Abstract. Currently the aeronautical industry demand human resource that is highly competitive with excellent abilities, skills and job skills that allow the growth of this industry in Mexico. UANL offers the educational program in Aeronautical Engineering and because is a program designed under the new competency-based education model, it is necessary to measure the employability of students working under this new teaching-learning process, such as is achieved and even provide feedback to continually improve any area of opportunity in the transition of students during their training. This research presents a cause-effect model where independent variables are considered classified generic competencies: instrumentals, social interaction and integrative, and the dependent variable initial workforce readiness. Todefine the variables, objectives and hypotheses we did an analysis of competency-based international models. Variables were operationalized to design and determine the reliability of the measuring instrument performing the content validity with 12 experts on the competency model. To test the hypothesis of educational program were selected 103 students usingPhase I, II and III as field study. Phase I is an assessment of students, Phase II is an evaluation with teachers and Phase III is the opinion of employers. Finally, we present the results of analysis of the direct influence of generic skills: instrumentals, social interaction and integrative and professional-labor performance work called initial workforce readiness.Keywords: employability, generic competencies, initial workforce readinessResumen. Actualmente la industria Aeronáutica demanda recurso humano que sea altamente competitivo con excelentes capacidades, destrezas y aptitudes laborales que permitan el crecimiento de esta industria en México. En la UANL se oferta el programa educativo de Ingeniero en Aeronáutica y por ser un programa diseñado bajo el nuevo modelo educativo basado en competencias, es necesario medir la empleabilidad de los estudiantes  que trabajan bajo este nuevo proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, de tal forma de que se logre mejorar continuamente e inclusive retroalimentar cualquier área de oportunidad en el tránsito de estudiantes durante su formación. En esta investigación se plantea un modelo causa-efecto en el que se consideran como variables independientes las competencias genéricas clasificadas en: instrumentales, de interacción social e integradoras; y la variable dependiente la empleabilidad laboral inicial. Se realizó un análisis de los modelos internacionales basados en competencias, definiéndose las variables, los objetivos y las hipótesis. Se operacionalizaron las variables para diseñar y determinar la confiabilidad del instrumento de medición realizándose la validez de contenido con 12 expertos sobre el modelo por competencias. Para probar las hipótesis se seleccionaron 103 estudiantes del PE aplicando Fase I, II y III como estudio de campo. La Fase I es una evaluación de estudiantes, la Fase II es evaluación con profesores y la Fase III es la opinión de los empleadores. Finalmente se presentan los resultados del análisis sobre la influencia directa entre las competencias genéricas: instrumentales, de interacción social e integradoras y el desempeño profesional-laboral llamado empleabilidad laboral inicial.Palabras clave: competencias genéricas, empleabilidad, empleabilidad laboral inicial

PURPOSE: Increasingly, cancer treatment centers need to be able to estimate specific costs and resources associated with clinical trials. Because the time requirements of trial coordination and data collection are not well known, the Clinical Research Associates (CRA) Committee of the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group carried out a multicenter study to measure trials’ task times and evaluate the effects of certain factors. METHODS: A data collection instrument was designed and validated before its implementation in the study. Eighty-three CRAs from 24 cancer treatment institutions across Canada collected timing observations of 41 tasks (156 subtasks). Information from all stages of trials activity (protocol management, eligibility and entry, treatment, and follow-up and final stage) was obtained, from initial negotiations to follow-up after study closure. RESULTS: After controlling for stage, phase and sponsor were found to be significant independent factors. Analysis within the stages showed similar patterns. New drug inclusion as a factor was confounded with phase. Industry-sponsored studies had significantly higher overall mean times than did local and cooperative group studies. Early-phase studies required more time than did phase III trials. External sponsorship of any kind increased CRA time more than that necessary for locally coordinated studies, except during the protocol management stage. The burden of a phase I study increased to greater than average once underway and accruing patients. CONCLUSION: Our data demonstrated that sponsor and study phase are important factors to be taken into consideration when estimating clinical trial costs and resource use.

