This article examines a new form of economic activity organisation for industrial enterprises in the context of the digital transformation of the economy. The analysis of networking in the cluster and economic approaches has allowed us to identify the guiding principles of interaction between economic actors, and the resulting effects and “values”. The platform education proposed by the author as an organisational and economic activity form is the digital ecosystem component, which is a spatial and temporal environment for the functioning of enterprises. A scheme for assessing data and process management in this ecosystem has been developed using the metrics proposed by the author. This scheme reflects the production-logistics chain formed in the framework of the actors’ integration in the digital ecosystem.

Digital globalization and Ukrainian integration into the global economic space have speeded up digitalization and determined it as a driver of increased competitiveness, economic activity and sustainable development of economic entities. Steady modernization of existing and creation of new digital and information technologies necessitates changes in the format of business models of business entities, approaches to their management. Radical changes in the strategy of business development and enterprise management processes under the influence of digitalization in the near future will become necessary prerequisite of viability and development in the digital ecosystem «state – business – society». In view of this, the purpose of this work is determined as study of the world experience and prerequisites for the transition of enterprises to digital management and development of the reference model of the economic activity and enterprise development digitization management. The approach to the digitization of economic activity management and sustainable development of domestic enterprises is proposed in the work with taking into account the world experience of business administration digitalization. It is substantiated that the enterprise management digitalization requires the definition and rethinking of forms, trends, methods, technologies and digital engineering tools, innovation policy and corresponding corporate culture, communication mechanisms between all management units for quick implementation of changes. The results of the work prove that the implementation effectiveness of management actions and measures for enterprise management digitalization, its activity and development depends on the selected digital transformation technologies, the possibility of relevant data information arrays forming, their analytical processing and presentation for certain decisions making in real time. The reference digitalization model of economic activity management and enterprise development is elaborated; its distinctive feature is the integration of three platforms (information, analytical and management) in one management loop, which allows obtaining the synergistic effect of the management process digital transformation at all its levels. The practical implementation of the proposed digitalization model of economic activity management and sustainable development of the enterprise allows gaining strategic benefits from business processes conversion and managing them into digital format, providing the management process optimization and the possibility of decisions making in real time.

The article considers the methodology of business process development in the digital business transformation. The aim of the study was to determine the dependence of sustainable enterprise development on the organisation of stakeholder engagement in the context of the digital ecosystem and the organisation of effective digital asset management.Taking into account the aim of the study, the main objectives are to study international experience of managing business development in digital transformation, determine the impact of ecosystems on business organisation and management of business processes and sustainability, and develop recommendations for business model formation and its alignment with the ecosystem market needs. The study resulted in the development of a sustainability framework in the digital ecosystem and proposals for digital ecosystem configurations that focus on giving and generating “value” when applying new ways and methods of “platform” interaction in the digital economy. Sustainability in digital transformation and ecosystematic business organisation depends on how digital assets are managed and approaches used to resource management. This process requires consideration of the methodology for business process development and research into changes in the external environment, identifying the possibility of integrating actors into the digital ecosystem development processes and defining tools for business process management.

The article is aimed at studying the theoretical and methodological foundations of the process of managing and evaluating novelty portfolios at industrial enterprises focused on the international market, as well as at developing recommendations helping to improve their efficiency. The concepts of novelty portfolio (intellectual property portfolio) and innovation portfolio are analyzed, differentiated and further developed. The place and role of the process of novelty portfolio management in ensuring effective international economic activity of an industrial enterprise and its sustainable development are substantiated. A proprietary model for assessing a novelty portfolio and efficiency of its management process at industrial enterprises planning to enter the international market is developed and suggested for use as a basis for ensuring their competitiveness and sustainable development in the context of economy digitalization and the growing number of challenges and threats. Promising research areas on this issue are highlighted, such as developing optimizing programs for novelty portfolios in accordance with the industry specifics; improving the process of forming a novelty portfolio at industrial enterprises through carrying out marketing and patent research as a tool to harmonize stakeholders’ interests; and creating favorable conditions for the implementation of an already formed novelty portfolio by introducing relevant strategies in the activities of industrial enterprises as soon as possible

The article presents a study of the specifics of «smart» production, the positive effect of which is certainly recognized by industrial enterprises. This means increasing production efficiency, ensuring the reliability, stability and safety of technological systems, and reducing the burden on the environment. In the context of the digital transformation of the industry, new opportunities are opening up to achieve this effect. In this regard, it is important to model the processes of «smart» production, the decomposition of the control system of mechanisms and tools. The purpose of the study is to build a logical and information model that reflects the specifics of managing the processes of «smart» production. The research methods used are comparative analysis (in the context of industries and territories); formalization, which clearly presents information about the management of «smart» production processes in the form of schemes and models; mathematical and statistical methods that underlie cluster analysis. As a result of the study, the following results were obtained: the general scheme of «smart» production was formalized, taking into account the processes of obtaining a petrochemical product, control actions, mechanisms and necessary resources, taking into account the guidelines for sustainable development; the typology of Russian regions, depending on the level of intellectualization of production, was identified according to the signs of the activity of organizations in terms of the use of information and communication technologies for the automation of processes and design: regions with low, medium and high activity of intellectualization of production; A logical and information model of managing the processes of «smart» production is proposed, covering the stages of integration and operation of digital technologies, production assets of industrial enterprises and personnel support, which differs in the object of modeling and systematically describes the functioning of intelligent production. The practical significance of the results is due to the possibility of competent process management in the context of the implementation of digital solutions and the sustainable development of industry.

Energy generation, along with other sectors of Russia’s economy, is on the cusp of the era of digital transformation. Modern IT solutions ensure the transition of industrial enterprises from automation and computerization, which used to be the targets of the second half of the last century, to digital enterprise concept 4.0. The international record of technological and structural solutions in digitization may be used in Russia’s energy sector to the full extent. Specifics of implementation of such systems in different countries are only determined by the level of economic development of each particular state and the attitude of public authorities as related to the necessity of creating conditions for implementation of the same. It is shown that a strong legislative framework is created in Russia for transition to the digital economy, with research and applied developments available that are up to the international level. The following digital economy elements may be used today at enterprises for production of electrical and thermal energy: — dealing with large amounts of data (including operations exercised via cloud services and distributed data bases); — development of small scale distributed generation and its dispatching; — implementation of smart elements in both electric power and heat supply networks; — development of production process automation systems, remote monitoring and predictive analytics; 3D-modeling of parts and elements; real time mathematic simulation with feedback in the form of control actions; — creating centres for analytical processing of statistic data and accounting in financial and economic activities with business analytics functions, with expansion of communication networks and computing capacities. Examples are presented for implementation of smart systems in energy production and distribution. It is stated in the paper that state-of art information technologies are currently being implemented in Russia, new unique digital transformation projects are being launched in major energy companies. Yet, what is required is large-scale and thorough digitization and controllable energy production system as a multi-factor business process will provide the optimum combination of efficient economic activities, reliability and safety of power supply.
