Since the presence of the Internet, it has been immensely used globally and has become an essential tool for learning, therefore creating a positive and negative impact on students as avid users. The positive aspect of the Internet is that it assists in teaching and learning by making instantaneous access for information to be available at their fingertips. Despite its benefits, internet addiction may negatively impact students' life, causing them to be emotionally unstable, depressive, exhibiting poor time management, and poor academic performance. Students who do not have self-discipline and proper guidelines may be exposed to internet addiction. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of internet addiction to students' and the correlation to their emotional stability. This study was conducted among 236-degree students in UniKL RCMP. A survey form has been distributed using the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) and Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales (DASS21). A Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that all hypotheses formulated were considerably related. There are 37 percent of students facing problems with internet addiction, creating a significant impact to their life. The remaining 63 percent describes the average online user who are able to have self-control for internet usage. Using the Pearson Correlation, the relationship between internet addiction and anxiety were compared and correlated. A significant level of 0.05 was used to test the significance of the results. This study also found that internet addiction will lead students to develop anxiety problems, but not towards depression and stress. Anxiety appears to be a persistent predictor with internet addiction in both genders. The results indicated that internet addiction has a significant association to anxiety problems. In the future, the university must focus more on developing a holistic student intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. This holistic and balanced development is crucial for the computer-savvy generation due to the challenging era that lies ahead. Proper knowledge should be imparted for them to choose the right tools and control their resources on the Internet. With the right awareness, students will know how to fully utilize the Internet without being dominated by it.

Abstract Background: The internet itself is a harmless technology. However, its overuse and misuse will expose its users to internet addiction. On the other hand, diagnosis of students’mental dysfunction is of prime importance, and their progress and academic success in the future can be prevented by this technology if not properly handled. Methods: In this descriptive and correlational study, the statistical population consisted of all students at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, of which 447 students studying in the first and second semesters of the academic year 2017-18 were selected through Cochran's Sample Size Formula and Stratified Random Sampling. As for data collection, the Young's Internet addiction Test (IAT) and Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) were utilized. Moreover, for data analysis, the descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (T-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis) were employed in the environment of SPSS Statistical Software Version 23.0. Results: The results of the present study demonstrated that the total mean score of students’ internet addiction and mental health measured 3.81±0.88 and 2.56±0.33, respectively. The results also indicated that internet addiction correlared positively with depression whereas negatively with mental health (P<0.001). Besides, the results of multiple regression analysis revealed that the five major predictors of vulnerability to internet addictionin university students were as follows: the key reason for using the internet, faculty, depression, the main place for using the internet, and somatic symptoms. Conclusions: According to the findings of the present study, it can be concluded that students’ excessive use of the internet leads to depression, anxiety, and reduced mental health, thereby affecting their academic performance. Hence, it is suggested that further monitoring and control be exercised on how the internet is used by university students, and they should be informed of the detrimental effects of this technology in the case of misuse or overuse.

Smartphones are a fundamental part of emerging adults' life. The aim of this chapter is to determine which factors play a role in “phubbing” during emerging adulthood as well as to propose and test a model of this phenomenon. We tested a model of relations between phubbing, self-esteem, self-control, well-being, and internet addiction. The following measures were used: the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS), the Flourishing Scale, the Internet Addiction Scale, and the Phubbing Scale. The participants in the online study were 640 Italian emerging adults (526 females and 114 males), ranging in age from 18 to 29 (M = 21.7, SD = 2.18). The results showed that the model was well fitted, particularly in postulating that a decrease in the level of self-control is related to an increase in Internet addiction, that an increase in Internet addiction increases the probability of phubbing behavior, and that the level of self-esteem and well-being do not affect Internet addiction. Gender differences, in favor of males, occurred only in self-esteem.

Internet addiction is a behavioural addiction, similar to compulsive gambling, that can lead to behaviours similar to those seen in drug abuse disorders, such as bingeing. If we are not careful, internet and Netflix addiction might have a negative impact on our mental and physical health. Anxiety, depression, and loneliness can all be exacerbated by binge-watching. Any addiction requires the development of self-control and lifestyle changes that may provide a significant amount of diversion. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru has received the country's first case of Netflix addiction. Researchers have discovered instances when people's addiction has affected their interpersonal connections and caused them to lose productivity at work. The possibility of including Internet Addiction Illness as a diagnosable condition in the clinical setting has been investigated. Meditation and other alternative activities, such as sports or nature walks, should be encouraged; finding a good balance is essential for overall wellness. There hasn't been a lot of research on how binge-watching affects mental health because it's a relatively new phenomena that's only been around for around five years. Keywords: Internet addiction, Binge-Watching, Anxiety, Depression, and Loneliness.

