The formation of Cu2S in the first case and Cu5FeS4 in the second was unexpected. On the other hand, (Cu,Mn)SO4 is stable in H2 up to 550 °C although pure CuSO4 is completely reduced at 400 °C. CoSO4 also interferes when reduced in presence of CuSO4, while Na2SO4, MgSO4, Al2(SO4)3, ZnSO4, CdSO4 do not interfere within limited temperature range. Of these only Na2SO4 forms a complex sulfate with CuSO4. No Cu2SO4 was identified when CuSO4 was reduced in presence of other sulfates although it is an intermediate product during the reduction of pure CuSO4.

Magnetic properties of C 60 and C 70 complexes with tetrakis(dimethylamino)ethylene (TDAE) have been studied based on the measurements of the Faraday-balance magnetization and the electron spin resonance (ESR). It has been found that both TDAE- C 60 and TDAE- C 70 possess about one radical spin per fullerene molecule. TDAE- C 60 has been confirmed to show ferromagnetic-type transition at Tc=16.7–17.5 K . Appearance of a new broad and intense ESR signal below Tc of TDAE- C 60 suggests that the radical spins in the magnetically ordered state rather localize on each C 60 molecule and are ferromagnetically correlated. On the other hand, TDAE- C 70 does not show ferromagnetism in all the temperature range down to 4.5K.

Abstract The nitroso copolymer shows excellent promise which has not been realized due to a lack of ability to achieve a suitable cure. The CNR terpolymer, on the other hand, retains the excellent solvent and oxidizer resistance, nonflammability, and wide useful temperature range of the copolymer and can, in addition, be easily fabricated and cured by several techniques into many useful products.

Temperature affects growth of bacteria by influencing enzyme and growth kinetics. Specifically, evolution selects for specific temperature range in which a microbe could thrive, and thus fix the temperature range in which biomolecule structure and function are finely tuned for coping with the thermal conditions prevailing within a cell at a particular temperature. Using aerobic culture in LB Lennox medium in shake flasks, this study aimed to understand the growth of Pseudomonas protegens Pf-5 (ATCC BAA-477) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa PRD-10 (ATCC 15442) at 25, 30 and 37 oC. Experiment results revealed that P. protegens Pf-5 grew very poorly at 37 oC (with maximal optical density of 0.66), while better growth was observed at 25 and 30 oC. Specifically, P. protegens Pf-5 appeared to be better adapted to growth at 25 oC, where the maximal optical density obtained was 5.3 compared to 4.6 at 30 oC. More importantly, two phase growth behaviour was observed during growth at 30 oC where a faster initial phase of growth was followed by a slower one. Growth at 25 and 30 oC exhibited similar pH trend, which suggested similar metabolic processes was activated during growth. On the other hand, P. aeruginosa PRD-10 demonstrated a more efficient conversion of LB Lennox medium into biomass where the maximal optical density obtained at all three growth temperatures were higher than those of P. protegens Pf-5. More importantly, growth of P. aeruginosa PRD-10 exhibited a clear adaptation to growth at 25 and 37 oC, while growth at 30 oC resulted in a lower biomass yield compared to that of 25 and 37 oC. On the other hand, pH variation during culture revealed that P. aeruginosa PRD-10 likely activated similar metabolic processes at all three growth temperatures, where a higher growth temperature would result in the net secretion of more alkaline metabolites. Collectively, P. protegens Pf-5 and P. aeruginosa PRD-10 demonstrated clear temperature adaptation at an evolutionary level. In addition, experiment data suggested that P. aeruginosa PRD-10 might have co-evolved with humans on a substantial time scale resulting in a temperature preference of 37 oC over 30 oC.

In this paper, we proposed a modification of the measurement of the personality consistency level of the Pauli & Kraepelin Test in the field of psychology, using the formula made in April 2016, by Sigit Haryadi, and named "the Harmony in Gradation" or “the Haryadi Index”. The purpose of this proposal is because the existing formula uses only the mean value of the deviation, which leads to the possibility that the result of consistency measurement on people whose facts are different levels of consistency will be considered to have the same consistency level, on the other hand, the proposed method will be more accurate and precise in terms of providing an assessment of the level of personality consistency of a person.

Differential enthalpies of solution of components in binary systems 2 CaO . Al2O3 . SiO2-CaO . Al2O3 . 2 SiO2, CaO . SiO2-CaO . Al2O3 . 2 SiO2 and CaO . SiO2-2 CaO . Al2O3 . SiO2 as the function of composition and temperature were determined on the base of isothermal composition dependences of enthalpies of mixing and temperature dependences of heats of fusion of their pure components. From the values of the first differential heat of solution of CaO . Al2O3 . 2 SiO2 and 2 CaO . Al2O3 . SiO2 in CaO . SiO2 over temperature range considered we can conclude that the reactions were closed chains of SiO4 tetrahedra in CaO . SiO2 melt break, are exothermic. On the other hand positive values of this quantity for CaO . SiO2 in CaO . Al2O3 . 2 SiO2 and 2 CaO . Al2O3 . SiO2 led us to the conclusion that the progressive breaking originally closed chains in CaO . SiO2 melt has endothermic character.
