This article examines a new form of economic activity organisation for industrial enterprises in the context of the digital transformation of the economy. The analysis of networking in the cluster and economic approaches has allowed us to identify the guiding principles of interaction between economic actors, and the resulting effects and “values”. The platform education proposed by the author as an organisational and economic activity form is the digital ecosystem component, which is a spatial and temporal environment for the functioning of enterprises. A scheme for assessing data and process management in this ecosystem has been developed using the metrics proposed by the author. This scheme reflects the production-logistics chain formed in the framework of the actors’ integration in the digital ecosystem.

The frequency and intensity of natural hazards and extreme events has increased throughout the last century, resulting in adverse socioeconomic and ecological impacts worldwide. Key factors driving this increase include climate change, the growing world population, anthropogenic activities and ecosystem degradation. One ecologically focused approach that has shown potential towards the mitigation of these hazard events is the concept of nature's contributions to people (or NCP), which focuses on enhancing the material and non-material benefits of an ecosystem to reduce hazard vulnerability and enhance overall human well-being. Soils, in particular, have been identified as a key ecosystem component that may offer critical hazard regulating functionality. Thus, this review investigates the modulating role of soils in the regulation of natural hazards and extreme events, with a focus on floods, droughts, landslides and sand/dust storms, within the context of NCP. This article is part of the theme issue ‘The role of soils in delivering Nature's Contributions to People’.

Livestock area is an area specifically intended for livestock activities or integrated as a component of farming (based on food crops, plantations, horticulture, or fisheries) and integrated as an ecosystem component. The development of farm areas should pay attention to the optimization of local resources and regional development policy strategies. Basically sustainable agriculture development is the implementation of the concept of sustainable development that aims to increase the income and welfare of the farming community at large.

The benefit of ecosystem services are the completeness of the outputs resulting from biological, physical, chemical, and socio-cultural processes in the forest that are useful for human life and environment. The object of research is to know how much the economic value of fauna in ecosystem services which has been utilized by the community buffer village and the dependence on Baluran National Park (BNP). Method of research by quantitative and qualitative analysis. Data collected are typological conditions of BNP community buffer village, human resources who used the services of BNP ecosystem services, identity of community who used ecosystem services, types of ecosystem services used by community, harvest season, location of ecosystem services, community income that uses ecosystem and dependence on BNP ecosystem services. The result of research are economic value of the services of fauna that ecosystem components of BNP that have been used by buffer community village and dependence on BNP have form of forest honey (Rp. 1,073,332,000), kroto (Rp. 784,665,000), and snails (Rp. 648,080). Total economic value of fauna that ecosystem component of BNP is Rp. 2,506,077,000,- per year

The purpose of this study was to identify the customary community forest of Soug tribe of Arfak in using customary forest resources surrounding Tobou forest. Through the study, how the forest assessed, local culture, forest preservation, transfer knowledge, accessibility, and infrastructure towards the existence of Tobou customary forest. The descriptive method was used to qualitative data. In order to obtain data, interview, and field observation was applied. In terms of customary forest use around Tobou, there were numbers of conserving land types such as garden opening, extracting both, timber and non-timber forest products, important value and trust, co-benefit interaction among social and biophysical co-benefit as a whole ecosystem component and customary role community. It turned out that social bonds among community strata were glaringly seen through customary roles as it has been indicated strongly in Arfak ethnic.

Abstract The eddy covariance is a powerful technique to estimate the surface-atmosphere exchange of different scalars at the ecosystem scale. The EC method is central to the ecosystem component of the Integrated Carbon Observation System, a monitoring network for greenhouse gases across the European Continent. The data processing sequence applied to the collected raw data is complex, and multiple robust options for the different steps are often available. For Integrated Carbon Observation System and similar networks, the standardisation of methods is essential to avoid methodological biases and improve comparability of the results. We introduce here the steps of the processing chain applied to the eddy covariance data of Integrated Carbon Observation System stations for the estimation of final CO2, water and energy fluxes, including the calculation of their uncertainties. The selected methods are discussed against valid alternative options in terms of suitability and respective drawbacks and advantages. The main challenge is to warrant standardised processing for all stations in spite of the large differences in e.g. ecosystem traits and site conditions. The main achievement of the Integrated Carbon Observation System eddy covariance data processing is making CO2 and energy flux results as comparable and reliable as possible, given the current micrometeorological understanding and the generally accepted state-of-the-art processing methods.
