  The study aimed at examining some of the indicators of financial inclusion in the Palestinian banking sector through published secondary data on the Palestinian banking sector during the period (2013- 2017), as well as to measure the degree of protection for beneficiaries of financial services in the Palestinian banking sector. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method to suit the purposes of the study. The secondary data published and prepared by the researcher were used to examine the state of financial coverage in the banking sector. A questionnaire has been designed for the purpose of collecting preliminary data regarding the level of protection provided by the banking sector to users of financial banking services through 8 areas of protection developed after reference to literature and previous studies. The study population consisted of all the beneficiaries of banking financial services in the West Bank. In view of the large size of the study society, a soft sample of (100) conditional on the characteristics of the respondents was used in terms of (banking culture, years of experience in dealing with banks, Sectoral& banking diversification).The researcher reached the following results: - The Palestinian banking sector promotes the reality of financial inclusion, which contributes significantly to enhancing financial stability. Where banks are strengthening protection for users of banking services, although the level of protection was average (2.78) overall score through the eight areas covered by the study. - The regulatory and supervisory role of the Palestinian Monetary Authority in this important sector was medium. Consumer protection bodies are required to have an active and proactive role to organize the required protection. The researcher recommended the importance of financial education to improve the financial personality of individuals and institutions, help them understand their rights and duties in dealing with the services discharged, the importance of the consumer protection associations roles in enhancing banking protection.

This article describes how the majority of Australia's indigenous communities live within isolated regions and are typically characterized by levels of disadvantage not evidenced within mainstream Australian society. While there are a number of reasons for the evidenced disadvantages, access to financial services and social services are acknowledged as key contributors. The article outlines the role of banking sector competition and changing banking structures on the exclusion of indigenous people from banking services. It is claimed herein that access, marketing, price, and self-exclusion all serve to promote financial exclusion. It is posited that forms of access exclusion such as bank branch access and geographic dispersion have served as the key structural impediments to indigenous financial inclusion. Specifically, this article considers the potential role of adaptive cellular technologies and community telecentres in addressing financial exclusion within indigenous communities. Detailing successful ‘social banking' models adopted in several developing countries, it is asserted that m-banking could serve as a powerful tool for inclusion.

The primary motive of this paper is to examine the determinants of financial inclusion in Tanzania. The paper borrows data from a household survey conducted by TWAWEZA. Employing the probit regression, the findings of this paper reveal that gender, education, age and income are the pertinent factors which affect the financial inclusion in Tanzania. The paper further shows the following: First, if you are a man, financially stable, have a good education and are relatively older, you then stand better chances of being financially included. The results show that, as the level of education increases, the individual is more likely to be financially included. The possible reason for this observation may be clearly linked with the financial ability of educated individuals to afford holding bank accounts and presenting personal guarantees when required by the banks during loan application because the level of education goes parallel with the income level. In addition, the results confirm a gender gap in formal financial inclusion, and this may be due to the factors such as inability of women to show collateral, their poor financial education awareness and lower business experience. Second, the paper also shows that the factors which affect traditional banking services are the same as those affecting mobile banking services (gender, age, income and education), and that there is a negative trend and a clear departure of customers’ usage from banking retail services to mobile financial services. Although this gap has been narrowed recently, the best option with the banking sector is to create more new delivery channels while using mobile financial services as an infrastructure to deepen financial access reaching more un-banked population. The paper, therefore, recommends banks to create more delivery channels while using mobile telecommunication network as an infrastructure to deepen financial access reaching more unbanked people rather than competing with mobile network operators. The findings of this paper may also be used as a wake-up call for policy makers to put more emphasis on women and young people who are often left behind during Government’s effort toward reaching the entire population as far as financial inclusion is concerned.

The term ‘Financial Inclusion’ signifies a process of ensuring delivery of financial services as well as banking services to the vulnerable groups at the point of need, adequately at an affordable cost. The concept of ‘Financial Inclusion’ was accentuated in 2003 by Kofi Annan, former General Secretary of United Nations. Such, efforts were undertaken by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in 2005 and the said policy as already mentioned in a pilot project was first implemented by Indian Bank. Probably, by implementing such policy resolution a vast section of the rural disadvantaged people in India was gradually coming under the ambit of formal banking services. The main aim of this paper is to assess the level of financial inclusion in Tripura based on composite Index. The study conducted in the four districts of Tripura state. The present study relies on secondary data. Secondary data collected from State Level Bankers’ Committee Reports, NEDFi databank, Economic Reviews and RBI Annual Reports. Through this paper Index of Financial Inclusion (IFI) has been used to assess the level of financial inclusion in Tripura.

This research was an attempt to take a deeper look at people’s experience of existing financial services and their providers. In addition, it aimed to identify definitive indicators that would help to create a roadmap for the delivery of effective financial services in Nepal. The study emphasized that ensuring financial inclusion is an arduous task and requires a holistic approach encompassing strategies for awareness raising, financial education, technical advice on different dimensions of money management, debt counseling, saving mobilization, provision of affordable credit services, research and development. In order to promote financial inclusion, there is a need to develop and apply specific strategies to expand the outreach of their services using combinations of lending methodologies, market led approaches to new product development, fostering linkages with local communities and promoting the use of technologies. This paper is basically descriptive and analytical in nature and based on a number of policy models and provisions formulated in recent years for promoting financial inclusion in Nepal. Secondary data is used, drawn primarily from, Poverty Alleviation Fund, Department of Co-operatives and different departments. Micro finance institutions should give equal priority for non-financial services such as financial literacy and provision of entrepreneurship skills through government and non-government organizations that ultimately helps to utilize micro-credit into productive sectors.

