Mangrove ecosystems are found mainly in tropical and subtropical coastal areas. they are playing a very important ecological role in land-ocean interfaces. These ecosystems are protecting the environment and providing a habitat that supports many living organisms. Identification of area images in mangrove ecosystems is very helpful in monitoring and conservation of this ecosystem. In this study, we will present the segmentation of drone image taken from TAHURA Ngurah Rai mangrove area using otsu method. The otsu method giving well accuracy to segmented image to divide mangrove area and non mangrove area. Because Otsu method operates on a grayscale image so that it cannot distinguish the dark green of the tree canopies from the dark shadows of the trees, then the segmentation accuracy will decrease.

<strong>Mangrove gastropod community in Perpat and Bunting Rivers, Belinyu District, Bangka Regency</strong>. Perpat and Bunting in Bangka Regency have an adequate and natural mangrove ecosystems. However, studies on the structure of the gastropod community in this ecosystem is lacking. This study aimed to discover the structure of the gastropod community in the mangrove ecosystem. This study was carried out from October to November 2019 in riverine mangrove area located in Perpat and Bunting Rivers, District Belinyu, Bangka Regency. Samples were taken from 10 x 10 m plot from six observed stations. A total of 578 individuals of gastropoda were collected, comprised of seven families and 14 species. Number of species ranged from 4 to 9, while number of individuals ranged from 35 to 214. <em>Cerithidea quoyii</em> was a dominant species with 270 individuals (47%) and found in all stations. Gastropods community was in labile condition and prone to environmental change. Species composition of gastropods were similar in both rivers with nine identical species. However, epifaunal species were found separately from arboreal species

Mangroves are recognized as a highly valuable resource due to their provision of multiple ecosystem services. Therefore, mangrove ecosystems mapping and monitoring is a crucial objective, especially for tropical regions. Thai Binh province is one of the most important mangrove ecosystems in Vietnam. The mangrove ecosystem in this province has faced threats of deforestation from urban development, land reclamation, tourism activities, and natural disasters. Recently, to maintain the fundamental functions of the ecosystems, a large mangrove area was planted in Thai Binh. The aim of this research is to detect the change in the mangrove areas and to create an aboveground biomass map for mangrove forests in Thai Binh province. Landsat and Sentinel-2 satellite images from 1998 to 2018 were analysed using the supervised classification method to detect mangrove area change. Mangrove Above-ground Biomass (AGB) was estimated using linear regression between vegetation indices and field AGB survey. The accuracy assessment for the classified images of 1998, 2003 and 2007, 2013 and 2018 are 93%, 86%, 96%, 94% and 91% respectively with kappa of 0.8881, 0.7953, 0.9357, 0.9114 and 0.8761. The mangrove cover in the study area was estimated at 5874.93 ha in 1998. This figure decreased significantly to 4433.85 ha in 2007, before recovery began to take place in the study area, which was estimated at 6587.88 ha in 2018. In 1998, the average AGB in this study area was 22.57 ton/ha, and in 2018 it was 37.74 ton/ha with a standard error of 12.41 ton/ha and the root mean square error (RMSE) was ±12.08 ton/ha.

The development of coastal areas is growing rapidly in line with the high population growth that will threaten the continuity of coastal areas and ecosystems. Mangrove area located in the coastal area of Karawang Regency becomes an ecologically challenged area that greatly affects its sustainability. This study aims to examine mangrove ecosystems and community perspectives on the management of the mangrove ecosystems continuously and sustainably. The method used was a survey study at Nine Districts in Karawang Regency using the descriptive method with case study and perspective analysis on ten categories. Data were collected through interviews, observation and supported by secondary data. The description of this study was focused on mangrove ecosystem condition and community perspective in mangrove area management in coastal district Karawang. Data analysis used was a descriptive qualitative approach based on average with scales. The analysis results showed that most of the coastal communities in Karawang Regency strongly agree that; 1) The mangrove area in Karawang Regency is currently necessary/important to be managed to be sustainable, 2) The form of mangrove area management should involve all the local people, 3) There needs to be cooperation between the government and the local community in mangrove area management activities.

