This paper presents the experimental investigation of the Ultra Wideband (UWB) signal interference effect between commercialized UWB communication device (UCD) and Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT). Recent research trend shows increase of interest to make use of UWB signal for Internet of Things (IoT) application. It is expected that IoT devices based on UWB technology increases in the future and can become unattended jammer to other services. The analysis involves two sets of experimental set up: i) UWB communication system is the interference victim from narrow band signal and other UWB transmission and ii) signal radiated from UCD devices using UWB signal interfere to other existing radio communication services which in this case a VSAT. The level of interference is evaluated based on the measured bit error rate (BER), round trip time (RTT) and carrier over noise ratio (C/N). The finding from this paper can be used as a guide for new interference mitigation techniques and spectrum planning purposes.

In the development process of modern radio communication device, it is important of merits that the frequency of the generator performance, which can directly affect the performance of the communication device. In usual, often used to motivate phase-locked loop (PLL) to realize the broadband frequency synthesizer of low noise and direct digital synthesizer (DDS) of small step. This paper expounded a kind of technology that realized S-band DDS-driven PLL low spurious frequence synthesizer.Designed to get which the bandwidth of 250MHz and spurious suppression indicators meet the whole band is better than -65dBc.

The article is focused on the problem of degrading the signals of broadband 3G / 4G mobile radio access systems in places of subscribers clustering and in so-called “dead zones”. The analysis of the actual principles of building mobile networks has been carried out, the main disadvantages of the approaches to the development of cellular networks have been identified. The current trend of building macro cells in the urban environment has lost its effectiveness due to the increasing frequencies used; it has to be replaced by a fundamentally new way of planning mobile networks. A new principle of providing access to mobile communications “from inside to outside” is proposed, which takes into account the needs of a large number of subscribers in the premises. It is based on setting the maximum number of internal base stations fully meeting the needs of internal network users. Such a distinction will positively affect all subscribers and improve the experience from using the high-quality services of the mobile operators, which will result in increasing the economic performance

AbstractThe vast geographic distances and the economic importance of activities in remote areas like the Arctic demand new innovative radio-based solutions. There are numerous unsolved research challenges pertaining to (broadband) radio communication coverage and satellite navigation reliability throughout the large region composed of the Norwegian Exclusive Economic Zone and the Arctic waters. This paper outlines these challenges and the current situation, in addition to identifying future systems capable of mitigating the crucial lack of adequate electronic communications infrastructure in the High North.

A technique of synthesis of a wireless digital communication network with package switching, providing transfer of video messages of real time scale between elements of multipurpose information-operating system in conditions of high failure rate of central elements, is considered. As conceptual model of a telecommunication network – the network of the mixed structure, including multipurpose devices, constructed on the basis of standards of a broadband radio access with switching of packages and two interconnected levels of network interaction of elements (local and main) is accepted. The technique of synthesis of a wireless network is based on the multilevel, combined adaptation of a telecommunication network in the conditions of refusals of central elements, which primary goal is rational change of parameters, functions of network elements in close interrelation with purposeful transformation of structure of telecommunication system subnetworks. The main objective of carrying out the combined adaptation of the network consists in achievement of necessary throughput of communication system depending on degree of failure rate of central elements. Properties of multilevel adaptation were investigated in the course of realization of the combined (structurally-parametrical) synthesis with use of the aggregate approach of modelling of difficult technical systems. Efficiency of the specified technique is proven by the results of the imitating experiment with use of the aggregate model of a wireless network of data transmission with switching of packages, obtained previously. The experimental data, received at natural research of networks of a broadband radio communication on the basis of standards 802.11 b/g/n, have shown, that time of processing of packages of a message essentially depends on use of existing ways of adaptation. In particular, application of effective algorithms of adaptation (both parametrical and structural) will allow to reduce the time of finding of details (packages) in broadband communication devices by several times and, thereby, to provide demanded throughput of the network functioning in the conditions of refusals of central elements.

Abstract Over the past 20 years, there have been many advances in the computer industry as well as in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Computers are becoming more compact and have multiple purposes, such as the iPhone, which is a cell phone, mp3 player, and an Internet browser. AAC devices also have evolved to become multi-purpose devices; the most sophisticated devices have functionality similar to the iPhone and iPod. Recently, the idea of having the iPhone and iPad as a communication device was initiated with the development of language applications specifically for this format. It might be true that this idea could become the future of AAC devices; however, there are major access issues to overcome before the idea is a reality. This article will chronicle advancements in AAC devices, specifically on access methods, throughout the years, towards the transition to handheld devices. The newest technologies hold much promise with both features and affordability factors being highly attractive. Yet, these technologies must be made to incorporate alternate access if they are to meet their fullest potential as AAC tools.
