This article aims at analyzing determining aspects that must be incorporated in to the process of developing a strategy to control land development. It converses this objective by taking the increasing rate of agricultural land conversion in Mangupura urban area, of Badung Regency-Bali, as its case study. The study was carried out using a qualitative approach. The findings demonstrate the driving factors behind such a conversion are classified into four categories, including social, economical, environmental and regulatory forces. Learning from the dynamic of land development of Mangupura area, the study subsequently comes out with a conclusion that for efficiency and success, the strategy to control land use changes has to embrace two basic aspects of: (i) identification and clarification of instruments to regulate spatial changes, and (ii) the allocation of agency/s assigned to carry out the controlling roles. It is further emphasized that attempts to rule spatial development should take both of the aforementioned determining forces and basic aspects influencing the success of the control strategy, into account. Bangladesh is a land scarce country where per capita cultivated land is only 12.5 decimals. It is claimed that every year about one percent of farm land in the country is being converted to non-agricultural uses. The study is based mainly on field survey covering 2 villages (Narikel Baria and Baze Silinda) from 10 sub-urban villages around Rajshahi City Corporation under Paba Upazila of Rajshahi district. The study area was selected purposively and the respondents of this research work were selected randomly. The major focus was on to mention the general land use pattern of the area, estimates the agricultural land conversion besides determining the causes and consequences affecting such conversion. Both Narikel Baria and Baze Silinda villages were selected as study area because of its relatively higher growth in infrastructure. In order to fulfill the goal of this study, primary and secondary data were collected from various sources and to analyze and process of collected data the SPSS, Excel and Arc GIS software were used. Different types of descriptive statistics were applied for representing the analyzed data. It is observed that the land conversion form agriculture to non-agriculture allied in recent time is more than the previous time due to gradually increasing land demand in housing and relevant services which invites adverse impact on agricultural land as well as its dependent population. So, it is necessary to take integrated land-use planning to offer better options for the fulfillment of land demand both of housing and agricultural sectors. Land development analyses play a fundamental role in understanding how land use change shapes the land, depending on continuously changing social, economic, and environmental factors that reflect the interests in space. It is especially important to follow land use changes in rural areas due to their role in food security, environmental hazards, cultural landscape preservation, etc. Continuous analyses and monitoring of land use changes allow for the identification and prevention of negative trends in land use (over intensification, land fragmentation, etc.) that might affect biodiversity, change physical and chemical properties of soil, causing soil degradation, change the spatial balance, stability and natural equilibrium in the rural area. The use of the cross-tabulation matrix methodology was suggested for land use change analyses. The methodology, when the cross-tabulation matrix elements are correctly interpreted, allows us to gain as much insight as possible in the process of land use change. This approach enabled a detailed analysis of vineyards in Goriška brda, Slovenia. It was found that the existing methodology fails to analyse the location of change. For this reason, additional analyses of spatial distribution of change and of the locations where changes in space occur were suggested. The study demonstrated that the land use category of vineyards changes systematically, although seemingly randomly. By comparing land use categories over several time periods, the study determined that the size and speed of change varied across different time intervals. The identified land use changes were assessed in the context of their high pressure on agricultural land. The results of the analyses showed different trends shaping the typical agrarian landscape in Goriška brda.

Abstract This study analyzed the temporal and spatial changes in land use taking place in two adjacent river valleys, located within the Polish Carpathians. The land use in 1977 and 2009 was presented for selected areas. In one of the valleys, a dam has been operating since 1994 along with a retention reservoir, which is an additional factor influencing the direction and scale of the land use changes. An analysis using GIS techniques showed that the general directions of transformation in both valleys in the land use structure are similar but with different intensity. In studied valleys a decrease of area with agricultural land and gradual increase in the forested area have been observed. In the valley with the reservoir few more changes were noticed. The decrease of the forested area by 5.5% and farmland by 8.2% on the areas submerged by reservoir was observed. The strip fields pattern has been changed into more dispersed. The road network development was also observed, as well as the change of nature of residential/agricultural buildings into residential/recreational.