Mangroves play a significant ecological role as a physical habitat and nursery grounds for a wide variety of aquatic vertebrates and invertebrates include molluscs. This study focuses on assessing the diversity and characteristics of mollusc species in disturbed and undisturbed mangrove ecosystem areas in Delta Tumpat, Kelantan. In each site, molluscs were collected using dredging method during high tide and gleaning technique during low tide. Physical characteristics and diversity index (H’) were calculated for both sites. A total of 14 mollusc species were found in the study area including five species from Bivalvia and nine species from Gastropoda class. More species were found in the undisturbed area which had produced a high species diversity (H’=1.99) compared to the disturbed area. The biggest species found at both areas was Telescopium telescopium with 7.62cm in size. Meanwhile, Cerithedia aurisfelis was the smallest species found with the size of 0.87cm. The difference in the growth of molluscs species in mangrove ecosystems depends on the quality and quantity of available food resources.

The mangrove ecosystem is one of the ecosystems in the estuary area that is unique and very sensitive to environmental changes. The large number of aquaculture businesses around Cemare Hamlet, West Lombok Regency have resulted in many mangrove areas being converted into pond cultivation locations. This will have an impact on the life of mangrove ecosystems such as plankton. This study aims to determine the abundance of plankton species around the mangrove area of ??Dusun Cemare, Sheet Selatan Village, West Lombok Regency. The research was conducted in May-October 2019 using a purposive sampling method by determining 7 stations to represent water conditions. Plankton analysis using the Lackey drop microtranscting method. The results showed that the mangrove ecosystem in Dusun Cemare was composed of 4 types, namely: Rhizophora sp., Avicenia sp., Bruguiera sp., And Soneratia sp. The plankton community in mangrove waters is composed of 13 types, while the abundance of plankton species (periphyton) attached to the mangrove roots consists of 6 types. The composition of plankton species which tends to be high indicates that the mangrove waters of Dusun Cemare are still feasible to sustain the survival of the associated biota in it.

Its crucial to get information about lead (Pb) heavy metal pollution from mining and oil palm plantation on species density in mangrove ecosystem, to anticipate its impacts. This study aimed is to compare the types and densities of vegetation in mangrove ecosystems allegedly due to mining in Setarap village, Tanah Bumbu Regency and oil palm plantations in Kuala Tambangan Village, Tanah Laut Regency. We also analysis the condition of waters (TDS, pH and DO) and organic content in sediments to acquire data from the South Kalimantan mangrove ecosystems. The results showed there were four species of true mangroves (Avicennia alba, Acanthus ebracteatus, Nypa fruticans and Rhizophora apiculate) could live well in the environment affected by mining or oil palm plantations. The species density for trees was low (933 ind/ha) for mangroves affected by coal mines, while those affected by oil palm plantations had higher densities (1,067 ind/ha). pH value of waters in affected area by coal mining showed more acidic value (pH 5.76) especially at the back, while those by palm oil plantations are more acidic (pH 6) in the estuary. Organic matter content in sediments affected by coal mines was in the range of 0.61-6.59%, while those affected by oil palm plantations showed higher values (0.12-2.19%). Lead heavy metal content (Pb) in waters affected by coal mines was 0.031-0.056 mg/L, while the area affected by oil palm plantations was of higher value (0.110-0.128 mg/L). Lead (Pb) levels in sediments indicate higher values than waters, which reach 3.512-6.046 mg/Kg (affected by coal mines), and in areas affected by oil palm plantations reaching 6.658-6.66 mg/Kg. The general conclusion is that vegetation densities in areas affected by coal mines are lower than oil palm plantations. The level of lead  (Pb) pollution in the sediments is higher than in the waters.

The purpose of this study was to identify the potential of mangrove ecosystems as mangrove ecotourism objects and calculate suitability mangrove ecotourism in the village Kahyapu Enggano . This research was conducted using survey methods, measurements in the field and ecological suitability determination based on the multiplication of weights and scores obtained from any of the parameters consisting of five parameters: the thickness of the mangrove , mangrove density , types of mangrove , tidal and biota object . Mangrove ecosystem in the Village Kahyapu Enggano has the potential to be developed as an ecotourism mangrove . Based on the results, the results of IKW ( Travel Suitability Index ) at the stations I 60 % category S2 (Match ) , Station II 66 % category S2 (Match ) and Station III 71 % category S2 (Match ).

