Diharapkan kajian ini dapat memberikan gambaran pendekatan kualitatif pada konsep struktur dan diterapkan dalam proses penyusunan konsep perancangan arsitektur sehingga dapat menghasilkan bentuk struktur yang baik.kata kunci: kaidah struktur, bangunan tinggi, kreativitas arsitek, estetika strukturAbstractRule of structure often is an inhibitor of the process of creativity of architects in designing building’s shape. Many architectural works only play on the packaging, without considering the efficiency of the structure, especially in the design of large buildings, both tall and wide-spanning buildings. Generally, tall buildings although their function and appearance are different use the same structure, namely the core and frame structure, which is distinguished from shape (additive, subtractive, rotation, repetition), color, type of material, so that structural irregularities are hidden in pursuit the building shape. This is because the transformation of form as exploration step in realizing the design architect does not include aesthetic considerations structures as part of the creative process. The structural approach still seems full of formulas and numbers which are considered to hinder the creative process in processing forms and spaces. Therefore many designs manipulate the outer shape with additional construction, which tends to be ornamental. Architects generally avoid presenting structures as part of aesthetics, whereas structural analysis is a process that must be passed in the design concept in order to construct a building design. This study is a structural approach model in tall buildings by following the basic step in the structural analysis process. It is hoped that this study can provide an overview of qualitative approach in structural concepts and could be applied in the process of architectural design concepts so that it could produce the right structural design.key words: rules of structure, tall building, architect creativity, aesthetic structures

Tari Tingang Nelise merupakan tari tradisional yang berkembang di desa Long Tuyoq khususnya Sub Suku Long Gelaat. ABSTRACT Tingang Nelise dance is a traditional dance of Dayak community, Long Gelaat tribe in Long Tuyoq village. This dance is a folk dance that is performed specifically at Nemlaai events, children's traditional events, weddings, and Dangai. Tingang Nelise dance is inspired by the daily activities of hornbills that are grooming their feathers and beautifying themselves. Tingang Nelise dance is one of the dances that have many variations of the Karang Sapeq dances, which is the embodiment of Tingang Nelise or the result of a change in name which was originally known as the Tingang Mate Dance, but because it gives less meaning and also because the movement is more accurately called Nelise (decorated). This research will explore the form and structure of the presentation of the Tingang Nelise dance with a choreography and structure approach. The choreography approach looks at themes, dancers, movements, dress and make-up, properties, and music accompaniment. While the structural approach of the Tingang Nelise dance is seen from the structural analysis of dance in the language analysis which analyzes from the smallest movement. Starting from the elements of movement, motives movement, phrases movement, sentences, and group movement. The results of the analysis conclude that the Tingang Nelise Dance has a characteristic that can be seen from the motives of the movement which are dominated by foot and hand movements. Structurally, the Tingang Nelise dance is divided into 4 groups and has 7 characteristic motive movement, namely the Ngaset that jumps to the right and left in a squatting position. The other motives are Nyebeb, Nyegung, Nyebib, Lemako, Nyelut, and Nelise.

Abstract High-rise buildings in big cities are crucial for business, economic, educational, residential, and entertainment activities in recent times. The technology discoveries in various fields that support high-rise building construction such as structure, mechanical, electrical, and materials have opened up opportunities for comfortable and environmentally safe architectural work. The first milestone of high-rise building construction knowledge in Indonesia was the completion of the thirteen-floors Sarinah retail building in 1967. Indonesia, especially in Jakarta, then experienced rapid growth of high-rise buildings construction. However, there is limited research on the development of high-rise building designs in Indonesia, especially from an architectural design perspective. It leads to the lack of literature on high-rise building design in Indonesia. By utilizing a publicly accessible database from the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat and recent literature called Designing Tall Building by Mark Sarkisian, this paper explores the design development of high-rise buildings in Jakarta from time to time in the aspects of architecture, structure and sustainability.

The review of the design and construction details of the external wall assembly of a 122 m (400 ft) tall building in a Canadian city is presented. Inadequate tolerance consideration for the steel frame structure and elements of the building envelope and changes in the fireproofing method led to a series of changes and conflicts, delay in the project, and added costs. This case study is presented to show the need to adopt integrated building design principles from the conceptual stage to achieve compatibility between building subsystems while they are being assembled and during the life of the building and to accelerate the construction process. Key words: building envelope, tolerances, integrated building design, metal air pan, tall buildings, building engineering, case study, fireproofing.

