AbstractNowadays, the automobile sector is one of the hottest applications, where vehicles can be intelligent by using IoT technology. But unfortunately, these vehicles suffer from many crimes. Hence it has become a big challenge for the IoT to avoid such these crimes from professional thieves. This paper presents a proposal for the development of a vehicle guard and alarm system using biometric authentication based on IoT technology. Whereas, for vehicle security issues; the proposed system VSS − IoT gives only full access for authorized vehicle’s driver based on the interface of a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ development board, Pi camera, PIR sensor, and smart-phone. Therefore, if the proposed system detects an unauthorized person inside the vehicle, then the system will notify and send his image to vehicle’s owner and/or to a police workstation through the Internet, as well as, its location in case the vehicle is stolen or damaged. The proposed system is tested on two datasets that are ORL dataset and our dataset. The experimental results of the VSS − IoT showed that the accuracy is 98.2% on ORL dataset, whereas 99.6% when applied on our dataset. Besides, the VSS − IoT enhances the sensitivity to 97.7% which is important for real-time. As well as the result demonstrated that the proposed system took shorter time 0.152 sec under different illumination conditions, when the value of the threshold is 3 * 103 and 3.50 * 103. Therefore, the VSS − IoT is very robust and reliable for face recognition when deployed on the low-power processor.

The paper focuses on two areas, automation and security. Raspberry Pi is the heart of the project and it is fuelled by Machine Learning Algorithms using Open CV and Internet of Things. Face recognition uses Linear Binary Pattern and if an unknown person uses their workstation, a message will be sent to the respective person with the photo of the person who uses the workstation. Face recognition is also being used for uploading attendance and switching ON and OFF appliances automatically. During un-official hours, A Human Detection algorithm is being used to detect the human presence. If an unknown person enters the office, a photo of the person will be taken and sent to the authorities. This technology is a combination of Computer Vision, Machine learning and Internet of things, that serves to be an efficient tool for both automation and security.

Semua perusahaan menginginkan sistem kehadiran yang lebih baik di mana dapat meningkatkan tingkat kedisiplinan pegawai dalam kehadiran. Dalam hal ini, menjadi masalah yang harus dicari solusinya dan membutuhkan fasilitas atau perancangan berupa sistem kehadiran yang dapat memudahkan dalam melakukan absensi kehadiran dan mengurangi akan terjadinya kesalahan dan kecurangan. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem sebagai pemecahan masalah pada sistem kehadiran yang telah ada saat ini dengan sistem kehadiran dengan pengenalan wajah. Raspberry Pi digunakan sebagai mikro komputer untuk melakukan proses pengolahan data untuk mengaktifkan webcam yang akan mendeteksi wajah ketika gerakan telah terdeteksi oleh PIR sensor sebagai input serta perancangan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Python yang dijalankan pada platform sistem operasi Raspbian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu  mampu menerapkan sistem yang dapat melakukan pembacaan wajah pegawai untuk input kehadiran secara real time.   Kata Kunci: Kehadiran, Raspberry, Face Recognition, Webcam, Python

Internet Of Things (IoT) is a continually growing area which aids us to unite diverse objects. The proposed system exhibits the universal notion of utilizing cloud-based intellectual automotive car parking facilities in smart cities as a notable implementation of the IoT. Such services demonstrate to be a noteworthy part of the IoT and thus serving users in no small amount due to its pure commerce positioned qualities. Electromagnetic fields are being used by RFID to detect and track tags ascribed to objects automatically. The RFID technology is used in this system along with suitable IoT protocols to evade human interference, which reduces the cost. Information is bartered using readers and tags. RFID and IoT technologies are mainly used to automate the guide systems and make them strong and more accurate. Open Service Gateways can be effectively used for this module. This system established on the consequence of IoT and the purposes are solving the chaos, bewilderment, and extensive backlogs in parking spaces like malls and business parks that are customary as a consequence of the increased use of automobiles. The proposed work aims to solve these problems and offer car drivers a hassle-free and instantaneous car parking experience. While a number of nodes are positioned depends on topographical restrictions, positioning of prominent anchor sensor nodes in the smart parking is a primary factor against which the efficiency and cost of the parking system hang. A Raspberry Pi would act as a mini-computer in our system. A suitable smallest path methodology would be cast-off to obtain the shortest distance between the user and every car park in the system. Hence, the pausing time of the user is decreased. This work furthermore includes the practice of remotely booking of a slot with the collaboration of android application exercising smartphones for the communication between the Smart Parking system and the user.

In this work, the design and implementation of an open source software and hardware system for Internet of Things (IoT) applications is presented. This system permits the remote monitoring of supplied data from sensors and webcams and the control of different devices such as actuators, servomotors and LEDs. The parameters which have been monitored are brightness, temperature and relative humidity all of which constitute possible environmental factors. The control and monitoring of the installation is realised through a server which is managed by an administrator. The device which rules the installation is a Raspberry Pi, a small and powerful micro-computer in a single board with low consumption, low cost and reconfigurability.

Most university students are using the bus provided by the university's management to move from one place to another place. The analysis are required to improvise the quality of the of bus services such as the amount of passenger that using the bus and information of passengers such as gender. The objectives of this project are to develop face recognition system based on gender using Raspberry Pi 4 and Intel Neural Compute Stick 2 and to test and validate the performance of the developed system for face classification and passenger counting system. Also this system is able to store passenger information into Google Firebase Cloud with Internet of Things. This system is used Raspbian in Raspberry Pi 4 with the libraries that used for face classification and recognition such as OpenCV and OpenVINO. This project able to detect faces of the passengers soon as they ride the bus and determine gender of the passengers and count passengers according gender and the information of the passengers will stored in Google Firebase. There are some recommendation that need to be added in this project to improve efficiency of the system.
