This article employs a new approach to studying internal colonialism in northern Scotland during the 18th and 19th centuries. A common approach to examining internal colonial situations within modern state territories is to compare characteristics of the internal colonial situation with attested attributes of external colonial relations. Although this article does not reject the comparative approach, it seeks to avoid criticisms that this approach can be misleading by demonstrating that promoters and managers of projects involving land use change, territorial dispossession and industrial development in the late modern Gàidhealtachd consistently conceived of their work as projects of colonization. It further argues that the new social, cultural and political structures these projects imposed on the area's indigenous population correspond to those found in other colonial situations, and that racist and racialist attitudes towards Gaels of the time are typical of those in colonial situations during the period. The article concludes that the late modern Gàidhealtachd has been a site of internal colonization where the relationship of domination between colonizer and colonized is complex, longstanding and occurring within the imperial state. In doing so it demonstrates that the history and present of the Gaels of Scotland belongs within the ambit of an emerging indigenous research paradigm.

The retail market in Vietnam continues to grow with the entry of foreign retail brands and the strong rise of domestic businesses in expanding distribution networks and conquering consumer confidence. The appearance of more retail brands has created a fiercely competitive market. Based on the outcomes of previous research results on brand choice intention combined with a customer survey, the paper proposes an analytical framework and scales to examine the relationship of five elements including store image, price perception, risk perception, brand attitudes, brand awareness and retail brand choice intention with a case study of the Hanoi-based Circle K convenience store chain. These five elements are the precondition for retail businesses to develop their brands so as to attract customers.

The difference in the effects of rough water on similar sailing yachts has been one of the intriguing puzzles that sailors, designers, and researchers have long tried to understand. It is not uncommon for two yachts of equal performance in smooth-sea conditions to have their speed or pointing ability reduced by different amounts when encountering waves. To investigate the causes of such behavior, it is important to have a rational procedure to analyze how changes in hull form, weight distribution, rig, and other design features affect the speed and motions of sailing yachts. This paper discusses the relationship of wind to rough water and of motions and added resistance to wave length and height. It then describes a procedure to predict motions, sailing speed, and speed-made-good to windward in realistic windward sailing conditions. The procedure utilizes results of heeled and yawed model tests of 12-metre yachts in oblique regular waves to predict performance in a Pierson-Moskowitz sea state corresponding closely to the equilibrium true wind speed.

The purpose of this research is to determine the organizational support for professionalism that has never been done before. The research approach is to conceptualize the structure of the relationship of variables from a study. Verification research is to test the hypothesis through data collection in the field using two methods, namely descriptive survey and explanatory survey. The use of both methods aims to analyze the causality relationship between research variables in accordance with the hypothesis quantitatively. There is significant influence between the variables of organizational support to professional variables. However, different results are found on the influence of organizational support variables on OCB and performance that have no significant effect. There is also an indirect influence between organizational support variables on OCB and performance through intermediary intervening professionalism variables. The difference between this research and the previous research are the use of constructs and the measurement in the unit of analysis being used.

Managers are the first to be contacted for suggestions with regard to overall information about the organization. Taking into consideration the importance of managers in the organization and a critical review of literature which revealed that the study on work motivation, burnout and intention to leave has not been conducted so far on the top level managers of garment industry of Delhi and NCR, the researcher found a gap to be filled by  conducting investigation on this sample for the variables in question. So the sample of the present study consists of top level managers of garment industry of Delhi and NCR. Thus, a convenient sampling method was used for drawing the sample from 60 garment export houses of Delhi and 40 of NCR. This paper gives a deep insight of work motivation, burnout and intention to leave for the top level managers of the garment industry of Delhi/NCR. In this paper we have checked the relationship of all dimensions of work motivation with the dimensions of burnout and intention to leave and have observed that all dimensions of work motivation have some more or less relationship with each dimension of burnout but neither of the dimensions of work motivation or total work motivation have any relationship with intention to leave. So even if top level managers leave their current job they don’t leave because of lack of work motivation.
