    The study identifies the nitrate (NO3) and nitrite (NO2) content in leafy vegetables (parsley, chard, coriander) in three agricultural areas in Zliten (Azdo, Dafniya, Madjer) using the colorimeter dr / 980 device, and assesses whether the content is within the comparatively with allowable concentrations. The results obtained from this study show that the nitrate concentrations in all samples examined are within the global standards, with the highest level of 5.5 ppm found in chard samples collected from the area of Azdo. As for nitrite, the concentrations found in the studied samples are higher than nitrate concentrations. Overall, the nitrate and nitrite content are found to be within the permitted concentrations based on international standards, where the highest concentration of nitrite of 60 ppm is recorded in parsley samples from the Dafniya area.

Nitrates are natural components of the surface water, the amounts in surface waters is very important, usually being insignificant, but in urban area and along agricultural areas situated inside the river basin, their concentration is increased, being non-point sources and point sources located in the city. The nitrate concentrations is influenced both by the seasonal changes of rainfall and temperature as well as by land-use transformations, the variation being closely related to them. This paper presents the nitrate trends during seasons, the samples was taken in December, April and June from 76 points, the influence of the season characteristics being obvious. Obtained data indicates an upward trend, so that nitrate concentrations increase from December to June, higher values registered on tributaries of Bahlui river, caused by of the land-use, smaller flow and seasons variation of other physic-chemical parameters, otherwise the synergistic action of the natural and anthropic sources and parameters. Arc GIS software was used for illustrate the results followed by a statistics software were used to establish some correlations based on multivariate analysis. The analysis shows that non-point and anthropic sources of nitrates, influence nitrate regime during the succession of the seasons, nitrate levels almost doubled in surface water, or even higher in Bahlui river and its tributaries.

The aim of this research was to investigate along four weeks the nitrate and nitrite levels in commercial samples of leafy vegetables (lettuce, watercress, spinach, and rocket) of different growing systems (hydroponic, conventional and organic) using a capillary electrophoresis method. In all samples, nitrite content was below the limit of detection, while nitrate was quantified. The nitrate concentrations in the leafy vegetables ranged from 239.26 to 7873.00 mg kg-1 in fresh weight, with more expressive values found for lettuce, watercress and rocket in the hydroponic system, while for spinach the highest values were found in the conventional system. However, the lettuce can be highlighted as the vegetable with the lowest content of nitrate and the rocket the vegetable with the highest content of this compound. Despite the great variability, the nitrate levels found for most samples were in accordance with international requirements.

Background: Nitrate and nitrite can get into the body through the consumption of contaminated water either directly or indirectly. The accumulation of these compounds in the body, in the long run, leads to health problems, for example, digestive disorders, cancers, and even death threats in children. The aim of this review is to investigate nitrate and nitrite pollution levels in drinking water and fruit juices in Iran. Methods: In this review data were collected through searching the Scientific Information Database, Science-Direct, Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Magiran databases using the keywords Nitrate, Nitrite, Drinking water, Drinking Water Resources, Juice and Iran. Finally, the location of the studies was geocoded through the Google My Maps (https://www.google.com/mymaps) software. Results: Studies clearly indicated that the juices are safe in terms of nitrate. Nitrate and nitrite values were less than the national and international standards in all samples of bottled drinking water except for a few of the studies. The results of the reviewed studies also indicated that the nitrate content was higher than that written on the label in 96% of the samples, and nitrite was not labeled in 80% of them. The nitrate quantity was higher than the permissible limit, in the water distribution network of Bushehr, Gilan and Mazandaran Provinces. Talesh, Ardabil, Hashtgerd, Divandareh, and Kerman cities had high nitrate levels in more than 50% of wells. Conclusion: Using nitrogen fertilizers and lack of a wastewater treatment system were the main reasons for the presence of nitrate and nitrite.

