The limited funding of the Aceh Jaya regency government for development, including the construction of road infrastructure and the way in which road construction projects are still inaccurate and the process of budgeting unproportional work package by the Aceh Jaya regency government itself has not been able to fully meet the needs of road development in Aceh Jaya. Therefore, the need for priority scale that can be used as the basis of consideration in the process of development of road infrastructure development program. The purpose of this study is to determine the priority order of several road infrastructure development projects in Aceh Jaya regency by selecting or considering the appropriate criteria and according to development condition in Aceh Jaya regency using Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) method. The weight of each criterion was calculated based on an assessment of the importance between the criteria obtained by interviewing stakeholders in Aceh Jaya regency government, while the alternative road performance score was obtained by analyzing and calculating the scale of the assessment quantitatively against each criterion based on secondary data obtained from related offices. Selected criteria are accessibility, environmental aspect, area development aspect, social aspect and development cost. Social aspect criteria get the highest weight of 0.279, it can be interpreted that social aspect is the main consideration in determining priority of road development in Aceh Jaya regency, because social aspect see influence of economic growth and social welfare of society from development of road infrastructure.  Based on the consideration of these criteria, the order of priority scale of road construction project in Aceh Jaya regency, where road in Calang city, Krueng Sabee sub-district is the first priority with score value 6,72.

Abstract This article argues that a fantasy of Indian road infrastructure was archived in official documentary films. It analyzes two 1960s road construction projects through three corresponding Films Division of India documentaries, which represented India's northern borders. These show how the playfulness of film, the unruliness of infrastructure, and the precariousness of the border and its imaginary have meant that even propaganda films with set narratives erupted with an aesthetics of pleasure and violence. Replete with such dramatic signifiers, the films offer a psychic archive of the developmental state. The projective capacity of architectural knowledge enables this article to speculate on this archive of fantasy and thus interrogate infrastructure, modernization, and development, not as normative categories, but as aesthetic techniques. These produced for the Indian state a spatial narrative of fraught borders contiguous with metropoles, a condition that created a new tyranny of proximity.

Investment in large-scale infrastructure, after a lull, has accelerated in the last decade, where roads in particular feature predominantly in development initiatives globally. While conventionally academic interventions have primarily focused on infrastructure in relation to economic development processes and its promises of modernity, more recently these arguments extended to diverse processes of environmental, economic, political and social change. Scepticism surrounding road infrastructure development interrogates whether this form of infrastructure development is justifiable. In particular, the faith placed on roads to catalyze trade, create profitability, enhance economic opportunities of local communities living adjacent to new road infrastructure projects and its ability to mitigate environmental concerns are noted concerns. Our review draws together and extends these arguments, claiming that while social, political and economic processes, and consequences of road development have undergone recurrent assessment, gaps in addressing environmental and energy aspects prevail. Given the central import of climate and environmental change at the current juncture, thus, there is also a pressing need to articulate and examine this in future work.

One of the most important sectors in infrastructure development in Laos is road construction. However, many road construction projects in Laos suffer from extensive delays. This causes damage such as recurring problems in the road construction industry, and has a negative effect on the success of road construction projects in terms of schedule, cost, quality, safety and the amenity of road users. The goal of this study is to determine the main causes of these delays and to offer remedies. To identify the causes of delays, a questionnaire is designed by modifying one used to measure causes of delays in road construction projects in the West Bank in Palestine and in consultation with engineering experts with more than 10 years of experience in Laos road construction projects. A total of 53 causes of delay are identified as important in Laos. Questionnaire respondents included 35 contractors, 31 owners and 24 consultants in total. The survey results indicate that the five top factors causing road construction delays are: Contractor cash flow; Delayed payment by owner; Difficulties in financing project by contractor; Financial issues related to owner; and Insufficient equipment and vehicles for the work.

Transport sector is very important for development of local economies, so it is intensively studied in different countries. Road infrastructure construction projects in many European countries are mainly carried out through various forms of Public–Private Partnership (PPP). Financial evaluation, private partner selection criteria, technical characteristics and very important focus of sustainable development components (environmental, social and economic) of PPP road infrastructure development projects are widely analysed in the scientific literature. Although many research studies were published for PPP road infrastructure projects efficiency assessment from different aspects, there have not been created assessment methodology with all key areas incorporated altogether. The authors provide an integrated PPP road infrastructure projects effectiveness modelling methodology by applying Random Forest technique. The developed methodology is recommended to be applied for PPP road infrastructure projects effectiveness prediction from the private and public sector perspectives.
