Relevance of the research topic. Evaluation of changes in the index characteristics of oral hygiene, physicochemical parameters of mixed saliva (pH, buffer capacity of saliva, redox potential, osmolality and others) allows to determine the quality of the effect of toothpaste «Рarodontax ultra clean» on the state of the oral cavity. The use of mixed saliva as a biological fluid of the body as an object of study is confrmed by its high information content and availability of diagnostic material. Studies of changes in mixed saliva, whose components affect the composition, accumulation of microbial plaque and the process of its calcifcation are appropriate.Purpose. То evaluate the clinical effcacy of toothpaste «Рarodontax ultra clean», the complex effect of its components on the tissues of the teeth and of fabric of parоdontium, to determine the possible mechanism of anti-inflammatory action.Materials and methods. The experiment involved 58 people. The clinical examination included: Green-Vermillion hygiene indices; bleeding, gingivitis, parоdontium indices. Laboratory studies of unstimulated mixed saliva included parameters: qualitative analysis of the secret, a number of physico-chemical parameters; crystallographic characteristics. For an integrated assessment of nonspecific resistance of the oral cavity, the reaction of adsorption of microorganisms by epithelial cells was used.Results. In the course of use by patients of toothpaste «Рarodontax ultra clean», an improvement in the oral hygiene condition was noted, a decrease in the rate of plaque formation was diagnosed in 100% of cases, which is clinically confrmed by positive dynamics of hygiene indices (p < 0.05). With regular use of toothpaste, the inflammation of the gums decreases: after 7 days the bleeding of the gums decreases twice, after 14 days - 4.5 times. Summary. The use of toothpaste «Рarodontax ultra clean» leads to a qualitative transformation of the structure of mixed saliva in patients: an improvement in microcrystallization, an increase in salivation, an increase in pH values and bringing it into the range of normal values, an increase in buffer capacity and osmolality. Ingredients such as sodium bicarbonate, silicon dioxide and sodium fluoride contribute to the improvement of metabolic processes in the oral cavity and the adsorption properties of the epithelium after exposure to the investigated toothpaste.

Mukha (oral cavity) is considered as a gateway for the alimentary canal, health of the oral cavity reflects the body health as healthy oral cavity aids in proper digestion of the food consumed. The oral cavity also takes part in bodi- ly functions like respiration and speech. It also contributes to the beauty and confidence of an individual. Mukha is comprised of Osta (lips), Dantamula (Gums), Danta (Tooth), Jinhva (Tongue), Taalu (Palate), Gala (Throat). Since the Oral cavity is constantly exposed to the external environment, there are more chances of trauma and infections. Hence to avoid the chances of oral cavity diseases it is very important to maintain good oral hygiene. Kriyakalpa is the therapeutic procedure applied locally and are considered under bahirparimarjana chikitsa. Ka- vala, Gandusha and Pratisarana are kriyakalpas explained for good oral hygiene. These can be used as a daily regimen to maintain good oral hygiene and in mukharoga as therapeutic procedures. These mukha kriyakalpa- due to their cleaning action and by increasing defence mechanism, promotes oral health and prevents many oral disorders. Various formulations for mukha kriyakalpa are available for a healthy person based on prakriti and for treatment based on vitiated dosha avastha. Keywords: Mukha kriyaklpa, Oral hygiene, kavala, Gandusha, Pratisarana.

Aim. To assess the effectiveness of the use of therapeutic and prophylactic toothpastes containing hydroxyapatite nanoparticles or sodium fluoride in patients with non-carious lesions. Methods. Mixed saliva was studied in 40 individuals. All subjects were divided into three groups. Group 1 (n=15) used toothpaste №1 containing zinc citrate and sodium fluoride for tooth brushing, group 2 (n=15) brushed teeth with a paste №2 with hydroxyapatite nanoparticles which contained materials removing dental plaque due to antioxidant β-glycyrrhetinic acid possessing anti-inflammatory activity. The control group included 10 subjects with healthy oral cavity. Hyperesthesia of teeth was assessed using Shiff air sensitivity scale, indices of prevalence of tooth hyperesthesia and intensity of tooth hyperesthesia in %, periodontal condition (papillary marginal alveolar index) in % and the oral hygiene score were determined. The activity of lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase (U/l) before and after tooth brushing with toothpastes containing hydroxyapatite particles or sodium fluoride, was also measured. Results. After tooth brushing with both pastes for three months, a decrease of tooth hyperesthesia was observed, as evidenced by the values of Shiff test, index of prevalence of hyperesthesia and intensity of tooth hyperesthesia. Oral hygiene and periodontal state improved. The best effect was observed with a paste №2, containing anti-inflammatory and abrasive components and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles. This is confirmed by a decrease of the activity of lactate dehydrogenase present in anaerobic bacteria, as well as activity of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase, reflecting a decrease of inflammation in the periodontal tissues. Conclusion. Use of toothpastes containing hydroxyapatite nanoparticles or sodium fluoride reduces hyperesthesia of the enamel and inflammation in the periodontium and is accompanied by decreased activity of enzymes in mixed saliva.