IntroductionBecoming a parent is one of the most significant events an individual will experience in their lifetime. The postpartum period can be a difficult time, especially for mothers, who may require extra support during this challenging time. The proposed study seeks to understand the issue of postpartum support for mothers and their families. It will address this aim by using the Mothercraft Ottawa Postpartum Support Drop-in Program as real-life illustration of a community-based service organisation delivering these services.Methods and analysisA three-phased mixed-method programme evaluation guided by the Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance (RE-AIM) evaluation framework and the tenets of community-based participatory research. Instrumental case study methodology will be employed to gain an in-depth understanding of what impact(s) the programme is having on mothers, their partners and their families (phase I-qualitative). A questionnaire, regression modelling, and geospatial analysis will be conducted to gain a deeper understanding of specific programme outputs and to generate information that will help inform programme reach (phase II-quantitative). Study phase III will focus on knowledge translation activities to stakeholders and the broader academic community.Ethics and disseminationEthics approval was granted by the University of Ottawa Research Ethics Board (H-12-18-1492). The results of this study will be disseminated at a community workshop, in an academic thesis, at academic conferences and in peer-reviewed publications.

IntroductionSomali-born women comprise a large group of immigrant women of childbearing age in Sweden, with increased risks for perinatal morbidity and mortality and poor experiences of care, despite the goal of providing equitable healthcare for the entire population. Rethinking how care is provided may help to improve outcomes.Overall aimTo develop and test the acceptability, feasibility and immediate impacts of group antenatal care for Somali-born immigrant women, in an effort to improve experiences of antenatal care, knowledge about childbearing and the Swedish healthcare system, emotional well-being and ultimately, pregnancy outcomes. This protocol describes the rationale, planning and development of the study.Methods and analysisAn intervention development and feasibility study. Phase I includes needs assessment and development of contextual understanding using focus group discussions. In phase II, the intervention and evaluation tools, based on core values for quality care and person-centred care, are developed. Phase III includes the historically controlled evaluation in which relevant outcome measures are compared for women receiving individual care (2016–2018) and women receiving group antenatal care (2018–2019): care satisfaction (Migrant Friendly Maternity Care Questionnaire), emotional well-being (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale), social support, childbirth fear, knowledge of Swedish maternity care, delivery outcomes. Phase IV includes the process evaluation, investigate process, feasibility and mechanisms of impact using field notes, observations, interviews and questionnaires. All phases are conducted in collaboration with a stakeholder reference group.Ethics and disseminationThe study is approved by the Regional Ethical Review Board, Stockholm, Sweden. Participants receive information about the study and their right to decline/withdraw without consequences. Consent is given prior to enrolment. Findings will be disseminated at antenatal care units, national/international conferences, through publications in peer-reviewed journals, seminars involving stakeholders, practitioners, community and via the project website. Participating women will receive a summary of results in their language.

SUMMARYAnthelmintics are the cornerstone of parasitic helminth control. Surprisingly, understanding of the biochemical pathways used by parasitic helminths to detoxify anthelmintics is fragmented, despite the increasing global threat of anthelmintic resistance within the ruminant and equine industries. Reductionist biochemistry has likely over-estimated the enzymatic role of glutathione transferases in anthelmintic metabolism and neglected the potential role of the cytochrome P-450 superfamily (CYPs). Proteomic technologies offers the opportunity to support genomics, reverse genetics and pharmacokinetics, and provide an integrated insight into both the cellular mechanisms underpinning response to anthelmintics and also the identification of biomarker panels for monitoring the development of anthelmintic resistance. To date, there have been limited attempts to include proteomics in anthelmintic metabolism studies. Optimisations of membrane, post-translational modification and interaction proteomic technologies in helminths are needed to especially study Phase I CYPs and Phase III ABC transporter pumps for anthelmintics and their metabolites.