Nitrate (NO<sub>3</sub><sup>–</sup>) and nitrite (NO<sub>2</sub><sup>–</sup>) levels of a total 1195 samples of nine different vegetables (lettuce, potato, cabbage, carrot, string beans, tomato, cucumber, cauliflower and pepper) collected at several locations of an intensive agricultural area in Slovenia were analysed during a period of 13 years. The content of NO<sub>2</sub><sup>–</sup> and NO<sub>3</sub><sup>–</sup> ions in commercial mature samples was determined using a segmented flow analyser. The average NO<sub>3</sub><sup>–</sup> content was the highest in lettuce (962 mg/kg), cabbage (795 mg/kg), string beans (298 mg/kg), carrot (264 mg/kg), cauliflower (231 mg/kg), potato (169 mg/kg) and was moderately high in cucumber (93 mg/kg) and pepper (69 mg/kg). A low NO<sub>3</sub><sup>–</sup> content was found in tomato (2<sup>–</sup> did not exceed 0.5 mg/kg, with the exception of potato (1.08 mg/kg). Six samples of lettuce exceeded the maximum permissible level of NO<sub>3</sub><sup>–</sup> according to current European Union (EU) legislation. Based on the results of our investigation, we assessed the approximate daily intake (DI) of NO<sub>3</sub>– and NO<sub>2</sub><sup>–</sup> to human body. The results indicated that with the consumption of potato, the daily intake per inhabitant is close to the acceptable DI permitted in EU.

This work is focused on the diagnosis of behavior, from the point of view of control emissions and noise level, of a power Turbogas plant during the process of commissioning, to guarantee that its operation complies with national and international standards. The environmental diagnosis of the power plant was developed as part of the performance evaluation of the unit. The conditions of the unit evaluation include operation at base load and partial load, as well as time periods for load changes. The evaluated power plant consists of an aeroderivative gas turbine installed in a simple cycle, operating with a cooling system (chiller) installed in the urban zone of Mexico City. Therefore, it should comply with the legislation and regulations of the city concerning air pollution and allowed noise, besides the international standards established by the manufacturer. The study includes emissions measurements using a Continuous Emissions Monitoring System installed in-situ, previously calibrated and checked during and after the test which was found inside the permissible deviation of 3%. Measurements were recorded at intervals of 5 minutes during test periods of 110 minutes for each load and 45 minutes for load changes. On the other hand, noise pressure evaluation was carried out in near field as well as far field produced by the power plant during operation. Measurements were carried out by using precision instruments installed specifically for it. A temporary system for obtaining data was used to monitoring the environmental conditions every 30 seconds. It was possible to verify that the turbogenerator complies with all noise levels and contaminant emissions requirements and regulations according to the limits established by the manufacturer and national and international standards.

As the level of governance closest to the city dwellers, local authorities have been called to play a protagonist role as implementers of global standards on human rights and sustainable development. The New Urban Agenda, a political declaration signed by all UN Member States, sets a human rights-based approach to policy-making and service delivery as a path towards inclusive and sustainable urban development. Remarkably, the document acknowledges that local authorities are responsible for protecting, respecting, fulfilling, and promoting the human rights of the inhabitants. However, gaps between the aspiring language of international commitments and their concrete impact on the ground have limited its potential to transform people’s lives. Nevertheless, all over the world human rights cities have pro-actively set the implementation of human rights as a core task in the municipality. By establishing practical links and synergies between human rights cities and the NUA, this paper suggests ways of filling implementation gaps, drawing a promising scenario for the realisation of both global and local agendas.

The article considers the problem of low quality pedagogical and psychological/pedagogical research in the Russian academic context, closely interconnected with bad academic practices in conducting this kind of research. The authors identified the most common ethical violations, including imitation of scientific research, compiling scientific texts, falsification of results, incorrect borrowing, etc. The paper contains a pre-project analysis of the management model of psychological and pedagogical research common in modern Russian universities and conclusions on its failure in the conditions of transition to the global standards for assessing the quality of education and research. The authors present an approach to the development of a model for managing psychological and pedagogical research at the university level. The proposed model is based on international standards of scientific ethics and principles of evidence-based science, and the committee on the ethics of psychological and pedagogical research is its key element. The paper determines the status, structure, functions of the ethics committee, as well as specific features and possible risks of implementing the proposed alternative model in universities with serious problems in the field of good academic practice.

Doubt about the quality of tap water, due to its color, taste and unpleasant odors, forces a large part of the population of the city of Daloa (west-central of Cote d�Ivoire) to turn to spring and traditional wells waters whose quality is unknown. This study aims to assess the level of nitrate pollution of these shallow aquifers through 29 points including 9 spring and 20 traditional wells spread all over the city. Nitrate concentrations range from 2.5 mg/L to 301.1 mg/L, with 30% of the wells containing an excess of nitrate, beyond the WHO drinking standard (50 mg/L). The map of levels of nitrate concentrations in the city�s wells and springs shows the exposure of the populations of the old downtown neighborhoods to a high health risk due to the high pollution potential of nitrate in the water.
