Model of a Christian Academic Teacher in the Education of Tomorrow

Abstract Vocational training, functioning of an academic teacher in the profession and personal development are the selected areas of the author’s scientific research inquiries, based on the Christian concept of Man as the image of God and the perception of the value of a person in being a Human. Christian academic teacher has been defined as an advocate who lives with faith, conscious of the gift of his teaching vocation. In the environment of his life and work, he penetrates the academic and social structures with evangelical values. As a guardian of human existence, he supports Man in his comprehensive development. He helps him to recognize, extract and develop his innate talents. The conviction of the author as to the validity of forecasting and building an alternative structure of a personal model as a Christian academic teacher appeared in the course of his own considerations, the assimilation of negative assessment of academic reality, changes in thinking about the teacher, issues of peudetology. The principal hope of the author for success of an idea of academic teacher model and his personal formation as a Christian lecturer named proponent, is to base the process of his formation on personal pedagogy of Jesus as a Master. Hence, construction of an alternative to other solutions - a model of personal Christian lecturer as an advocate and a witness of faith - fills a gap in academic situation of pedeutology educational crossroads at the threshold of the twenty-first century, and is an attempt to modernize this segment of academic reality. It has been assumed that humanism in the educational process of higher school in the education of tomorrow means renewal, continuous creation, safeguarding and development of the human dimension of educational entities.

The authors of the publication have updated the importance of the philosophy of education in the cultural space of Latvia. This study has gained significance within the context of personal development and teacher professionalism. However, existing tendencies and regulatory frameworks must be taken into account. In the context of educational theory a topical issue is: How to implement the teaching purposefully according with the external and internal factors and the influence of individual's psychological processes and at the same time maintaining the continuity and succession and providing support for the harmonious and comprehensive development of personality? The author’s propose that by implementing a regulatory framework and the analysis of theoretical literature, to evaluate and update, the importance of teacher’s professional dispositions their educational philosophy, and being mindful of the personality formation will lend to a balanced educational process. The 21st century is characterized by dynamism and rapid change, which consists of both benefits and challenges, e.g. increasing international competition, migration and multiculturalism, technological progress etc. That is reinforced by the transformation of sociocultural, humanitarian crisis and the revision of fundamental cultural values (Alijevs, 2005. Thus teacher`s and student`s interaction gains importance and being aware of that through recognizing the social and environmental challenges and the features of personal development, diverse educational process, different types of support is provided to students and their competitiveness and competences are promoted.

Abstract Gregory of Nyssa (cca 335–cca 395), one of the three Cappadocian Fathers, introduces the creation of human beings on the basis of Genesis 1:26–27 and interprets these two biblical verses as a ‘double creation’—the first of which is ‘in the image of God’ (Genesis 1:26) and secondly as male or female (Genesis 1:27). His concept of ‘double creation’ is obviously inspired by Philo of Alexandria, a first-century Jewish philosopher, but Gregory points out the condition of human beings before and after committing the sin, in contrast to Philo’s conception. While Philo distinguishes between the first and the second creation of the entirety of nature, Gregory only relates the double creation to humans. Thus plants as nourishment for humans, according to Genesis, must be matched with the second creation of humans. In the resurrection, when the ‘first creation’ of human nature will be reached, human beings with their restored bodies will only feed on immaterial, spiritual food—the Word of God.

SummarySyncretism, by which the man is being destroyed, connects the sport and the industry with different philosophical-religious stances toward the world, and it hides behind a mask of progress whose real face is greed – an insatiable wish to own the new world, which is without man and without God, and to create a “new” man. The world of progress is a world of greed which has its own laws, i. e. its ethics, in which a man as a creature which bears the image of God does not fit. It only fits if it is just a lever of this same progressive greed. The man by its nature shows himself through the work, and hence man has the right to work, for man makes work being work, it is not that the work makes man being a man. In such a context the game/sport is in the category of man’s work and the showing (accomplishment) of human God-likeliness and by that the central (man-centered) role of the man concerning the world around him, which is only preparation to accomplish the full theanthropocentricity (having Christ as center) of the whole creation. Sports industry requires the new ethics by its own measures, and by them it shapes the sportsmen as its indispensable, not self-aware parts. Regardless of being wounded by sin, corruptibility and death, by the gift of Lord, each grace-filled synergetic move (hence the game/sports) of the man toward the world is the confirmation of the theanthropocentricity of the creation and Christ-centered nature (theanthropocentricity) of man.

