Negative trends in the health status of the child population, the spread of non-communicable diseases require optimization of the system of their medical support. According to WHO, an educational institution can become a powerful tool for the preservation and strengthening of children's health through the rational use of human and material potential, opportunities for intersectoral interaction between education and medicine systems, and support for actions at the legislative level. The aim of the work is to develop a conceptual model of medical support for students of general secondary education institutions to prevent the spread of non-infectious diseases and the formation of health-oriented behavior of schoolchildren. Materials and methods: Analytical assessment of regulatory documents and scientific foreign and domestic publications on the health status and medical support of school-age children. Results and discussion. In the context of the innovative transformation of the health care system, the problematic issues of medical support for children in educational institutions are the issues of ensuring algorithms for monitoring the health of children, determining the influence of intraschool and medico-social factors on health and the formation of health-oriented behavior; systems for improving the skills and knowledge of school health workers on the issues of maintaining children's health, assessing health indicators and the results of preventive interventions.The solution of these issues is possible by introducing a unified coordinating structure of medical support for students of general secondary education institutions, with the development of its structural and functional model and defining the functions of all participants / performers to ensure an adequate system of medical support preserve the health of children in school conditions. The proposed Conceptual Model with substantiation of the functions and composition of specialists, elements of communication is aimed at preventing the spread of non-communicable diseases among students, the formation of a value attitude towards health in schoolchildren, will contribute to the formation of health-oriented behavior.

The article presents the complex of measures which is included in the medical and prophylactic activity of the educational institutions as well as the main work directions ofpediatrician of the department of medical assistance to minors in the educational institution. Particular attention is paid to the identification of chronic non-communicable diseases ’ risk factors, including school risk factors, the psychologist's consultations, and motivation for the healthy lifestyle formation in children and teens.

The aim of this work is: to define the Conceptual model of medical provision of children in educational institutions in modern conditions. Materials and methods: analysis of data from a longitudinal study of children’s health; questionnaire of parents, teachers, heads of educational institutions on the volume of medical support for students; questioning students’ lifestyle and social determinants of health. Results: According to the study has determined the medical and social determinants which negative affect on health status of school age childrens; detected the most appropriate types of of school health services which based on the parents, medical and teachers opinion. The important also is monitoring of health status of children for develop of prevent measure for improove health status and forming of healthy lifestyle behavioral. Problematic issues to be addressed include: improving the legal framework on the competences and volumes of health care for pupils in educational institutions; material equipment; setting up a system for monitoring and analyzing the health status of students and educational groups, identifying health risk factors; establishing a continuous multimodal health-oriented system of student-oriented youth behavior. Conclusions: The health status of students and the level of health-oriented behavior, the reform of the medical sector require introduction of an effective system of medical support for students of organized groups, improving the system of preventive care for students, parents, which is presented in the Conceptual model.

The function of preserving and strengthening the health of children occupies a special place in the activities of teachers of each educational institution. To carry out effective work on the preservation, strengthening and formation of children's health, it is necessary that the teachers themselves be ready to engage in health-preserving activities. The author notes that the most relevant and effective is the preparation of students at the university for the implementation of the function of preserving and strengthening the health of schoolchildren. The author reveals the conditions necessary to increase the level of readiness of students-defectologists for activities to preserve and strengthen the health of children.

Introduction/Objective. Estimating the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCD), multimorbidities, and their association with self-rated health as well as satisfaction with healthcare. Methods. This cross-sectional study was conducted among ethnic Serb communities at Kosovo and Metohija during 2015?2016. Data of sociodemographic and lifestyle characteristics, self-rated health status and satisfaction with healthcare was obtained through a survey which included 1 067 adults, 535 of whom reported presence of non-communicable disease. Multinomial regression was performed to analysis factors associated with self-rated health and self-rated satisfaction with the healthcare. Results. Presence of one NCD was reported by 50.1% respondents, whereas 23.1% of the respondents reported multimorbidity. While self-reported NCD presence was negatively associated with self-rated health (p: 0.001-0.016), no association between NCDs and satisfaction with healthcare was observed (p: 0.178-0.974). Being single (p: 0.011-0.017), lower educational level (p: 0.031-0.047), regular breakfast (p = 0.032), frequent vegetable intake (p: 0.009-0.029), no alcohol use (p = 0.010), shorter waiting time (p: 0.001-0.004) and sufficient finance for dental care (p = 0.021) were factors statistically significantly correlated with greater satisfaction with the healthcare. Conclusion. Presence of non-communicable diseases was negatively associated with self-rated health status, while shorter waiting time and adequate finances were associated with higher level of satisfaction with the healthcare. The results of our study could be of the importance for policy makers in creating the more effective healthcare service in unstable political and security situations.


Development of health and longevity of people is equally important as the economic and social development of the people in a country. Prosperity and productivity of a nation depend upon the quality of population which in turn is determined by the education and health status of the people. Technological advancement and scientific development indicate the development of education, but the health condition of the people is not up to the mark as we compare with the scientific advancement. It is a fact that most of the people are suffering from non-communicable diseases such as blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, kidney, lung and heart diseases. Most of the deaths are also take place due to non-communicable diseases. Therefore, the authors made an attempt to examine the health status of kallakinaru tribals at kodaikanal hills, Tamilnadu. It is vivid that most of the people in the village are suffering from many human ailments due to illiteracy and inadequate income.
