AbstractSorana Ţopa’s Journal, whose manuscript was donated by Mrs. Lucreţia Angheluţă to “George Enescu” National University of Arts, is not just an unsettling testimony of the qualms that marked the actress’ life, but also an essayistic guide, which can lead us to ourselves. The fragments we have chosen – dated October 31st 1971, November 5th 1971, November 9th 1971 and November 14th 1971 – help us understand that she lived under the sign of empathy; her angsts were generated by the worry for others and the deterioration of man’s relationship with nature. The events of the day go through the filter of reflection on human destiny, seen as a journey between self and ego. Her pages are a plea for a life lived in harmony with oneself and others, an invitation to abandon frivolity, egoism, and to re-establish non-negotiable value axes (“It means not allowing yourself to trade with them”); a return to the natural matrix. But how many of us are able or willing to do this?I am reading and I am shaken by the actuality of her words, of her vision on (ir)responsibility, survival, humanity; and all these starting from our attitude when we suffer from... “a trivial flu”. I have the feeling that I’ve opened a window into time, to receive a deep warning signal about a trap swallowing us: “An almost bestial, animal-like attention – regarding physical survival, this we know, yes, and we fully feed it. But God forbid the winds of the unforeseeable blow and stir deeper than the surface the murky waters of our consciousness, as our attention doesn’t instantly grow in a significant way! Do not stir dead waters – is a book title that would have tempted me at some point.” Questions spring from between the lines, with the sound of shards.Sorana Ţopa’s Journal shows us a broken mirror of our prejudices and nothingness, it urges us to feel the smell of “self-awareness”, to accept that life cannot be lived from the outside, or in pieces. Reading her testimonies and confessions must be done in the key of responsibility and accountability, of recovering spiritual dimension.Sorana Ţopa remains a still insufficiently known actress; perhaps the road to understanding the thoughts she laid on paper is longer than it seems, the vibrations are on another frequency, and the meaning... different. Comments can only push us even further away; “the cinder of words can hurt”. Perhaps the silent, interiorized, multiplied reading will draw us closer, giving some meaning to the liquefied passage of time.

Abstract: Strategic Learning involves Learning Strategies and Teaching Strategies that can help bring success to a student. The research objective answers the question: What is the meaning of a Learning Strategy? What is an Effective Learning Strategy? What are the Learning Strategies among Teachers against Students in the Context of Solving Learning Difficulties? The answer is: Learning strategies are the methods that will be selected and used by a teacher to deliver learning material that aims to make it easier for students to receive and understand learning material, which in the end can be mastered learning objectives at the end of learning activities. Three aspects of effective learning strategies are: (1) Students Need Continuous Strategic Instruction. (2) Teachers Promote Self-Awareness in Metacognition in the Classroom. (3) Teachers Can Recognize and Understand Different Learning Profiles. Learning Strategies between Teachers and Students in the Context of Solving Learning Difficulties are: (1) learning difficulties manifested in classrooms, (2) difficulties demonstrated by students in classrooms, and (3) strategies to help students who have difficulty paying attention in class . Abstrak: Strategic Learning melibatkan Strategi Pembelajaran dan Strategi Pengajaran yang dapat membantu membawa kejayaan kepada seorang mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian menjawab pertanyaan: Apakah pengertian Strategi Pembelajaran? Bagaimanakah Strategi Pembelajaran yang Efektif? Bagaimanakah Strategi Pembelajaran di antara Guru terhadap Siswa dalam Konteks Memecahkan Kesulitan Belajar? Jawabannya adalah: Strategi pembelajaran adalah cara-cara yang akan dipilih dan digunakan oleh seorang pengajar untuk menyampaikan materi pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk memudahkan peserta didik menerima dan memahami materi pembelajaran, yang pada akhirnya tujuan pembelajaran dapat dikuasainya di akhir kegiatan belajar. Tiga hal strategi pembelajaran yang efektif adalah: (1) Siswa  Memerlukan Instruksi Strategi yang Berkelanjutan. (2) Guru  Mempromosikan Kesadaran Diri dalam Metakognisi di Kelas. (3) Guru-guru Dapat Mengenali dan Memahami Profil Pembelajaran yang Berbeda. Strategi Pembelajaran di antara Guru terhadap Siswa dalam Konteks Memecahkan Kesulitan Belajar adalah: (1) kesulitan belajar dimanifestasi dalam bilik kelas, (2) kesulitan didemonstrasi oleh siswa dalam bilik kelas, dan (3) strategi-strategi untuk membantu siswa yang kesulitan perhatian di kelas.

