Rapid economic growth and irrational use of natural resources in the last decades of the XX century have influenced the changes in the environmental sphere and to specific environmental problems. These processes in the global economy and society, caused a disturbance of the environment by increasing pollution of the environment.Emerging problems of the entire human society can be solved by applying the concept of sustainable growth and development and raising awareness about the necessity of implementation of basic environmental standards in business. In order to reduce the harmful effects of production processes on the environment and to help meet the objective of sustainable development outlined at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio De Janeiro in 1992 the ISO 14000 Standards were created. The essence of sustainable development is responsible development that meets the current needs a way to rationally use natural resources to ensure meeting the needs of future generations and environment protection.

ABSTRACTSustainable development urges to merge the three complex dimensions: global economy, global society and physically earth environment. Sachs (2015) states that sustainable development is the expert effort to comprehend the world and the method to solve the crowded earth issues by the global population growth that nine times increase than the first industry era. Education is one of fatal element for sustainable development phase especially for the human (society) development. Human development becomes the main core of invesment for economy development because it is prepared for the youngst as the next generation to develop economic improvement individually for their family and also for their community (include for the State’s development interest). Marshall, Hine and East (2017) studied about the education which develop the autonomous motivation to support individu execute the pro-environmental behaviors (PEBs). This autonomous motivation will establish the environmental attitude and personality in decision making and action of sustainable environment protection and preservation. Keywords: sustainable development, education, pro-environmental behaviors ABSTRAKPembangunan berkelanjutan berupaya untuk mengkaitkan tiga sistem yang rumit yaitu sistem ekonomi dunia, sistem sosial dunia dan lingkungan fisik bumi.

Sustainability has become an important concept in economic growth and development in the world. Malaysia, as a rapidly developing economy in Asia, has been able to achieve a positive economic growth; however, there is a big question: is it on a sustainable growth path? Due to weaknesses of traditional GDP in reflecting sustainability path, Green GDP as an indicator of sustainability could be implemented with adjustments in calculations. This paper aims to calculate the Green GDP for Malaysia. This measure will almost give policy makers a more arguable estimate for the area of environmental challenges. This paper highlights the role of natural resources depletion and environmental damages in sustainable development of the country. Green GDP is associated with some uncertainties such as lack of comprehensive calculations in estimating data and difficulties in setting the price of natural resources. These uncertainties and how Malaysia would be able to implement more accurate Green GDP in future were also discussed.

With growing importance of the global economy, one of the basic natural resources - intensity of land use - is also increasing, which often is the cause of land degradation processes. The causes and manifestations of brownfields are diverse, and their elimination is the first prerequisite for the sustainable use of land resources and development of each region. Improvement, maximal and efficient engagement in economic activity of brownfields is one of the key challenges for sustainable resource use that makes significant contribution to regional development. The reuse of brownfields has significant impact on sustainable development as it meets all three of its objectives: improving the economy, improving social cohesion and the environment. The aim of the article is on the basis of special literature examples to examine issues of sustainable development, evaluation and restoration of brownfields, transformation of brownfields into recreational areas, as well as further use of brownfields in cities and rural areas.

This paper aims at establishing the elements of sustainable development in the accounting of the economic entities. Emphasis is placed on the principles of sustainable development both in the national context and in the European space. The entities’ approach to integrating the requirements of sustainable growth into the accounting model has long been debated since the consumed natural resources are not to be found distinctly in the accounting records of the entity. The debate on this topic is carried out through specific instruments in the form of sustainable development indicators. Thus, in this paper, macroeconomic elements are promoted and, through their compositions, they integrate as many elements of the sustainable development into the accounting model and they are the most appropriate to meet the requirements of the development.

Approved strategy of sustainable development of the Czech Republic is based on three pillars of defensibility, namely social, economic and environmental. The paper is focused on the third pillar that includes field of natural resources. It is solved in municipalities of chosen micro-regions in the Czech Republic compared with level in particular regions. In term of chosen indicators it is concerned with the coefficient analysis of ecological stability of landscape.Furthermore in the paper there are analysed chosen problems in the sphere of environment protection in particular districts where chosen micro-regions are situated. Analysis of environment protection is realized in years 2002–2008. Protection of environment is evaluated by indicators such as e.g. environmental assets and non-investment expenditures and emissions.

Today’s society is a reaction to the excesses of a market economy that has not always been properly understood, thus leading to an imbalance of limited natural resources, disturbances in the unraveling of the lives of firms, or even the global economy. However, the eco-economy, under the given conditions, respects the sustainable efficiency of the eco-systems on which it depends. Addressing a fair, balanced attitude can be achieved through a system of implementing methods well-defined strategies, thus using the interdisciplinarity of the concept of development. The present paper aims to argue the need for bioeconomic sericulture management, based on the experience held in the field of sericulture and the untapped potential of this field in Romania. The bioeconomic management of sericulture biodiversity is a new method in the development, growth, and exploitation of silkworms as a pursuit of the sustainable development of agriculture and light industry, the chance of applying sustainable innovation, and relaunching the Romanian agriculture.

With the development of our society, natural resources, environment and population have become more and more important for human beings to live and develop. People started to focus on the “Green” index of products. As a result of that, we should combine environment protection, control and pollutant prevention with the whole process of design and production in mechanical manufacture industries. Additionally, we also should choose the path of sustainable development to improve “Green” index by the rational resources and energy utilization.

Markets and government planning are providing alternative systems for coordinating people’s consumption of resources. The effectiveness of coordination depends on the capability of each system to signify accurate information about people’s wants and available supplies of resources. And on the incentives each provides for individuals to react to the desire of others [Hayek (1945) and Wills (2007)]. Natural resources generate public revenues and benefits. Its equitable distribution and sustainable production leads to real development and ultimately helped to poverty reduction and alleviation. Therefore, natural resource revenues necessitate distributions that favour the needs of the indigenous poor people and local sustainable development. Productive and high-value natural resources are seldom accessible to all citizens and their benefits are rarely evenly dispersed crosswise peoples and geographically across nations. It is worth mentioning that revenues collected from natural resources have a long history of being mismanaged and misappropriated—with political and economic elite often capturing a large share of the benefits while the nations disenfranchised must often absorb inexplicably large share of the associated social and environmental expenses. These are highly interdependence; a sound environment is crucial to poverty reduction and sustainable growth, particularly in low-income countries [IBRD/World Bank (2005); World Bank (2006a) and Mustafa (2008)].

The accelerated development of the global economy is leading to increasing consumption of natural resources. The exploitation of resources is moving at an accelerated pace, while their availability is decreasing. The biggest problem is the depletion of non-renewable and limited resources that are the carriers of the raw material base of energy and manufacturing industry, which calls into question the preservation of energy stability and efficiency at the global level. Uncontrolled industrial growth, accompanied by increasingly intensive depletion of non-renewable natural resources, especially fossil fuels, has caused enormous pollution of the environment and the entire planet. In the conditions of depletion of natural resources, negative climate changes accompanied by global warming and a serious threat to the survival of life, it is necessary to adopt and implement the concept of sustainable development. The concept of sustainable development explicitly aims to achieve optimal economic results, while preserving and improving the environment and the social component of development. Natural resources play an extremely important role in achieving economic growth and development. The aim of this paper is to point out the importance of renewable energy sources for achieving sustainable development. It is necessary to investigate the importance of renewable and non-renewable natural resources, as well as the factors that affect their exploitation, with the aim of successfully implementing the concept of sustainable development.
