Background/Objectives: This paper investigated and analyzed the phenomena in implementing the curriculum and characteristics of an entrepreneurship education model existing technology-driven agri-food industry. Methods/Statistical analysis: The line-by-line coding method of grounded theory approach by Strauss & Corbin was applied for this study and the collected data was analyzed with the NVIVO 12 program from QSR which is a tool for analyzing quality comparative analysis for better efficiency in open coding. Findings: The contents and the design of education are drawn from founders who are participants of the education, education supply organizations and lecturers and traits in an education model were derived by analyzing the structural relationship between them. This study reveals that entrepreneurial education with contextual knowledge in the agri-food industry strengthens achievements in boosting up competitiveness for industry, local areas, sales and enhancing the field response-ability. Yet, unbalanced educational contents can be caused by a biased education devoted to technologies only for production and cultivation and a lack of diversity and professionalism. Phenomena in implementing curriculum and characteristics of an education model also reveal a lack of support for educational institutions and trainees and unsatisfactory of overall administration system due to an insufficient post management system. In this paper, an essential education contents needed by the agri-food sector entrepreneur are related to information competency enhancement.

Makerspaces are a relatively new phenomenon that seem to create an innovative environment for individuals to work on projects and learn about technology. This article presents a grounded theory study, which investigates the impact that makerspaces have on innovation. Strauss and Corbin’s grounded theory methodology is used to research this exploratory topic. The data sample consists of 16 interviews of members of a makerspace in Shanghai, China. Data analysis was conducted abiding by Strauss and Corbin’s coding framework, entailing open coding, axial coding, and selective coding as well as coding tools, such as the coding paradigm and the conditional matrix. Collaborative learning was identified as the core phenomenon of this research, and The Collaborative Learning and its Outcomes Theory was created. The emergent theory contributes to the understanding of how makerspaces impact outcomes, such as innovation and venture creation, as well as explain how collaborative learning in conjunction with other modes of learning can facilitate learning at various complexities. As such, this study’s contributions are in developing the theoretical understanding of makerspaces as well as collaborative learning. It offers managerial and pedagogical implications that can help create learning environments where collaborative learning is fostered.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to apply a grounded theory (GT) approach to develop a theory of resistance to change in the financial management of Laotian family firms. Design/methodology/approach The research adopts a GT approach, using a theoretical sampling procedure. Interviews were conducted with 36 Laotian family firms between April 2017 and May 2019. The in-depth interview transcriptions were analyed using open coding, axial coding and selective coding. Findings The interviewees identified that strategic planning, budgeting and management processes are factors influencing resistance to change. Research results show that accounting portfolios, investment decisions and return on assets are aspects of financial management that are particularly prone to change. The authors, therefore, suggest that Laotian family firms’ reduction in confidence and loss aversion may activate resistance to the adoption of more efficient financial management practices. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first research to attempt to use grounded data to emerge a theory of resistance to change in financial management in Laos.

This paper explains process of integrating the pertinent elements of critical thinking and mathematical thinking using Straussian grounded theory methodology. The process of integrating the pertinent elements occurs during selective coding process in the grounded theory analysis. Findings from open coding and axial coding process are the main source of information for development of the selective coding. The selective coding process employs the reflective coding matrix to develop and contextualize the core category. The refined core category depicts the process theory of justifying decision reasonably in dominating orientation. A conditional matrix is then developed as a coding device to visualize the process theory. The study contributes useful information to engineering education instructions, which is aligned with the expectations of engineering program outcomes set by the Engineering Accreditation Council.

Abstract To discover the theoretic constructs that confirm, disconfirm, or extend the principles and their applications appropriate for National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA)–accredited postprofessional athletic training education programs. Objective: Interviews at the 2003 NATA Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposia.Design: Qualitative study using grounded theory procedures.Setting: Thirteen interviews were conducted with postprofessional graduates. Participants were purposefully selected based on theoretic sampling and availability.Patients and Other Participants: The transcribed interviews were analyzed using open coding, axial coding, and selective coding procedures. Member checks, reflective journaling, and triangulation were used to ensure trustworthiness.Data Collection and Analysis: The participants' comments confirmed and extended the current principles of postprofessional athletic training education programs and offered additional suggestions for more effective practical applications. Results: The emergence of this central category of novice to expert practice is a paramount finding. The tightly woven fabric of the 10 processes, when interlaced with one another, provides a strong tapestry supporting novice to expert practice via postprofessional athletic training education. The emergence of this theoretic position pushes postprofessional graduate athletic training education forward to the future for further investigation into the theoretic constructs of novice to expert practice. Conclusions:

The literature on interpersonal conflict management is already extensive and theories have been forwarded since the 1960s. However, these theories were created with proximal couples in mind. They do not address the situation of partners in long-distance relationships (LDRs). Thus, a grounded theory study was done among 10 Filipinos in LDRs. They were individually interviewed for about an hour per session and the interviews were transcribed. The transcriptions were then subjected to open coding, which yielded 18 open codes. During the selective coding, these were pared down to five categories. Their relationships were identified during the theoretical coding, which resulted in a grounded theory on conflict management in LDRs. This theory posits that the reason for the LDR; long-term relationship plans; communication practices; and the values, behaviors, and other attributes of the couple all shape long-distance conflicts. The computer-mediated communication technologies used by the long-distance couples were factors in relational maintenance.