Footprints are powerful indicators for evaluating the impact of the bioeconomy of a country on environmental goods, domestically and abroad. In this study, we apply a hybrid approach combining a Multi-Regional Input-Output model and land use modelling to compute the agricultural land footprint (aLF). Furthermore, we added information on land-use change to the analysis and allocated land conversion to specific commodities. The German case study shows that the aLF abroad is larger by a factor of 2.5 to 3 than the aLF in Germany. In 2005 and 2010, conversion of natural and semi-natural land-cover types abroad allocated to Germany due to import increases was 2.5 times higher than the global average. Import increases to Germany slowed down in 2015 and 2020, reducing land conversion attributed to the German bioeconomy to the global average. The case study shows that the applied land footprint provides clear and meaningful information for policymakers and other stakeholders. The presented methodological approach can be applied to other countries and regions covered in the underlying database EXIOBASE. It can be adapted, also for an assessment of other ecosystem functions, such as water or soil fertility.

Land use changes in Greater Jakarta area are very dynamic because of the need for settlements and converting agricultural land. It indicates land use inconsistency regard to spatial plan that can cause land damage in the future. Land use which has potential inconsistency in the future are requires for land use control in this region. This study uses spatial analysis to look at the potential inconsistencies by comparing land use projection in the future in two scenarios that is with and without control by policies. Policies in this study are land suitability and forest allocation. The result shows that land use consistency with policies raise until 97,4 % but only 93.9 % without control by policies. Areas that could potentially have inconsistency in the future are Bogor, Bekasi, Tangerang and Jakarta North City for area which is directed as forest and buffer zones of cultivation.

The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The role of the Land Deed Official (PPAT) in registration of rights to land conversion of agricultural to non-agricultural to residential in Tegal. 2) The procedure of registration of land rights over the function of agricultural to non-agricultural to residential in Tegal. 3) Obstacles and solutions of conversion rights over agricultural land into non-agricultural to residential in Tegal. This study uses empirical juridical approach or socio-legal research. Data collected through literature, observation and interviews. Based on data analysis concluded that: 1) The role of PPAT in enrollment over the function of rights over agricultural land into non-agricultural to residential houses which provide information on the law relating to the procedure of land conversion and registration of land rights after deters conversion and the making of letters or deeds relating for their particular legal acts such as the breakdown of plot, behind the name, as well as buying and selling land. 2) The procedure of registration of land rights over the function of agricultural to non-agricultural to residential implemented through several stages of the formation of the assessment team, the assessment of land use change object, the trial of the determination, the recommendations and the issuance of a decision on approval of land use changes. 3) Obstacles and solutions in the conversion of agricultural land rights into non-agricultural to residential namely population growth, land agricultural diminishing and changing the status of land use. The solution in the conversion of rights over agricultural land into non-agricultural to residential houses of government is more emphasis on the rules on agricultural land and non-agricultural order later on agricultural land does not decrease faster than society itself should be aware of the importance of agricultural for food security community own.Keywords: Notary / PPAT; Role; Registration; Transfer Function; Land.