In this study, we explored the perspectives about sports injury prevention of Belgium Olympic level athletes, coaches, managers and healthcare providers from various Olympic sports. We conducted a qualitative study, including 17 semistructured interviews. All interviews were transcribed verbatim and analysed by two independent coders through constant comparative data analysis based on Grounded Theory principles. Our findings overview the athlete’s journey to becoming an elite athlete, and how an elite sports context influences and modulates injury prevention practice at this level. Participants described an elite athletic career as a continuous and adaptive evolving process. According to athletes and all stakeholders, sports injury prevention is a learning process shaped by individual experiences. This embodiment provides athletes with insight into the importance of ownership of their bodies and self-awareness. Thus, experience, communication, empowerment, knowledge, education, the elite athlete context and sports culture, all play a fundamental role in sports injury prevention. Our findings support the importance of contextual factors in sports injury prevention in an elite sports context. These results also bring practical implications on how we should approach injury prevention differently along an athlete’s journey to becoming an elite athlete. Considering specific contextual factors and influencing the process through awareness, communication and a shared responsibility is essential to develop a healthy and successful athlete.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) encompass sensing technologies, wireless communication, and intelligent algorithms, and resemble the infrastructure for ubiquitous computing in the car. This chapter borrows from social media, locative media, mobile technologies, and urban informatics research to explore three classes of ITS applications in which human behavior plays a more pivotal role. Applications for enhancing self-awareness could positively influence driver behavior, both in real-time and over time. Additionally, tools capable of supporting our social awareness while driving could change our attitude towards others and make it easier and safer to share the road. Lastly, a better urban awareness in and outside the car improves our understanding of the road infrastructure as a whole. As a case study, the authors discuss emotion recognition (emotions such as aggressiveness and anger are a major contributing factor to car crashes) and a suitable basis and first step towards further exploring the three levels of awareness, self-, social-, and urban-awareness, in the context of driving on roads.

Background: In Thailand, most terminally ill patients die in hospital and are looked after by health professionals. Terminally ill patients tend to receive physical care only, while in the main, spiritual care is neglected. This study aimed to explore spirituality in palliative care health professionals and spiritual leaders in the Thai Buddhist context. Method: In this qualitative case study, seven experienced palliative caregivers took part in in-depth interviews. Thematic analysis and a trustworthiness process were used to analyse the data. Findings: Three themes emerged: (1) the ability for self-awareness and faith; (2) acceptance and compassion for others; and (3) spiritual behaviour while nursing. Conclusion: The results revealed the meaning of spirituality and the necessary characteristics for spirituality in palliative care for the participants, which could serve as a basis for further development.

The United States had three challenges in Asia in the mid-1960s: a hostile China, an assertive Japan, and a faltering South Vietnam. The Johnson administration's solution to these problems was to promote the normalizing of relations between its two vital Asian allies, Japan and South Korea. The two countries had refused to recognize each other diplomatically since the end of Japan's colonial rule over Korea after World War II. The acrimonious relations between Seoul and Tokyo weakened the containment wall in Northeast Asia while depriving Korea of Japanese investments, loans, and markets. These problems forced the United States to commit extensive military and economic assistance to Korea. As expected, a Tokyo-Seoul rapprochment buttressed the West's bulwark against communist powers in the region and hindered a potential Beijing-Tokyo reconciliation. It opened the road for Japan's economic penetration into Korea and enabled Seoul to receive Tokyo's help in economic development. Reassured by the friendship between Korea and Japan, Washington forged an alliance with Seoul in the Vietnam War. Between 1965 and 1973 Korea dispatched 300,000 soldiers in Vietnam, making it the second largest foreign power in support of Saigon. The Korea-Japan rapprochment proved to be a powerful remedy for America's problems in Asia.