Oral health among the elderly population is an integral part of their overall health. Good oral health facilitates effective chewing, contributes positively to speech, social confidence and is associated with better cognitive and functional capacity in the elderly. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) it is generally acceptable if older patients have about 20 functional teeth in the oral cavity. Toothlessness is today seen as a physical disability, as the imperative part of the body is lost and this in turn affects patients' personal satisfaction. The main goal of this research was to determinate the prosthetic status and the need for prosthetic rehabilitation at the elderly in the city of Strumica, Macedonia, and as specific goals were set as follows: to assess the overall oral health of patients, including the frequency of visiting a dentist, to determine oral hygiene habits; to determine the number of lost teeth associated with the patients’ age; to determine the type of prosthetic appliance and their current state in the patients' mouth; to indicate negative and positive criticism and the level of satisfaction of patients from prosthetic devices (in terms of aesthetics); to determine the type of diet and general health status of patients; to determine the status of total prostheses in terms of retention, stabilization, extension and occlusion. The study included 40 patients from Strumica aged 50 to 75 years, 18 women and 22 men. The presented data were obtained from the research conducted in the period from 20.06.2018 to 30.08.2018 in which the following procedures were performed: anamnestic data, clinical examination and completing a questionnaire by patients.Based on the data obtained, their analysis, and the results of our research, we can make the following conclusions: Hygiene habits and attitudes may be related to gender distribution, level of education, and they do not always produce positive results; Education is one of the most important factors contributing to patients' awareness of their health and the need for regular check-ups in dental practice and daily oral hygiene; General illnesses often play a major role in the oral cavity, and poor habits such as smoking, alcohol consumption and other harmful products, including diet, are major contributing factors to caries and periodontal disease leading to tooth loss; With increasing age, patients have a growing number of lost teeth and their awareness of replacing them is linked to both aesthetic and functional aspects; The dentist should always take care to preserve the natural teeth in the patient's mouth, to get the most out of the situation and to seek the most appropriate prosthetic rehabilitation and prosthetic compensation.

Treatment of periodontal diseases is one of the most difficult and important problems of modern dentistry, the relevance of which is due to the high frequency of inflammatory periodontal diseases among the population in all age groups - up to 90% in the population. Despite the progressive development of medical science and practice, the incidence of this pathology remains at a high level not only in middle-aged and elderly population groups, but at the same time a tendency towards its spread at a young age is revealed. Studies conducted by WHO in more than 30 countries have revealed a high prevalence of periodontal disease (over 60%) among patients aged 18 to 30 years. The most common form of damage to the periodontal tissues at a young age is chronic gingivitis according to the SKB-10 K 05.1 classification. Irregular prophylaxis and occasional visits to a periodontist for the treatment of periodontitis complicate the course of the disease, which progresses in the absence of treatment. In this regard, the patient is required to undergo repeated courses of treatment with a periodontist and to perform preventive measures at home on the recommendation of a doctor. However, it was found that the degree of compliance of young patients to dental treatment is not high enough, and the frequency of visits to a periodontist in 62% is limited by pronounced stomatophobia. It is known that the development of periodontitis is the result of an imbalance between the microflora of the oral cavity and the body's immune defenses. Immunological changes in chronic catarrhal gingivitis are associated with a violation of the interaction of factors of nonspecific resistance of the organism, changes in cellular and humoral immunity and suppression of the local immunity system. Therefore, in order to eliminate inflammation, various immunocorrectors and antibacterial agents (antiseptics, antibiotics, herbal medicines) are used. However, recently there have been forms of periodontitis caused by atypical infectious agents (viruses, fungi), or resistant to antibiotic therapy. As a result of the irrational use of antimicrobial drugs, which negatively affect the representatives of the obligate microflora of the oral cavity, they further reduce the local factors of antibacterial protection. An alternative to antibiotic therapy for periodontal diseases are various methods of biotherapeutic action, involving the local and systemic use of probiotics, phage preparations and other agents. At the same time, such studies in domestic dentistry are rare, as well as studies to improve the degree of correspondence between the patient's behavior and the recommendations received from the doctor

