Personality traits have close relationships with risky behaviors in various domains, including physical education, competition, and athletic training. It is yet little known about how trait personality dimensions associate with risk events and how vital factors, such as risk perception, could affect the happening of risk events in adolescent athletes. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the prediction of risk events by regression analysis with dimensions of personality, risk perception and sports, relations between risk events, risk perception, and the facets of the personality dimensions via data collecting from 664 adolescent athletes aged 13–18 years (male 364, female 300). Secondary intent is to assess school-specific levels of training risks among sports schools, regular schools, and sports and education integrated schools. The results show that psychology events are the strongest predicted by personality traits, risk perception, and sports, followed by injury and nutrition. Emotionality has the most significant positive correlation with risk events, while other traits have a significant negative correlation with risk events, except agreeableness. The integration schools are more conducive to the healthy development of adolescent athletes’ personalities. Moreover, the research indicates that sports training can strengthen the development directions of different personality characteristics.

This research focuses on the adjustments in systolic and diastolic functions that are not fully understood in dogs submitted to athletic training. Beagle dogs carried out an endurance training program (ETP) prescribed from the external training load, corresponding to 70–80% of the lactate threshold (VLT) velocity. Eighteen dogs were randomly assigned to two groups: control (C, n = 8), active dogs that did not perform any forced exercise, and trained (T, n = 10), submitted to the ETP during eight weeks. All dogs were evaluated before and after the ETP period using two-dimensional echocardiography, M-mode, Doppler, and two-dimensional speckle tracking. A principal component analysis (PCA) of the echocardiographic variables was performed. The ETP improved the left ventricular internal dimension at the end of diastole (LVDd), the left ventricular internal dimension at the end of diastole to aorta ratio (LVDd: Ao), and the strain rate indices. PCA was able to capture the dimensionality and qualitative echocardiography changes produced by the ETP. These findings indicated that the training prescribed based on the lactate threshold improved the diastolic and systolic functions. This response may be applied to improve myocardial function, promote health, and mitigate any injuries produced during heart failure.

Abstract The athletic trainer's (AT) emergency management skill set requires competency in the delivery of basic lifesaving medications. Some lifesaving medications have been a part of athletic training practice for decades, but that list has grown as ATs' practice setting has expanded - increasing the types of em ergent conditions that the AT may have to treat. The 2020 CAATE curricular standards require athletic training students be trained to administer the following: supplemental oxygen, nitroglycerine, low dose aspirin, bronchodilators, epinephrine using automated injection device, glucagon, and naloxone. Clinically, the conditions treated by these medications can be categorized as follows: cardiac, respiratory, hypoglycemia, or anaphylaxis. All ATs should know the indications, contraindications, administration methods, and the details of patient monitoring for each medication. Generally, these medications are safe, have clear indications for use, and few contraindications. While ATs are trained to administer these medications, they must consider state laws and local policies.

Introduction. In Asia, in the early 1970s, a new concept was developed -kinesiological tape.Physiotherapists use the kinesiological band in both performance or amateur athletes and patients who are in a kinetic recovery program. The exact mechanisms by which the kinesiological band acts on the body have not yet been fully elucidated .Aim. The aim of the study was to identify in the literature the information about the potential positive or negative effects offered by the use of kinesiological tape inperformance athletes that had suffered injuries and also to identify potential prophylactic effects inhealthy athletes.Material and method. The selection of articles was made using the Google Scholar search engine, where 98 studies were found in the databasesof ResearchGate, PubMed, MinervaMedica, Journal of Athletic Training, Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy. Only studies on groups of performance athletes were included.Results. Of the 28 selected articles, 12 studies showed results in which there were increases in performance and improvements in some parameters, in 12 studies it was concluded that there were no beneficial or significant effects, and in 4 articles the results of applying the bands kinesiological and placebo effect had relatively similar positive effects.Conclusions.Kinesiology tapes do not seem to bringmajor benefits in terms of the performance inhealthy athletes. Regarding the potential prophylactic effect of kinesiological bands, several complex and longer studies need tobe performed. But the kinesiological bands could be considered as an adjuvant method in rehabilitation.

This chapter moves its attention to the activities performed on the premises of the gymnasia of Egypt, in order to get a sense of the institution’s daily life, which represented the result of a common feeling of shared traditions by its members and contributed to the perpetuation of such feeling. Attention is devoted to the physical activities performed in the gymnasia, including games and athletic contests, as well as to the religious events which the gymnasium’s members set up. The gymnasium was the favourite setting for athletic training and for other cultural endeavours, aimed at intellectual entertainment, display of cultural prowess, competition, socializing, bonding, and networking; the gymnasium was not a place devoted to education proper. A short excursus provides an overview of athletics in Egypt. The final section of the chapter focuses on the presence, character, and role of private associations housed in gymnasia.