The purpose and tasks of the work are to analyze the contemporary Ukrainian mass culture in terms of its value and humanistic components, as well as the importance of cultural studies and Ukrainian studies in educational disciplines for the formation of a holistic worldview of modern youth.Analysis of research and publications. Scientists repeatedly turned to the problems of the role of spirituality in the formation of society and its culture. This problem is highlighted in the publications by O. Losev, V. Lytvyn, D. Likhachev, S. Avierintsev, M. Zakovych, I. Stepanenko and E. Kostyshyn.Experts see the main negative impact of mass culture on the quality approach, which determines mass culture through the market, because mass culture, from our point of view, is everything that is sold and used in mass demand.One of the most interesting studies on this issue was the work by the representatives of Frankfurt School M. Horkheimer and T. Adorno «Dialectics of Enlightenment» (1947), devoted to a detailed analysis of mass culture. Propaganda at all socio-cultural levels in the form is similar in both totalitarian and democratic countries. It is connected, according to the authors, with the direction of European enlightenment. The tendency to unify people is a manifestation of the influence of mass culture, from cinema to pop. Mass culture is a phenomenon whose existence is associated with commerce (accumulation in any form – this is the main feature of education), in general, the fact that it exists in this form is related to the direction of the history of civilization.Modern mass culture, with its externally attractive and easily assimilated ideas and symbols, appealing to the trends of modern fashion, becomes a standard of prestigious consumption, does not require intense reflection, allows you to relax, distract, not teach, but entertains, preaches hedonism as the main spiritual value. And as a consequence, there are socio-cultural risks: an active rejection of other people, which leads to the formation of indifference; cruelty as a character trait; increase of violent and mercenary crime; increase in the number of alcohol and drug addicts; anti-patriotism; indifference to the values of the family and as a result of social orphanhood and prostitution.Conclusions, perspectives of research. Thus, we can conclude that modern Ukrainian education is predominantly formed by the values of mass culture. Namely, according to the «Dialectic» by Horkheimer and Adorno, «semi-enlightenment becomes an objective spirit» of our modern society.It is concluded that only high-quality education can create the opposite of the onset of mass culture and the destruction of spirituality in our society. It is proved that only by realizing the importance of cultivating disciplines in the educational process and the spiritual upbringing of the nation, through educational reforms, humanitarian knowledge will gradually return to student audiences.Formation of youth occurs under the influence of social environment, culture, education and self-education. The optimal combination of these factors determines both the process of socialization itself and how successful it will be. In this context, one can see the leading role of education and upbringing. It turns out that the main task of modern education is to spread its influence on the development of spiritual culture of the individual, which eventually becomes a solid foundation for the formation of the individual. Such a subject requires both philosophical and humanitarian approaches in further integrated interdisciplinary research, since the availability of such research will provide the theoretical foundation for truly modern educational and personal development.

This chapter moves into the political and economic aspects of human nature. Given scarcity and interdependence, what sense has Judaism made of the material well-being necessary for human flourishing? What are Jewish attitudes toward prosperity, market relations, labor, and leisure? What has Judaism had to say about the political dimensions of human nature? If all humans are made in the image of God, what does that original equality imply for political order, authority, and justice? In what kinds of systems can human beings best flourish? It argues that Jewish tradition shows that we act in conformity with our nature when we elevate, improve, and sanctify it. As co-creators of the world with God, we are not just the sport of our biochemistry. We are persons who can select and choose among the traits that comprise our very own natures, cultivating some and weeding out others.
