The purpose of this study is to analize the improving of mathematical communication skills’s students, the learning acktivities of student and student’s response at Realistic Mathematics (RME) learning.  The research is held at MTs.S Syamsudduha in 2018-2019 years, which using quasi experiment with a quantitative approach. This study used two samples, they are experiment’s class as treatment class consists of 34 students and control’s class which  not give the treatment consists of 36 students which the sample was taken in this research used the technique sampling purposive. This data was obtained with test technique and observation sheet. Data is analyzed with t test using SPSS 18, the result show that there is an increasing of mathematical communication skills of student on statistical study with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning. This shows that value of n-gain on student’s mathematical communication skill for experiment’s class is 0,49 and control’s class is 0,17 with significant 0,000 < 0,05, thats mean there is an increasing in the learning process. So, RME learning can improve student’s mathematical communication skills of  students better than students who is taught by conventional learning.

Mathematics communication is a way of sharing ideas and clarifying comprehension. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve mathematical communication skills. The student worksheet is used because it is shorter, more comfortable and summarizes the material along with the questions to be able to assist students in the ability of mathematics communication. This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of student worksheets based on Realistic Mathematics Education Approach to improve students' mathematical communication skills. This research is development research with ADDIE development model, that is analysis, design, develop, evaluation implementation. The subject of this research is the students of the first grade of VII. Instruments used in the form of validation sheet, mathematics communication ability test, and interview guidance manual. The validation sheet is addressed to material experts and media experts. The test to determine students 'mathematical communication skills is done before and after the use of student worksheet so that it is known whether there is an increase in students' mathematical communication ability. Interview guides are conducted with teachers and students to find out the curricula and character of students in the school. Data analysis techniques in this study using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The resulting student worksheet design based on the RME approach that matches the characteristics, curriculum, and student tasks. This research can be developed to the stage of development, implementation, and evaluation.

The purposive of this study are (1) the average mathematical communication abilities of students who have learned by applying the ethnomatemics-based Realistic Mathematics Education approach, (2) the mastery of learning mathematical communication abilities of students who are taught with the Mathematics-Based Realistic Mathematics approach. This type of research is quantitative with true experimental design research design using the form of Posttest Only Control. The sample uses a simple random sampling technique and is carried out in class V SD 5 Jepang as an experimental class and class V SD 1 Gulang as a control class. Data collection techniques are tests of students' mathematical communication abilities. Data analysis techniques in this study include normality test, homogeneity test, average difference test and learning completeness test. The results showed that (1) the average mathematical communication ability of the experimental class students was higher than the average mathematical communication ability of control class students with expository learning; (2) students' mathematical communication abilities with ethnomatemicsbased Realistic Mathematics Education approach achieve mastery learning.

The purpose of this study is no other to know the extent to which the RME approach can improve the mathematical communication skills of students MTS Negeri 2 Purwakarta. The method used is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The 5th grade students of MTsN 2 Purwakarta, which were 5 classes, were used as the population for this study while the research samples were class VIIA as the experimental class and VIIE as the control class. Determination of the sample is taken by the researcher accepting the state of the subject as it is after being grouped not randomly purely to be subjected to the treatment of mathematics learning through Realistic Mathematics Education approach and conventional approach. Instrument of research in the form of test instrument of mathematical communication ability. The results show that the improvement of students' mathematical communication ability using RME approach is better than using the usual approach.b