AbstractRising global emission have led to a renewed popularity of timber in building design, including timber-concrete tall buildings up to 18 stories. In spite of this surge in wood construction, there remains a gap in understanding of long-term structural behavior, particularly wood creep. Unlike concrete, code prescriptions for wood design are lacking in robust estimates for structural shortening. Models for wood creep have become increasingly necessary due to the potential for unforeseen shortening, especially with respect to differential shortening. These effects can have serious impacts as timber building heights continue to grow. This study lays the groundwork for wood compliance prediction models for use in timber design. A thorough review of wood creep studies was conducted and viable experimental results were compiled into a database. Studies were chosen based on correlation of experimental conditions with a realistic building environment. An unbiased parameter identification method, originally applied to concrete prediction models, was used to fit multiple compliance functions to each data curve. Based on individual curve fittings, statistical analysis was performed to determine the best fit function and average parameter values for the collective database. A power law trend in wood creep, with lognormal parameter distribution, was confirmed by the results.

Most steel beam-column connections actually show semi-rigid deformation behavior that can contribute substantially to overall displacements of the structure and to the distribution of member forces. Steel frame structure with semi-rigid connections are becoming more and more popular due to their many advantages such as the better satisfaction with the flexible architectural design, low inclusive cost and environmental protect as well. So it is very necessary that studying the behavior of those steel frame under cyclic reversal loading. On the basics of connections experiments the experiment research on the lateral resistance system of steel frame structure has been completed. Two one-second scale, one-bay, two-story steel frames with semi-rigid connections under cyclic reversal loading. The seismic behavior of the steel frames with semi-rigid connections, including the failure pattern, occurrence order of plastic hinge, hysteretic property and energy dissipation, etc, was investigated in this paper. Some conclusions were obtained that by employing top-mounted and two web angles connections, the higher distortion occurred in the frames, and the internal force distributing of beams and columns was changed, and the ductility and the absorbs seismic energy capability of steel frames can be improved effectively.

Tripoli is a city of a Mediterranean Sea climate; this has contributed with some social and religious factors to affect the architectural and urban design, which all originally has come from the Islamic content. This study argues the climatic features of Tripoli in order to show the ways followed by the Libyan Muslim architect. In other words, these ways were used to adapt with the climate and create the demanding architectural treatments, which have served the building units. This is considered as a study case that can discuss the possibility of the climatic reflection on the walls. That is to say, the walls’ thickness, the type of the used substance in building, the substance’s properties, the type of roof used in covering the building units and the architectural design of the building as treatments achieved professionally by the architect in decreasing the heat in summer and increasing the heat in winter through the mass block. Additionally, the researchers have stated that Tripoli’s building design respected the privacy of the inhabitants and their isolation from the world outside their buildings. That is because they wanted to have their own cold spaces inside which were rich of light, air and shadow. As a result of the aforementioned considerations, the architectural buildings contained the uncovered space and the broken entrance to keep the privacy from the passengers and to protect the inhabitants from wind and sand. These were regarded as final solutions for the architectural and climatic problem. Further, this study illustrates the active role of using the planning including the architectural formations and the treatments of motion path. That is according to their width, their length, their form, their guidance and their direction change in order to make shadow and isolate the front of buildings. This also contributed to give the streets the northern wind which in turn helped to keep the air moving as long as possible to tone down the climatic influences. Moreover, the planning aimed to show its turn through analytical, architectural and documentary survey for realistic examples in the archeological registrar of the potential city treatments. These architectural elements were important in making the sustainable architecture in respect to the environment and human relaxation requirements. Finally, the researchers measured the following factors temperatures, wind, rain, and ratio humidity for variety of spaces in the city. That was followed by qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis supported by graphs

Children are the future successors of the nation who must be equipped with supporting knowledge and education. One of the factors that influence the development of children are children’s creativity. Creativity is important for children because creativity is useful as a human need to be creative, creativity allows children to express themselves and thoughts in solving problem and many more. Creativity activities in schools are limited, namely 4-5 hours due to strict curriculum (Kemendikbud, 2012). The facilities that support the development of children's creativity in Pontianak is quite limited. This condition shows that Pontianak needs facilities that support the development of children's creativity, namely the Child Creativity Center in Pontianak. The design method starts from identifying the problem by looking at the issues, data collecting consists of primary data and secondary data, and then the data is analyzed which produced pre design drawing. The emphasis on the design is child-friendly which includes aspects of safety, comfort, freedom and stimulates children's potential. This concept produces a mass building design with a circular shape that has been transformed. The use of the right colors, shapes, materials and dimensions is the core of the design of the Children's Creativity Center in Pontianak.

Abstract Green concepts are important things to apply on buildings. The application of the green concept on mixed-use buildings must consider several criteria, one of which is the comfort aspect. The density of commercial buildings in Medan City causes a reduction in green open space, and even many buildings do not comply with the minimum green open space requirements on their buildings, which can support the development of this city to reduce environmental temperatures. The aim of this study is to analyze the green concept that can be applied to mixed-use buildings in urban areas. A mixed-use building design with the application of green building principles is the right choice to reduce the effects of climate. The green building concept can help reduce excess heat radiation inside and outside the building. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation. The analysis was carried out descriptively to obtain a mixed-use building model with the green building concept. The results show that land use efficiency, energy conservation, materials and water conservation can be applied to provide comfortable on buildings.