Mr. Newton in his History of Discoveries, p. 583, gives the following account of an excursion to the peninsula which lies to the west of Budrum (Halikarnassus) where he was then excavating:—We next proceeded to examine the hill with the level top. This hill is called Assarlik.Ascending from this gateway we passed several other lines of ancient walls, and on gaining the summit of the hill found a platform artificially levelled. There are not many traces of walls here. The sides of the hill are so steep on the north and east that they do not require walls. The platform terminates on the north-east in a rock rising vertically for many hundred feet from the valley below. The top of the rock is cut into beds to receive a tower. The view from this platform is magnificent.[After brief mention of several tombs passed in the way down, Mr. Newton proceeds:]The acropolis which anciently crowned the rock at Assarlik must have overlooked a great part of the peninsula and commanded the road from Halicarnassus to Myndus and Termera. From the number of tombs here, and their archaic character, it may be inferred that this was a fortress of some importance in very early times.

Pope John Paul's great vision of communitarianism and a New Global Order has yet to receive the recognition it deserves in furthering the understanding that humanity is built on religious values, without which transformations in totalitarian regimes would have been impossible. The essence of communitarianism, as put forth by the Vatican, consists of seeking middle ground between Marxist collectivism and rigid individualism and capitalism. Phillips traces the history of communitarianism through Aristotelian and Judeo-Christian writings, clarifying the proper function of the community in helping individuals help themselves by mobilizing church resources and countering anti-religious movements such as Nazism and communism. Communitarianism presents an encouraging universal notion of freedom, transcending the one-sided stances of Marxism and libertarian capitalism and promoting the vision of a unified human destiny.

In this paper, we develop a real-time intelligent transportation system (ITS) to detect vehicles traveling the wrong way on the road. The concept of this wrong-way system is to detect such vehicles as soon as they enter an area covered by a single closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera. After detection, the program alerts the monitoring center and triggers a warning signal to the drivers. The developed system is based on video imaging and covers three aspects: detection, tracking, and validation. To locate a car in a video frame, we use a deep learning method known as you only look once version 3 (YOLOv3). Therefore, we use a custom dataset for training to create a deep learning model. After estimating a car’s position, we implement linear quadratic estimation (also known as Kalman filtering) to track the detected vehicle during a certain period. Lastly, we apply an “entry-exit” algorithm to identify the car’s trajectory, achieving 91.98% accuracy in wrong-way driver detection.

Safia Foudhaïli Farhat was a Tunisian artist, arts administrator, and teacher. She was among the few elite Tunisian girls to receive a primary and secondary education in schools of the French Protectorate. In 1952 she was the third female Tunisian student to graduate from the colonial École des Beaux-Arts in Tunis. After independence in 1956, Farhat became the first Tunisian woman to teach at the Beaux-Arts, where she directed the atelier of decoration from 1958 until 1966. Along with Abdelaziz Gorgi, she was instrumental in launching an arts curriculum aligned with government initiatives for national development. Specifically, she partnered with the Office Nationale de l’Artisanat to revitalize artistic heritage and modernize local industries. She is credited with formally training the first generation of female art students, and was an influence on fibre artists such as Fatma Samet and Mohamed Njeh. In 1964 and 1966 Farhat was promoted to assistant director and director respectively, thus becoming the first Tunisian to head the École des Beaux-Arts. She held this position until 1973, the same year she engineered the joining of the art school (thereafter called the Institut Technologique d’Art d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme or ITAAUT) with the national university system.

Stainless steel electrodes were implanted in the vicinity of the medial forebrain bundle of monkeys. The monkeys were trained to lever press on an appetitive schedule to receive intracranial stimulation, and on an aversive schedule to avoid a foot shock which was preceded by a warning signal. The lever pressing behavior on the avoidance schedule was extinguished and brain stimulation was substituted as the punishment in the aversive situation. None of the monkeys avoided or escaped the 15-second brain shock. Even when the time period was prolonged to 1 hour, no avoidance behavior occurred. The results indicated that the nature of the intracranial stimulation for the electrode site used was not reversible from appetitive to aversive either with a change in the experimental situation or with a prolongation of the stimulus duration.
