In this article we carried out a systematic review of the specific literature on gender, published in Tempos e Espaços em Educação Journalbetween2014 and2019. The emphasis was on the methodological process that produced the different results found in the studies, based on the methodology of systematic review. Based on the selection of variables and inclusion/exclusion criteria, it was found that the specific gender literature published in Tempos e Espaços em Educação Journalsuggests a significant expansion in the scientific production of gender studies, contributing to the destabilization of norms, classifications and hierarchies in the field of Education.

Background: In recent years, the possibility of intervening humans with animal-assisted therapy (AAT) has been growing due to numerous physical, psychological, and social benefits provided to humanity, enabling them to maintain or improve their quality of life. There exist different animals through which this therapy can be performed. The purpose of this systematic review will focus on the effects of AAT in several neurological diseases. Methods: The search of clinical trials was carried out in the PubMed, Scielo, Embase and PEDro databases. The selection of articles was made according to the different inclusion and exclusion criteria, incorporating those that approached neurological diseases to be reviewed. Results: Twenty-five clinical trials were identified, seventeen of which were finally included in the review. The results indicate that animal-assisted therapy (AAT) in different neurological diseases has many benefits in several areas, for example, in motor and physical ability as well as in mental and behavioural health. Conclusions: This systematic review provides occupational therapy practitioners with evidence on the use of activity based on animal-assisted therapy as a novel field of intervention that can complement other therapies and obtain benefits in different populations.

Objective: To describe the methodological steps to carry out a systematic review of pharmaceutical interventions for smoking cessation. Review Method: The protocol for this Systematic Review was developed according to the recommendations of the Prism P guidelines. Will be used as exclusion criteria: comments, editorials, articles that were not in Portuguese, Spanish, and English or articles that were not available in full. Also, articles indexed repeatedly in two or more databases will only be considered once. Two independent reviewers will evaluate titles, abstracts and full texts. Differences in selection will be resolved through a third reviewer. Discussion: This review will aim to critically synthesize the clinical evidence surrounding pharmaceutical interventions for smoking cessation, including data on ethnicity, age, socioeconomic conditions, level of health care, and the intervention environment. Therefore, the use of validated procedures and instruments to assess pharmaceutical interventions in support of smoking patients is essential. Conclusion: This protocol aims to describe the methodological steps to carry out a systematic review of pharmaceutical interventions for smoking cessation, aiming to reduce biases in the search and selection of references, making these criteria clear and uniform among reviewers.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the association between anemia and the onset of the frailty syndrome amongst the elderly living in the community. Method: A systematic literature review of articles from the MEDLINE and LILACS databases published in English, Spanish and Portuguese over the last ten years was carried out. Articles were included in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Results: The search identified 193 studies. After deleting duplicated articles and applying the exclusion criteria only seven articles remained. Three articles used standardized criteria to define frailty, whereas four evaluated functional capacity as a synonym for the frailty syndrome. Conclusion: Anemia was related to a worsening of functional capacity and to the presence of the frailty syndrome in elderly persons living in the community. However, the risk of bias in the studies was high in relation to the selection of the criteria and instruments used to assess and define frailty.

Analysis of Brazilian scientific production about badminton: an integrative review.BACKGROUND: The present research of integrative review, focused on the sport Badminton, modality that integrates the family of racket sports and that has spread in the last decades due to its motivating and social participative character.OBJECTIVE: Analyze the national scientific production online about the sport Badminton from the search in the databases Lilacs, Medline, Portal Scielo and Portal de Periódicos CAPES.METHODS: For the survey of articles in the mentioned databases, the descriptor was used in a first survey: Badminton; and in a second moment the descriptors: Badminton “and” Racket Sports. A number of 17325 scientific productions were identified, which were analyzed based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in the selection of 13 articles at the end. The interpretation of the data was constituted by the technique of content analysis. RESULTS: After reading the articles in full, three categories of presentation of the results emerged: a) Mapping the authors of the selected production on Badminton; it being possible to verify that the authors have a link with the theme, their initial training takes place in the context of physical education, physiotherapy and medicine and with emphasis on the Northeast and Southeast regions, with the State University of Campinas being the institution with the largest number researchers on the theme; b) Methodological procedures covered in the selected production on Badminton; the predominance of quantitative research and data collection based on physical tests was found; c) Thematic focus of selected research on Badminton, with the emergence of performance sports and educational sports.CONCLUSION: The scientific production on Badminton presents a greater number of authors and articles in the Northeast and Southeast regions, with research guided under the quantitative method and directed, in the majority, to the context of performance sport. Thus, it is noted that the theme lacks studies focused on educational sport, since it was little explored, as well as for the practice of Badminton in the area of health and leisure (sport of participation), a category that does not appear in the scientific production analyzed.

