The purposes of this research is elaborating the capability of thinking critically FRISCO (Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity and Overview) in solving problem based on Polya stage (Research is underdtanding the problems, Creating the plan, Implementing the plan and Reviewing), as reviewd by cognitive style of Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI). It is such a kind of qualitative descriptive and purposive technical sampling research used in this thesis, after some experiments the author found 1 particular subject in each style wether it from Field Dependent (FD) style of Field Independent (FI) style which was taken from Christian 2 junior high school Salatiga. Based on the research, FD subject incapable of implementing Polya stage, while FI subject capable of implementing Polya stage. Based on those four stages: FD is lack of capabillities compliying the criteria of FRISCO, while FI subject meets the requirements of FRISCO.

This study aims to describe the thinking process of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems reviewed based on cognitive style field dependent and field independent. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method, while the method of data retrieval is test and interview. The study conducted on the VII grade students of SMPN 2 Marga Asih. The subjects of the study were 2 students from junior high school consisting of 1 students with cognitive field dependent and 1 student style with an independent cognitive field. The results showed that there were significant differences between the two subjects in processing information, that was the subject of FI understand the problem better when compared with the subject of FD. Because if processing information was not stored properly, it will be very influential in the next step.

The main target of the current study is to explain the metacognition of junior high school students with Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) cognitive styles in mathematics problem-solving. It should be noted that the statistical population of this study was all junior high school students in the Sragen regency in the 2018/2019 academic year. To reach the research purpose, different instruments such as the cognitive style tests, the problem-solving exercises, and the interview guidance were used. Data analysis was carried out by data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results indicated that the students who have field-independent cognitive style had high self-confidence that they were able to solve the problem correctly, able to do planning steps, able to make important decisions for themselves, so they can solve the problem properly. Students with FD cognitive style are completely confident that their answer is correct, but they have not yet clarified the steps they need to solve their problems and have not yet focused on their shortcomings in mathematics problem solving, so their task results in mathematics problem-solving incorrectness answer.   Keywords: Cognitive style; Mathematics problem solving; Metacognition

The results showed the success of the participants in carrying out basic passing techniques in the futsal game after being given actions from cycle 1 and cycle 2. The result was that for each indicator there was an increase from the preparation indicator increasing to 95,83 percent, implementation 82,5 percent, and movement final 91,25 percent. The conclusion of this study is that the varied drill method can improve the basic futsal passing technique skills of the futsal extracurricular members of the UM Lab Junior High School. The suggestion of the results of this study is that an extracurricular trainer can use a variety of drill methods and can be used by futsal extracurricular participants as new knowledge about the forms of basic passing technique training in futsal games. Advances in technology cause a lot of damage to the environment and cultural shifts in society. This condition requires learning to integrate technology with the environment and society. Society-based industrial era 4.0 towards 5.0 studying and technology must pay attention to the preservation of nature and culture in society. The approach that fits this mandate is SETS (science, environment, technology, and society). The SETS approach can be applied in various media, methods and learning models. One of them is a science comic for junior high school that has included the SETS component in its material. This research is a qualitative descriptive study about the relationship between SETS components in junior high school science comics. The instruments in this study were data cards and operational definitions. The data in this study are in the form of words, language, pictures, and behavior that show the representation of the SETS components. The analysis results show that all SETS components have been represented in the science comics. SETS which is integrated into the learning process is expected to improve the quality of students in facing an increasingly advanced industrial era but still environmentally friendly.

One of thinking concepts which connects real life to mathematics is called metaphorical thinking. Metaphor and modelling are two closely related concepts. Besides, each individual performs different cognitive styles, such as field independent (FI) and field dependent (FD) cognitive styles. This factor possibly leads to different metaphorical thinking in solving algebraic problems. The participants of this qualitative research consist of two students at grade 7 of one of junior high school in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, with FI and FD as their cognitive styles. Based on the findings, it is found that: 1) Metaphorical thinking of the student with FI cognitive style in solving the algebraic problem in the stage of understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back is considered to achieve the target for each criteria of CREATE; 2) Metaphorical thinking of the student with FD cognitive style in solving the problem in the all four stages but could not reveal all criteria mentioned in CREATE. This happens as the student is unable to find the appropriate metaphor to the algebraic problem. Therefore, the student does not need to explain the suitability of the metaphor to the algebraic problem.