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika yang menuntut kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa antara yang mendapatkan model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dan open-ended. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen 1 yang mendapat model pembelajaran PBL dengan pendekatan RME dan kelas eksperimen 2 yang mendapat model pembelajaran PBL dengan pendekatan Open-Ended. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Cikajang dengan sampel penelitiannya adalah kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dan VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen 2. Materi yang dijadikan bahan penelitian yaitu tentang sistem persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel (SPLSV). Instrumen penelitian ini berupa tes dengan bentuk uraian yang diberikan pada saat pretest dan posttest serta diberikan tes skala sikap siswa. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education lebih baik dari pada pendekatan Open-Ended.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa, Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education, Pendekatan Open-Ended.AbstractThis research is based on the low ability of students & apos mathematical communication whichhas an impact on the low ability to solve the mathematical problems that demand the students&apos; mathematical communication ability. This study aims to determine the comparison of students&apos; mathematical communication skills between Learning Problem Based Learning Model&nbsp; with Realistic Mathematics Education and open-ended approach. The benefit of this research in general is to provide an overview of PBL learning model with RME and open-ended approach to students & apos mathematical communication ability. The research method used in this research is a quasi experimental method consisting of two classes, namely experimental class 1 which received PBL learning model with RME approach and experiment class 2 which got PBL learning model with Open-Ended approach. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Cikajang with the research sample is class VII A as experimental class 1 and VII B as experiment class 2. The material used as research material is about system of equation and linear inequality one variable (SPLSV). The instrument of this research is a test with the form of description given at the time of pretest and posttest and given the students attitude scale test. From the results obtained pretest Ho accepted so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in students&apos; mathematical communication between experimental class 1 and experiment class 2. From the result posttest obtained Ha accepted, so it can be concluded mathematical communication skills between students who get the model of learning Problem Based Learning Using the Realistic Mathematic Education approach is better than the Open-Ended approach. While the scale of student attitudes processed with Likert scale and it can be concluded that students interpret both the PBL learning model with the approach of RME and open-ended.Keyword: Student Mathematical Communication Skill, Problem Based Learning Model, Realistic Mathematics Education Approach, Open-Ended Approach.

This study aims to improve mathematics communication skills and problem solving through the application of realistic mathematics education. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were 18 students of class V SD Muhammadiyah Notoprajan, while the object of this research was the mathematics communication skills and problem solving abilities. The data collection techniques used were tests and observations. The data collection instruments used were mathematical communication test questions and problem solving, and observation sheets. Mathematical communication data and problem solving abilities were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that there is an increase in mathematics communication skills and problem solving through the application of realistic mathematics education. This is indicated by the percentage of students with high and very high mathematics communication skills in the first cycle of 72.22% and an increase in the second cycle to 94%. The percentage of students with the ability to solve math problems in the high and very high category in the first cycle was 66.67%, an increase in the second cycle to 100%.

This study aims to obtain a description of the application of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) that can improve students' mathematical communication ability. The type of research used is a classroom action research that refers to the design of Kemmis and Mc.Taggart research they are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed that Implementation of mathematics learning with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach that can improve mathematical communication ability is a mathematics learning that has been done in accordance with RME characteristics, That is: use of real context (teacher presents a contextual problem and ask the student to understand the given problem). use of mathematical models (the students modeling by using props to solve problem), use of student production and construction in learning (the teacher gives opportunity to all students to solve the problem, and invite students to deliver the answer), existence of interaction (interaction occurs between teacher and students, and between student one with another), and the existence of integration (combines one unit of mathematics with other units also have integrated with other scientific fields).

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui pembelajaran matematika realistik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tidakan kelas yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-1 SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan dengan jumlah siswa 26 orang. Objek penelitian adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diberi pembelajaran matematika realistik pada materi bilangan pecahan. Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan  bahwa penerapan pembelajaran  matematika realistik memberikan  dampak  positif  terhadap  peningkatan  kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang  ditunjukkan  dengan peningkatan pada: 1)  Nilai rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa 79,79 pada siklus I dan 84,71 pada siklus II; 2) Aktivitas aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan pembelajaran matematika realistik dikategorikan  efektif  yakni memperoleh  persentase  80%  pada siklus I dan 90% efektif pada siklus dua dengan kriteria keefektifan ≥ 80%; 3) Capaian ketuntasan kalasikal kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa 73,08% pada siklus I dan 88,46% pada siklus II dengan nilai minimal ketuntasan klasikal 85%. Abstract (The Aplication of Realistic Mathematics Educations to Improve students’ mathematical communication Skills)This study aims to improve students' mathematical communication skills through realistic mathematics education. The research method used is classroom action research which includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were students of class VII-1 of SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan with a total of 26 students. The object of research is the mathematical communication skills of students who are given realistic mathematics education on fraction material. The results showed that the application of realistic mathematics education had a positive impact on the improvement of students 'mathematical communication skills as indicated by an increase in: 1) The average value of students' mathematical communication skills was 79.79 in cycle I and 84.71 in cycle II; 2) The active activity of students in learning with realistic mathematics learning is categorized as effective, namely obtaining 80% percentage in the first cycle and 90% effective in the second cycle with the effectiveness criteria ≥ 80%; 3) Achievement of Kalasikal completeness of students' mathematical communication skills is 73.08% in cycle I and 88.46% in cycle II with a minimum grade of 85% classical completeness.