Oral hygiene plays an important role in keeping the body healthy. Oral cavity is in direct contact with the external environment, due to which it is natural to have bacterial growth in the mouth, but by adopting the measures of oral hygiene, bacterial growth can be easily prevented and keep body healthy. In Ayurvedic classical texts Kawal & Gandoosha are described under the heading of Dincharaya, which not only keep oral cavity disease free but also healthy too. These procedures are essential for maintaining and promoting oral hygiene. By seeing these benefits, Government of India include Kawal (oil pulling) in the National Ayurveda Protocol for the management of covid-19.

Object. The paper analyzes the change in the physical and chemical properties of mixed saliva in patients with the course of use of toothpaste "Sensodyne® Recovery and protection" containing NovaMin and sodium fluoride. The analysis of the survey of organoleptic properties of toothpaste, clinical examination of patients with hyperesthesia and laboratory parameters of mixed saliva in dynamics was carried out. Purpose. Rationale for the use of therapeutic and prophylactic toothpaste "Sensodyne® Recovery and protection" with sodium fluoride for sensitive teeth in young patients. Methodology. A clinical examination of the oral cavity of young patients (50 men, mean age of 22.50±2.59 years), index estimation of a condition of the teeth (CPUs, municipal production unitary enterprise), oral hygiene (J. R. Green, J. R. Vermillion, 1964), the determination of "teeth sensitivity" (method L. Y. Nut–Litovskogo S. B.); the study of mixed saliva (qualitative analysis, salumeria; concentration of fluorine ions and sodium, pH, redox potential, total zhestkost) exchange rate before and after application of toothpaste. Results. A pronounced clinical effect was obtained, which manifests itself in the cleansing qualities (p≤0.05), and in the elimination of hyperesthesia (p≤0.05) in all patients. The increase of pH values (p≤0.05) was revealed. After cleaning in the sample of mixed saliva, the concentration of fluoride ions increases by 22%, the content of sodium ions decreases by 35.4%, the content of calcium and magnesium ions decreases. This contributes to the formation of stable fluorapatite Ca5(PO4)3F in the surface layers of enamel. calcium ions from phosphosilicate calcium-sodium (NovaMin) go directly from the toothpaste "Sensodyne® repair and protect" with the sodium fluoride in the construction of the hydroxyapatite of tooth enamel. Summary. Thus, the analysis of the results of the survey evaluation of the organoleptic properties of toothpaste "Sensodyne® Recovery and protection" containing sodium fluoride, which are estimated to be highly valued, clinical examination of patients with hyperesthesia and laboratory parameters of mixed saliva in dynamics, showed a significant clinical effect: improving the cleaning ability of toothpaste, reducing the sensitivity of teeth in 100% of patients.

As oral cavity is considered as the gateway to the body. The shape, coating, color and texture of oral cavity can give clues to overall health especially related to digestive system. So, oral hygiene is of prime im-portance which has significant impact on quality of life. The Global Burden of Disease Study 2016 esti-mated that oral diseases affected at least 3.58 billion people worldwide, with caries of the permanent teeth being the most prevalent of all conditions assessed. Ayurveda, the life science, mentions Dinacharya, a very unique and important aspect of lifestyle. In dinacharya, acharyas recommended dantadhavana, jiwha nirlekhana and kavala-gandusha vidhis pertaining to oral cavity. Nowadays, in this modern busy life with many unhealthy habits, incorporation of these procedures proves helpful in maintaining the heathy status of oral cavity and preventing its diseases. This paper focuses on the role of dantadhavana, jiwha nirlekhana and kavala-gandusha in promoting the health by maintaining the hygiene of the oral cavity.