Financial inclusion has allowed financial products with very high-interest rates and complex conditions to become increasingly affordable. Financial inclusion programs, which aim to reach all social strata, strongly expose financial institutions to risk and particularly credit risk. That said, additional interventions such as financial education of those included are needed. We aim to examine the impact of financial literacy and financial inclusion of households on bank performance. Specifically, we want to examine the impact of financial literacy on credit risk, competitiveness among banks and financial stability. The FGLS estimation results suggest that financial literacy and financial inclusion reduce credit risk and enhance the stability of banks, and regarding competitiveness, our results were inconclusive as they show different effects for each competitiveness indicator, although they point to improved competitiveness in some cases. This research allows policymakers to understand that individual financial attitudes can be reflected in the general welfare of financial institutions and encourages the intensification of programs aimed at improving household financial literacy.

India is a country where a sizeable amount of population lives in rural areas. They are engaged in agriculture and allied activities. Most of the people living in rural areas are poor. They do not have any access to the banks. The awareness and access of the poor to the banking services is important for the alleviation of the poverty. Their access to the banking services will contribute a lot to the growth and development of our country’s economy. Financial inclusion is a great weapon to overcome the financial backwardness as well as the establishment of good governance.It broadens the resource base of the financial system by developing a culture of savings among large segment of rural population, disadvantaged group and plays an essential role in the process of economic development. The Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have been making concentrated efforts periodically to overcome such vicious problems by promoting Financial Inclusion, being one of the important national objectives of the country. Since first phase of nationalization (1969) GoI continuously promoting financial inclusion through self-help groups, no frills account, simplification of KYC, Business correspondents etc., but no palpable effect could be seen in the plight of these financially vulnerable people. To mitigate this long drawn financial sufferings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a new scheme in his Independence Day speech on 15th Aug 2014 called Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY). Mission of PMJDY is to ensure easy access of financial services for the excluded section i.e. weaker section and the low income group. This effort will certainly go a long way in promoting economic growth and reducing poverty, while mitigating systematic risk and maintaining financial stability. This article focuses on the RBI, GoI initiatives, current status and future prospects of financial inclusion in India on the basis of facts and data provided by various secondary sources. It is concluded that financial inclusion shows positive and valuable changes.

The article considers the main digital transformational changes in the banking business. The current state of banks' use of financial digital technologies is analyzed, and the factors of digital transformation that affect their financially stable development are singled out. It is determined that the digitalization of the world economy over the past decade has posed new challenges to the banking system, which are caused by increased competition in the financial services market. The factors of emergence of financial intermediaries of the new generation and the need for digital transformation of contemporary banks are described. It is proved that the digital transformation of the banking sector of the economy is due to the development of financial technologies, digital marketing channels and innovation. Three main holistic proposals for FinTech development have been identified. The digital transformation of the banking business is changing not only the supply to customers. It is changing the contours of the business and staffing requirements. Such tools as ATMs and self-service terminals, telephone banking, SMS banking, Internet banking and mobile banking represent the evolution of customer access channels to banking services based on the use of information and communication technologies. The article considers the basic scheme of transformation of a classical bank into a dynamic system of a digital bank by gradually forming the directions of digital distribution. Further digital transformational changes in the banking business should be aimed at the vectors of financial education of consumers of banking services, regulation of the cryptocurrency market in Ukraine, definition of common standards of regulation and supervision of banks and non-banking institutions in the area of digital financial services.

Factors leading to financial exclusion are primary linked to shortages of financial resources, high costs for financial services, distrust in financial institutions, and lack of financial education. Financial inclusion of the population can sustain economic monetary and financial stability by taking efficient saving and investing decisions or by boosting the performance of an economy. In a responsible financial system, people can safely save money without fearing losing it as a result of fraud, theft, or operational errors, can conduct financial transactions, can take a loan for consumption or for investing in personal development or business idea with a proper understanding of the terms and conditions, and they can insure themselves against any kind of risk. Considering that financial exclusion leads to social exclusion, the need to establish institutions that can offer marginalized categories of the population access to different financing means is obvious, especially in rural areas. People can use financing for self-employment or for implementing entrepreneurial ideas that can generate new jobs and revenue for the community. This paper adds to the existing literature in identifying the existing relations between financial inclusion and economic growth and further investigates if an increase in the level of financial inclusion has an impact on achieving the convergence criteria and therefore entering the Eurozone.

This study unravels trends and momentum in banking and mobile money channels and uptake of select services and thereafter draws implications for enhancing financial inclusion through Digital Financial Services (DFS). The Rate of Change (ROC) approach was applied to analyze the growth momentum in banking and mobile money channels in Uganda. Implications for growth momentum in banking and mobile money channels for DFS and financial inclusion was drawn from observing and making informed interpretation of such observed trends and momentum. The findings of this study imply that banks must innovate to increase their contribution towards enhancing financial inclusion. Additional channel innovations, which may infuse banking and mobile money channels, are needed for banking to leverage on growth of mobile money and regain its role in enhancing financial inclusion. Leveraging the application of digital innovations in services such as payments and digitizing alternative channels such as agent banking are likely to increase efficiencies in physical channels and the provision of banking services and thereby increase overall reach and penetration of banking. The fast pace of mobile money penetration is good for speeding up financial inclusion. However, this calls for better regulatory approaches for DFS risk reduction, consumer protection, and protecting mobile money against integrity and financial crimes.