In the age of globalization, many questions were raised on the benefit and negative aspects of globalization and whether the world can manage globalization. The internet, as an important element of globalization, has contributed to many positive aspects of everyday lives but has also created discrimination, unevenness and has negative bearings on individuals as well as governments. Questions arise on the necessity of governing internet and the need to strike the right balance between ensuring that the negative impact of internet are properly managed through proper governance and the need to ensure that growth, creativity and preservation of rights that are needed in a globalized world continue unabated.

Today, in the context of universal digitalization and informatization of the society, the Internet environment is becoming a criminogenic communication environment, favorable for the commission of "speech crimes", i.e. speech actions that form the objective element of the corpus delicti. The paper is devoted to the criminological analysis of the factors that determine the negative impact of information threats on users of the digital communication environment (primarily, the Internet environment). Based on monitoring social communication in the Internet and analyzing the patterns of language functioning in conditions of the Internet communication, the authors summarize the main properties of the Internet communication and factors that provide the possibility of abuse of rights (freedom of speech and the right to freely search, receive, transmit, produce and distribute information) in order to have a destructive impact on the ideological safety of Internet users (primarily children and young people). Such factors include simulation, virality, hyperreality, the phenomenon of social disinhibition, etc. Particular attention is paid to the concept of destructiveness of information impact, considered on the basis of an analysis of the phenomena of human destructiveness, aggression and cyber aggression, deviance and delinquency. The authors propose to treat content risks and communication risks as forms of representation of destructive speech behavior in the digital environment as information threats to the ideological security of the Internet communication. The paper provides the authors’ classification of the information risks under consideration based on a generalization of judicial and forensic practice (including cases when materials were included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials by court decisions), the practice of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor), as well as interdisciplinary analysis of scientific publications. The authors suggest that the terms "mortilatrya" and "eridophobia" be introduced in the context of ensuring the worldview security. The authors of the paper analyze the influence on the axiosphere of the Internet user of delinquent subcultures that erode a person’s identity in order to impose a new pseudo-correct- identity.

The paper is devoted to examining some legal aspects of implementation of the right to unionize for individuals employed through the Internet platforms — digital applications that serve as a link between the participant providing the service and its consumer. The emergence of such intermediaries has become a part of digitalization of wage labor characterizing the beginning of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The modern labor market is characterized by instability due to the withdrawal of some sectors of the economy from the traditional Fordist model of labor organization. The instability caused desocialization of workers, their disintegration and had a negative impact on the traditional labour movemen that has always been expressed in the form of trade unions. In this regard, the authors’ objective is to investigate the prospects and legal grounds for creating unions of workers employed through the Internet platforms, as well as the legal specifics of their labor rights protection with due regard to their precarious legal status. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to resolve the issues of expediency, effectiveness of trade union protection of digital labor and the place of trade unions in social and partnership relations with the participation of workers employed through the Internet platforms. The author formulates the conclusion about the effectiveness of trade union protection of labor rights of workers employed through the Internet platforms, provided the socio-partner procedures are employed.

Background: The Internet has many positive sides, but it can also have a negative impact on human emotional-cognitive and behavioral functioning, especially during adolescence. To the most common consequences, the authors add addiction of the teenager to the Internet. This addiction is related to many negative physical and mental problems, including depression, substance abuse and social isolation. Methods: In the study, SSBS (Student School Burnout Scale) was used to measure the level of burnout, and the level of Internet addiction was measured using PUI (Internet Addiction Test). The research was carried out among 230 individuals aged 17–20 years. Results: The results of the research showed that higher level of school burnout is related to higher Internet addiction indicators, and connection was stronger in the male group. Gender significantly predicted Internet addiction and moderated the link between school burnout and Internet addiction. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses confirmed different predictors of Internet addiction for male and female students. However, for both groups, higher burnout due to parents was a significant predictor of Internet addiction (IA). Discussion: Internet addiction was predicted by school burnout, appearing as a result of parental pressure for high school achievements. In addition, school burnout and school-related characteristics have greater prediction power of Internet addiction and its indicators in a male group.