Abstract Optical segments based flexible systems are the key for the development of futuristic advanced wearable devices for health monitoring, robotics, and ultraprecision positioning in industrial applications. Here, we have demonstrated an processed optical microfiber based multifunctional sensing system, which overcomes the various limitations of most widely reported electronics and material-based flexible devices. By optimizing the position of the post processed microfiber configuration in optimized Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) thickness and controlling the interference between the fundamental mode and higher order modes of microfiber to form and tunable interference pattern, we are able to make an efficient, simple, flexible and economical optical wearable vector bending system with a sensitivity as high as 1.01nm/degree. In addition, this skinmountable sensing sensor shows a remarkable and ultrasensitivity of -3.07 nm/oC. This ultrahigh sensitivity, mechanical robustness, with the excellent flexible and biocompatible nature also makes this sensing system a dominant candidate for wearable medical devices for elder-care facilities, physioclogical monitoring, athletic training, and rehabilitation program.

Abstract Interprofessional education (IPE) is essential to prepare students for future healthcare careers and to meet accreditation requirements for health profession schools. After surveying successful IPE programs across the country, Marquette University developed a curricular approach. Over 1,500 students from 10 health professions (Athletic Training, Medical Laboratory Science, Counseling Psychology, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Speech-Language Pathology) currently participate in a series of four interactive, half-day courses which are aligned with the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) core competencies. Courses were moved online in response to the pandemic and are currently delivered using Microsoft Teams. Feedback from learners and faculty is gathered using post-event surveys and has been overwhelmingly positive. Learner outcomes are measured using the Interprofessional Collaborative Competencies Attainment Survey. Overall, this approach has proven to be an effective and efficient model for delivering IPE to large numbers of students.

The study motivated the tendency of students to drop out of classes where they often had to leave as Indonesia awaits transmission of the Covid19 virus. This study was to determine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the physical fitness of  SMA Negeri 1 Guntur students. Researchers used a quantitative approach. All participants in this study were students of SMA Negeri 1 Guntur. The sampling technique in this study used three grades of random sampling technique including Grade X, XI, and XII from SMA Negeri 1 Guntur. To examine the results, the researchers used two Likert questionnaires as data collection tools: the fitness questionnaire and the athletic questionnaire during the pandemic. The analysis of the data used is Karl Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Method, which seeks to test the correlation between athletic training and fitness during a pandemic. The results showed the linearity test results obtained by Sig. If the linearity deviation > 0.05 or 0.632 > 0.05, there is a relationship between athletic variables and fitness during the pandemic. For correlation tests, see Sig. (2 tails) <0.05 or Sig value. (2 tails) is 0.000 & lt; 0.05, indicating that there is a correlation between physical education variables and students' physical fitness during the pandemic. SMAN 1 Guntur, Demak Regency.

The goals of this narrative review are to provide a brief overview of the muscle and tendon adaptations to eccentric resistance exercise and address the applications of this form of training to aid rehabilitative interventions and enhance sports performance. This work is centered on the author contributions to the Special Issue entitled “Eccentric Exercise: Adaptations and Applications for Health and Performance”. The major themes from the contributing authors include the need to place greater attention on eccentric exercise mode selection based on training goals and individual fitness level, optimal approaches to implementing eccentric resistance exercise for therapeutic purposes, factors that affect the use of eccentric exercise across the lifespan, and general recommendations to integrate eccentric exercise in athletic training regimens. The authors propose that movement velocity and the absorption or recovery of kinetic energy are critical components of eccentric exercise programming. Regarding the therapeutic use of eccentric resistance training, patient-level factors regarding condition severity, fitness level, and stage of rehabilitation should govern the plan of care. In athletic populations, use of eccentric exercise may improve movement competency and promote improved safety and performance of sport-specific tasks. Eccentric resistance training is a viable option for youth, young adults, and older adults when the exercise prescription appropriately addresses program goals, exercise tolerability, and compliance. Despite the benefits of eccentric exercise, several key questions remain unanswered regarding its application underscoring the need for further investigation.

Practicing is an activity that accounts for the highest levels of musical expertise, but one that many musicians do not typically—or at least consistently—carry out. Most people have done some kind of independent practicing (or academic studying or athletic training) in their lives and have likely heard platitudes such as “Practice makes perfect.” Such folk knowledge tends to suggest that quantity of practice is the most important factor. Unfortunately, popular handling of psychological research has largely reinforced this misconception. More careful consideration of the research, however, shows that although developing musicians certainly must make time for practice, the efficiency and deliberateness of time spent are also crucial. This chapter begins by defining “deliberate practice” as the type of practicing that optimally contributes to musical skill acquisition. Through consistent practice over time, skills that began as highly conscious and effortful progress to ultimately becoming fluently and automatically performed. Rather than striving to simply amass hours of practice time, musicians are encouraged to be more productive and efficient by strategically planning, executing, and reflecting on their practice.
