Introduction. Vibration is one of the leading unfavourable physical factors of the working environment and leads to vibration disease (VD) development. The study of metabolic profiles of markers of fatty acids (FA) metabolism is one of the directions in the early diagnosis of vascular diseases and metabolic syndrome (MS), caused, among other things, by exposure to vibration. The aim of this work is to study the spectrum of esterified fatty acids of the omega-3 and omega-6 families in the blood of patients with vibration disease (VD) and combination with metabolic syndrome (MS). Materials and methods. The study involved 66 people, divided into two groups: Group I - 34 patients with an established diagnosis of VD; Group II - 32 patients with an established diagnosis of VD in combination with metabolic syndrome (MS). The levels of esterified forms (EF) of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of the ω-3 and ω-6 families in blood plasma samples were determined using the method of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry on an Agilent 7890A gas chromatograph with an Agilent 5975C mass selective detector. Results. The distribution of quantitative indices of PUFA of the ω-3 and ω-6 families in the examined groups was studied. In VD patients with MS, compared with VD patients, there was a statistically significant increase in the level of eicosapentaenoic, α-linolenic acids of the ω-3 family, the sum of ω-3 PUFAs, γ-linolenic and linoleic acids of the ω-6 family. Conclusion. The study of the quantitative indices of EF of the families ω-3 and ω-6 in the blood plasma of VD patients with MS showed the levels of ω-6 to be 4.5-5.4 times statistically higher than the levels of ω-3 fatty acids.

The parameters of lipid metabolism in connection with the nutrition of the indigenous population of the Altai Mountains were evaluated. High consumption of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids was found, which in men is inversely proportional to the concentration of cholesterol in blood plasma. This pattern indicates the activity of the system that provides lipid homeostasis.

Coordination of physiological activity and intensity of metabolism in various organs and tissues of a productive animal, depending on environmental conditions and own needs, is provided by the regulatory activity of the corresponding nerve centers. However, the features of the autonomic regulation of the nervous system in this matter can have a significant impact not only on the physiological activity of animals but also on their productivity. Therefore, the question of studying the influence of autonomic regulation on the animal body in general and the interaction of the autonomic system and lipid metabolism is quite relevant. Groups of animals were formed by determining the state of the cardiovascular system according to Baevskyi. Blood plasma was used for the study, lipid extraction was performed by the Folch method. Fatty acid analysis was performed on a Trace GC Ultra gas chromatograph (USA) with a flame ionization detector. Studies have shown that the relative content of saturated fatty acids in blood of normotonics was the highest compared with other groups: sympathotonics – by 1.9%; vagotonics – 0.48%. Regarding the concentration of saturated fatty acids in sympathotonics, it should be noted that the content of stearic acid was the highest (18.07 ± 0.01; P < 0.001) and saturated fatty acids from C6 to C16 were characterized by the lowest values (P < 0.01–0.05) in comparison with other groups The total content of unsaturated fatty acids in blood plasma of sympathotonics and vagotonics was 1.19% and 0.49% higher, respectively, compared with normotonics. Quite interesting is the fact that sympathotonics were characterized by the highest content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, the content of which decreased in the range C18:2n6 > C20:4n6 > C18:3n3 > C22:6n3 > C22:5n3, a similar sequence we observed in other groups, although the relative concentration of acids could fluctuate. Normotonics were characterized by the highest levels of some polyunsaturated fatty acids (C18:3n3, C22:5n3, C22:6n3) (P < 0.05-0.01), while levels of some unsaturated fatty acids (C18: 1n9, C20: 3n6) were the lowest. Thus, the type of nervous activity has a significant effect on the ratio of fatty acids in blood plasma of cows and autonomous regulation affects the metabolic processes in the animal’s body.

Purpose. To study magnesium status of patients having paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) based on the use of an integrated clinical and laboratory approach. Methods. A prospective cohort study included 58 patients of the cardiology department of New Hospital Medical Association. The main group consisted of 32 patients having frequently recurring paroxysmal AF, the control group consisted of 26 patients without paroxysmal rhythm disturbance. The clinical status, Holter ECG monitoring data, the test results for magnesium deficiency (MD) clinical evidence, laboratory evidence of calcium, magnesium in blood plasma and formed elements, magnesium in whole blood, free fatty acids (FFA) and osmolality in blood plasma were assessed. Results. The score obtained when assessing MD clinical evidence was significantly higher in the main group patients compared with the control group (16.5 (11÷21) vs. 13 (8÷15), p<0.001). A statistically significant magnesium decrease in whole blood was revealed in patients having paroxysmal AF (0.54 (0.46÷0.60) vs. 0.61 (0.59÷0.64), p<0.001) and inside formed elements (0.68 (0.53÷1.07) vs. 1.31 (1.07÷1.44), p<0.001), which reflected changes in their magnesium status to a greater extent than the measured plasma cation concentrations. A close correlation between magnesium content in formed elements (intracellularly) and AF paroxysms frequency (Spearman’s rank correlation -0.51, p<0.001) was established. A violation of calcium to magnesium ratio in blood plasma (2.6 (2.5÷2.9) vs. 3.0 (2.8÷3.1), p=0.004) and intracellularly (4.85 (2.62÷9.3) vs. 1.85 (1.57÷2.07), p<0.001) was revealed in patients having AF. It has been shown that complex forming interactions with free fatty acids may affect intracellular calcium and magnesium content.
