<p><b>Gothic for a time was the architectural style that represented all of Western civilization, in subsequent centuries it has been reasserted as the Western style in periods of cultural, national, and religious revivals. The thesis identifies the current societal conditions as conducive to potentially another such revival, this is the niche the thesis explored architecturally. To consider Gothic architecture in the context of modern secular society, using fractal based computational design to realize this ‘new secular Gothic’, a ‘Vitrine-Gothic’.</b></p> <p>The concept of a Vitrine-Gothic was explored through the development of tool sets and design processes, experimenting with the best methods for integrating fractals as a secular substitute for traditional Gothic symbolism. The tools aimed for maximal adaptability, and design control, which were tested by how well they responded to a range of secular user requirements derived from spiritual concepts. Demonstrated architecturally in the creation of experimental pavilion’s, illustrating the validity of the developed tools, and the cultural relevancy of the architectural results in aesthetic, and functional terms.</p> <p>The research suggests that there is an opportunity for merging digital tools with traditional architecture, to re-examine the fundamentals of traditional architecture in terms of aesthetics, function, symbolism, etc, in relation to the cultural and technological realities of modern society. Thus producing architectural results with greater cultural relevancy.</p>

The article is devoted to the theoretical reconstruction of the of the conceptual version of postsecular religiosity. All the theories clame that the traditional religion can survive today through cover-up it’s religious identity. This is accompanied by the marginalization of religious organizations and an increase in the influence of religion at the level of individual interest. Theological analysis is limited mainly by negative characteristics when describing post-secular religiosity: the devaluation of transcendence and the rejection of dualism (Daniel HervierLeger), the absence of doctrinal boundaries (Thomas Luckmann), the weakening of the ideological core of the doctrine (Roberto Cipriani). The author argues that post-secular religion is an implicit ideology in terms of the way it functions. In the late XX - early XXI century, a number of researchers (U. Eco, S. Zizek, G. Marcuse and others) noted that the imaginary post-ideology of modern society is associated with the formation of a specific type of ideology, which can be designated as "implicit". The post-Christian secular world is also "implicitly" religious. The author reveals the commonality of the processes taking place in the field of religion with the characteristics of the "post-ideological" world and concludes that the religiosity of the post-secular society is most productive to study precisely as part of an implicit ideology.

In today’s conditions of globalization, social transformations, and digitalisation of modern society the research becomes topical. Any modern social and professional sphere requires fluency in English. Effective oral and written communication requires intensification of university students’ educational activity via internal motivation development. Digital technologies, which are an integral part of modern youth’s life, were chosen as a means of internal motivation formation. The purpose of the study was to determine the role of digital technologies as a means of internal motives formation in training future English language and literature teachers. The data were collected with the help of the following methods: pilot training,, content analysis of digital tools for teaching English, surveys (questionnaires and research interviews) and scientific (pedagogical) observation. The study theoretically substantiates and experimentally confirms the effectiveness of the proposed digital technologies, the use of which promotes the development of internal motives at university students in the process of learning English. Tasks that involved the active use of messengers and selected digital tools were developed. Such messengers as WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, Facebook and digital tools for learning English as Duolingo, Quizlet, Learnenglish Podcast, Speak – practice your English, Lingualeo were selected. As a result of the research it is proved that the use of digital technologies in both extracurricular and extracurricular work has a positive effect on the formation of university students’ internal motives that helps to improve their academic achievements in learning English at special faculty.

The architectural discourse in Indonesia generally focuses on traditional architecture that represents specific regional icons, the synthesis of traditional architecture with European-style architecture, and modern architecture inspired by International Style. This research focuses on the architectural style in Indonesia which flourished in the 1950s, known as the Jengki architectural style. This architectural style is essential in the history of Indonesian architecture, considering that the style reflects the spirit of nationalism and post-colonial Indonesian. This research aims to explore the icons of Jengki architecture, by elucidating the architectural concepts that underlie the two oldest Jengki buildings in Bandung, West Java. The analysis showed that the characteristics of this architectural style shown by the configuration of architectural elements resembling the form of a pentagon, mostly asymmetrical in spatial layout, playful articulation of ornaments, and the use of local materials. The pentagon becomes an icon of Pancasila, which is a foundational principle of the new Indonesian state and symbolize the meaning of nationalism. Thus, the icon which also represents symbolic meaning becomes an essential aspect in the design of Jengki-style buildings in the future. This icon can be an alternative to be applied to modern buildings that are intended to display national icons, rather than particular regional icons. Besides enriching the architectural knowledge of Indonesian architecture, the results of this study are beneficial to architectural practitioners, stakeholders, and architectural conservationists as well

The Auxerre Cathedral chevet plays an important role in the concept of a "Burgundian Gothic" architectural style. Despite its importance as the first monument in Burgundy in which the impact of High Gothic Chartres Cathedral is evident, it has been interpreted as resistant to Chartres because of its "diaphanous" double-shell structure. However, when its hybrid nature is understood as the result of a series of dynamic, overlapping designs, it appears that the Auxerre builders progressively modified their elevation to reflect the new architecture at Chartres, while retaining the double-shell structure. The result proved to be aesthetically successful, but structurally compromised, especially in the buttressing of the high vaults, which had to be consolidated in the 14th century. Because it is a large, completed component of an episcopal complex, the Auxerre chevet has been considered to be the formative monument of a Burgundian Gothic style. Many of its features have been traced to "progressive" northern French centers, thereby emphasizing its "provincial" position. If its early sources are identified at Lausanne Cathedral and Nôtre-Dame in Dijon, the Auxerre chevet can be seen as a more distinctive synthesis of 13th-century architectural currents and as part of a complex and diverse development of Gothic architecture in Burgundy.