AbstractObjective:To analyse the information on health claims present in the labelling of creatine monohydrate (CM) products.Design:A descriptive study of a selection of products marketed as CM, with health claims, and that met the inclusion/exclusion criteria, was conducted using the Amazon and Google Shopping websites. The adequacy and compliance of the health claims were evaluated with the European legislative requirements (European Food Safety Authority and European Commission). The results were discussed with scientific evidence criteria from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, International Olympic Committee, and International Society of Sports Nutrition, as well as the systematic review carried out by Mielgo-Ayuso in 2019.Setting:Health claims in the commercial communications of a sample of CM supplements, in relation to current legislation and scientific knowledge.Participant:A total of 554 CM products were obtained. Results:Of the total sample, only 167 met the inclusion/exclusion criteria. Of these, 30·5 % recommended a CM dose of 5·0–5·9 g/d, while 29·9 % recommended 3·0 to 3·9 g/d. As for the health claims, ‘Enhances physical performance’ appeared in 73·1 % of the supplements, in most cases referring to a dosage of 3·0 to 3·9 g/d for these products. The rest of the declarations were not adequate or needed to be modified. Conclusion:Only 25 % of the health claims complied with the criteria established by the scientific reference documents. Most of the declarations must be modified or eliminated, as they could be considered fraudulent and/or misleading for the consumer.

Background: Natural products are commonly used for treating health problems. These products may be associated with adverse events, which are defined as "noxious and unintended response to a medicinal product" by the European Medicine Agency. Objectives: To identify studies describing at least one adverse event (or with potential to promote an adverse event) related to the use of natural products, as well as to describe the involved product(s) and adverse event(s). Methods: A pre-systematic review following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses criteria. Keywords: "natural product(s)" and ["adverse drug reaction(s)" or "adverse effect(s)"]. Screened databases: PubMed, SciELO, DOAJ and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria: papers describing at least one adverse event associated with the use of natural products and published between 2017 and 2019. Exclusion criteria: Repeated studies, reviews and papers written in other languages than English, Portuguese, French or Spanish. Results: 104 studies were identified (20 PubMed; 0 SciELO; 2 DOAJ; 82 Google Scholar), but only 10 were selected (4 PubMed and 6 Google Scholar): 1 in-vitro study; 2 non-clinical studies, 1 study reporting in-vitro and clinical data and 5 studies were cases reports. Globally, 997 reports of adverse drug reactions with natural products were identified, mainly non-severe cases. Conclusion: Since a limited number of studies was found, we conclude that adverse events due to natural products may be underreported, or natural products may have a good safety profile. This review contributes for assuring the safety of natural products consumers, by evaluating the knowledge/information on the potential adverse events and interactions of these products.

AbstractThis systematic review aimed to contribute to a better and more focused understanding of the link between the concept of resilience and psychosocial interventions in the migrant population. The research questions concerned the type of population involved, definition of resilience, methodological choices and which intervention programmes were targeted at migrants. In the 90 articles included, an heterogeneity in defining resilience or not well specified definition resulted. Different migratory experiences were not adequately considered in the selection of participants. Few resilience interventions on migrants were resulted. A lack of procedure’s descriptions that keep in account specific migrants’ life-experiences and efficacy’s measures were highlighted.

Abstract Background Despite an increasing number of available mental health apps in the bipolar disorder field, these tools remain scarcely implemented in everyday practice and are quickly discontinued by patients after downloading. The aim of this study is to explore adherence characteristics of bipolar disorder patients to dedicated smartphone interventions in research studies. Methods A systematic review following PRISMA guidelines was conducted. Three databases (EMBASE, PsychInfo and MEDLINE) were searched using the following keywords: "bipolar disorder" or "mood disorder" or “bipolar” combined with “digital” or “mobile” or “phone” or “smartphone” or “mHealth” or “ehealth” or "mobile health" or “app” or “mobile-health”. Results Thirteen articles remained in the review after exclusion criteria were applied. Of the 118 eligible studies, 39 did not provide adherence characteristics. Among the selected papers, study length, sample size and definition of measures of adherence were strongly heterogeneous. Activity rates ranged from 58 to 91.6%. Conclusion The adherence of bipolar patients to apps is understudied. Standardised measures of adherence should be defined and systematically evaluated in future studies dedicated to these tools.