Abstrak Canggu adalah sebuah desa yang terletak di kabupaten Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung sebagai Daerah Pengembangan Badung Tengah yang memiliki kebijakan mempertahankan Badung Tengah sebagai daerah pertanian dalam arti luas dan mencegah konversi sawah. Pertanyaan penelitian dari penelitian ini adalah tentang dampak pariwisata terhadap konversi lahan. Pemilihan desa Canggu sebagai lokasi penelitian karena desa Canggu berada di tengah-tengah wilayah Badung sebagai daerah pertanian, alam dan budaya sebagai semangat pariwisata desa Canggu, desa Canggu dipengaruhi oleh pembangunan fasilitas akomodasi. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah sumber data kualitatif dan kuantitatif dari data primer dan sekunder. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan studi kepustakaan. Penentuan informan penelitian ini dimulai dengan menentukan informan pertama dan informan kunci. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Menurut hasil penelitian di desa Canggu didapat hasil sebagai berikut pengembangan pariwisata berdampak pada peningkatan konversi lahan pertanian, perubahan penggunaan lahan juga berdampak pada perubahan sosiokultural. Adapun lokasi penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan perkembangan pariwisata terhadap alih fungui lahan, hasil dari penelitian ini perkembangan pariwisata terhadap alih fungsi lahan berdampak pada kesejahtraan masyarakat Desa Canggu. Lahan yang dialih fungsikan dibangun Hotel, Homestay, Villa, Restoran, Laundry dan lain sebagainya yang menunjang ketertarikan wistawan, untuk berwisata ke Desa Canggu.  Alih fungsi lahan merupakan suatu tolok ukur untuk meningkatkan pendapatan ekonomi warga Desa canggu. Hal ini menyebabkan minat masyarakat menjadi meningkat untuk mengubah fungsi lahan mereka sebagai media penghubung perkembangan pariwisata tersebut. Faktor lain yang menyebabkan perubahan alih fungsi lahan di Desa Canggu adalah tingginya nilai permintaan dari wisatawan terhadap vasilitas yang disediakan. Kata kunci: Pariwisata dan alih fungsi lahan   Abstract Canggu is a village located in North Kuta district, Badung Regency as the Central Badung Development Area which has a policy of maintaining Central Badung as an agricultural area in the broad sense and conversion of rice fields. The research question of this research is about research on land conversion. The selection of the Canggu village as a research location is because the Canggu village is in the middle of the Badung area as an agricultural, natural and cultural area such as the spirit of tourism in the Canggu village, the Canggu village works with the construction of recreational facilities. The type of data in this study is the source of qualitative and quantitative data from primary and secondary data. Research data were collected through interviews and library research. The determination of the informants of this study begins with determining the first informant and key informant. The data analysis technique of this research is descriptive qualitative analysis. According to the results of research in the village of Canggu obtained the following results the development of tourism has an impact on increasing agricultural land conversion, land use changes also have an impact on sociocultural change. The research location is determined based on the development of tourism on land use change, the results of this study the development of tourism on land use change has an impact on the welfare of the people of Canggu Village. The land that has been converted has been built by hotels, homestays, villas, restaurants, laundry and others that support the interests of tourists, for a trip to Canggu Village. Transfer of land functions is a benchmark to increase the economic income of residents of Canggu Village. This causes the interest of the community to increase to change the function of their land as a media liaison with the development of tourism. Another factor causing changes in land use change in Canggu Village is the high value of requests from tourists for the facilities provided. Keywords: Tourism and land use change

Agricultural land resources have been the central issue for the Chinese government in its attempts to secure food and agricultural sustainability. Yet strict land use control does not protect the agricultural land from erosion by urban expansion. Identifying the specific patterns and mechanisms of the agricultural land conversion, thus, is critical for land management and related decision making. Based on the annual nominal 30 m land use/land cover datasets (called CLUD-A), this study goes below the national/regional level to examine agricultural land conversion in Chongqing from a multiscale perspective. At the metropolis and its subdivision’s scales, the volume of the conversion area has been generally increasing, from 122.40 km2 in 1980–1990, 162.26 km2 in 1990–2000, and 706.14 km2 in 2000–2010, to 684.83 km2 in 2010–2015. Such a conversion in the main city area and its surroundings far outweighed that in the rural outskirts, as 68.9% (1990–2000), 92.2% (2000–2010), and 82.7% (2010–2015) of the conversion happened in the former. Moreover, values of Gini coefficients and coefficient of variation (CV) based on the county/district scale (Gini [0.46, 0.64], CV [0.69, 0.99] throughout the four periods) are much lower than those based on the town/village scale (Gini [0.88, 0.94], CV [3.18, 4.47] throughout the four periods), suggesting the uneven extent of spatial distribution of the agricultural land conversion trickles down along with the downscale of administration: the lower the administrative level, the more severe the unbalance. The policy rationale behind this transition is also discussed. This research argues for tangible approaches to a sustainable rural-urban transformation.

For a more detailed assessment that also considers temporal dynamics and impacts of biomass use and trade, our newly developed set of indicators also captures changes of import patterns over time. The case study shows that our enhanced land footprint provides clear and meaningful information for policymakers and other stakeholders.