Identify the features of the artistic and plastic properties of gothic and neo-gothic architecture. Find their characteristic forms and artistic and compositional features, explore and highlight the characteristic stylistic interpretations of gothic architecture in modern clothing collections. The study used the basic principles of a systematic approach to the art design of modern author's clothing collections: literary and analytical studies and figuratively associative stylization of the source of creativity. The analysis carried out and the most characteristic artistic and compositional solutions of the gothic architectural style solutions. The basic techniques and stylization of the elements of the gothic architectural style in modern collections of fashionable clothes are determined. The principles of design modern collections of fashion designers are defined, where a gothic architectural style was used as a creative source. The research results used in the development of the author's collection of women's clothing. The paper sets out the basic artistic and compositional features of the gothic and neo-gothic architectural styles (forms, decorative elements and color combinations) and their application in the design of collections of modern fashionable clothes. The analysis of the artistic and compositional features of the collections of the world's leading designers in the gothic and neo-gothic styles carried out and information about the features of their interpretation systematized. Practical recommendations on the choice artistic and compositional solutions, design and decorative elements, selection of materials, color, accessories, hats,  for the design of modern women's clothing with stylization elements of gothic and neo-gothic architectural styles are presented. The research results used to develop a collection of women's clothing.

As the outerwear of a building, its color is one of the most significant features of a city. During thousands years of development the colors not only served for protection and decoration, but have been endowed with many intensions in the field of philosophy, politics, religion, culture and so on. Hence there has been formed a unique and integrated culture of colors. As many other cities, Xian is faced with the problem of maintaining its feature in the course of its development. On the basis of protecting the original style and features of the old town, delivering the profound cultural deposits, exploring the connection between traditional culture and modern architectural creation has become a common starting point for the architects in Xian. Based on the culture of Tang dynasty, the new Tang dynasty architecture is a bold attempt to shape a modern city and is also a direct reflection of the architects feeling about Chinese traditional architecture. In this paper, the writer studied the relationship between the colors of the new Tang dynasty architectural style and the creation of the modern Xian architecture from the point of architectural history and architectural design. Also, the paper explored its impact and inspiration on the modern architectural creation of Xian from the perspective of time feature. Moreover, it disclosed the value of the new Tang dynasty architectural style in a modern way and provided references, enlightenments and new ideas for the modern architectural creation in a historic city.

Thanks to the technical innovation and new demands of modern society, great changes have taken place in the field of French architecture in the 20th century, especially after World War II. Some pioneers tried to find new ways of building to replace the classical tradition. However, the authorities who lead the opinions of the public clung to their preference of traditional architecture for a long time. Even so, some state buildings in modern style began to emerge in France in the 1950s. Many important public buildings constructed in the period from 1940 to 1960 and their building conditions were studied and the result shows that the shift of French state patronage played an important role in the modernization process. This change resulted from various factors, both internal and external. The event was vital for the French mainstream architecture to keep pace with the times.

This article discusses the current situation of religion caused by the forces of globalization by analyzing the developing phenomenon related to religion in contemporary society. It argues that globalization has a mixed impact on religion in ways that lead to the opposing view of secularist scholars that religion will be diminished. Apparently, religion has experienced a revival in many parts of the world, mainly in the form of religious fundamentalism. Problems and challenges posed by globalization, such as the environmental crisis and secular society have provided the opportunity and the power to religion to revitalize itself and to transform themselves into a religion with a new form that has a role and a new identity. Furthermore, globalization may lead to the decline of organized religion in modern society and certain intellectual subculture, but it does not cause the death of religion in private life. This is in line with the emergence of the phenomenon of “believing without belonging”. In short, globalization has helped to transform the religion itself and changed its strategy to address the problems and challenges of globalization to create “world de-secularization”. [Artikel ini membahas keadaan mutakhir agama yang diakibatkan oleh kekuatan-kekuatan globalisasi dengan melakukan analisa atas fenomena yang sedang berkembang terkait agama dalam masyarakat kontemporer. Ia berargumen bahwa globalisasi memiliki dampak yang beragam terhadap agama dengan cara-cara yang justru mengarah kepada kebalikan dari ramalan musnahnya agama sebagaimana dipromosikan oleh para pendukung teori sekularisme. Tampaknya, agama mengalami kebangkitan kembali di berbagai belahan dunia, utamanya dalam bentuk gerakan fundamentalisme agama. Masalah dan tantangan yang diakibatkan oleh globalisasi, seperti krisis lingkungan dan masyarakat sekuler, justru telah memberikan kesempatan dan kekuatan kepada agama untuk merevitalisasi dirinya dan melakukan transformasi diri menjadi agama dengan bentuk baru yang memiliki peranan dan identitas baru. Lebih jauh, globalisasi telah menyebabkan kemunduran agama formal pada masyarakat modern dan subkultur intelektual tertentu, meski tidak sampai menyebabkan kematian agama dalam kehidupan pribadi. Hal ini seiring munculnya fenomena “believing without belonging”. Singkat kata, globalisasi telah membantu agama mentransformasi dirinya dan mengubah strateginya dalam mengatasi berbagai masalah dan tantangan globalisasi sehingga menciptakan “desekularisasi dunia”