Fauna diversity, production potential and total economic value of mangrove ecosystems in Mentawir Village, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 21: 1940-1953. Mangroves play important role in life. The benefits of the mangrove ecosystem consist of ecological and socio-economic values. However, it is a challenge to discern how the mangrove ecosystem provides a comprehensive economic value. This research is aimed to analyze the Total Economic Value (TEV) of mangrove ecosystems in Mentawir Village, North Penajam Paser District, East Kalimantan Province. This aim will be achieved by conducting fauna inventory, analysis of mangrove wood production potential, social-economic interviews, and infrastructure cost analysis as the inputs to calculate four elements (i.e. Direct Use Value, Indirect Use Value, Option Value, and Existence Value) to sum up the TEV. The research used a mixed-method combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. Fauna inventory was conducted using boat survey method and interviews with local fishermen. Data on mangrove wood production was obtained using the systematic random sampling method by establishing two plots with an area of one hectare for each plot to calculate mean annual increment (MAI) and current annual increment (CAI). The economic value of the mangrove ecosystem was calculated using market price values, replacement costs, and the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). The results of fauna inventory consisted of 3 species of mammals, 1 species of reptile, 16 species of birds, 25 types of fish, 8 species of crustaceans, and 7 species of mollusks. The economic valuation resulted in the contribution of direct use value with 39.56% in the form of wood (94,875,000,000 IDR) and fishery products (103,500,000,000 IDR); indirect use value with 53.47% in the form of breakwater (38,028,881,407 IDR), abrasion resistance (218,549,528,110 IDR), and carbon sequestration (11,580,313,067); option value with 6.92% in the form of biodiversity (34,690,085,038 IDR); and existence value with 0.05% (241,500,000 IDR). All these resulted in the total economic value (TEV) of the mangrove ecosystem in Mentawir Village of 501,465,307,621 IDR. Therefore, this value can be the basis for policymakers in managing natural resources so that the ecosystem is more protected and sustainable, and can continue to provide environmental services for the welfare of the community.

Strategy For Development of Untia Archipelago Fishing Area Based on Ecotourism In The City of Makassar This research was conducted from August 5, 2019 to September 5, 2019, aimed at identifying the potential of ecotourism in the Untia VAT Area mangrove ecosystem, analyzing the suitability of the Untia VAT Area mangrove ecotourism, and determining the strategy of developing mangrove ecotourism in the Untia VAT Area. Data collection was carried out through field surveys and interviews using questionnaires. Data analysis uses area suitability analysis for coastal tourism, mangrove tourism category and SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicate that the potential for ecotourism in the mangrove ecosystem Untia VAT Area is a mangrove area included in the appropriate category to be used as an ecotourism area. The strategy of developing mangrove ecotourism in the Untia PPN Region is to increase human resources (HR), planting abrasion-resistant mangrove species in a sustainable manner, procurement of facilities and infrastructure to support tourism activities, and good cooperation among policy makers.

Tanjung Tedung Coastal Coast is located in Tanjung Pura Village, Sungai Selan Subdistrict, Bangka Tengah. Regency which has the potential to be developed into a mangrove ecowista area, because almost along the coastal area is overgrown with ecosystem mengrove. This study aims to identify the potential of mangrove ecosystems and calculate the Tourist Compatibility Index (IKW) potential of mangrove area as ecotourism area of mangrove. The data were collected from March to April 2018 in Tanjung Tedung Coastal Coast. The research method used is Purposive Sampling. Research area taken as many as 3 stations. The data analysis is based on tourism conformity index matrix (IKW). Data of mangrove tourism conformity parameter consisting of: mangrove thickness, mangrove density, mangrove species, tidal and biota object. The result of measurement of mangrove tourism match parameters are thickness at station I worth 303,57 m, station II worth 366,57 m and station III worth 1,061,44 m. Density of station I with value 0.11 ind / m². Station II worth 0.10 ind / m² and station III with value 0.16 ind / m². Found 9 Species of mangroves and other biota such as: fish, shrimp, crab, molluscs, reptiles, birds and other biota. The result of conformity analysis to be used as ecotourism area with IKW value of station I worth 78.95% with Appropriate category. Furthermore at station II IKW value is 78.95% with Appropriate category. and station III got the value of IKW worth 96.05% with category Very
