The experiment was conducted during a season of 2016 in plastic houses at Azawia- Babylon to study effect times number of spray (two times،  three times ) with four levels of spray by foliar nutrition  PIO20 (0 ،1.5 ، 2 ،2.5 ml. liter-1) in cucumber plant c.v. jamila. The experiment was conducted of factorial in design using (C.R.D) with three replicates. Results showed the treatment spray of three times significantly on the treatment spray two times when imported  plant length rate (291.4) cm ,the number of leaves (36.63) leaf and dry weight of the shoot (25.76) gm , fruit long (17.98) cm , fruit weight (109.27) gm and the number of fruits (11.80) fruit.plant-1 and the one plant yield (1.294)kg. the results also showed all the treatment of spray significantly in vegetative growth and fruiting characteristics as compared with control treatment. the results of the interaction the significant superiority of the treatment spray of three times on the level 2 ml. liter-1 plant length rate (311.3) cm ,the number of leaves (40.71) leaf and dry weight of the shoot (32.09) gm , fruit long (19.34) cm , fruit weight (116.06) gm and the number of fruits (12.97) fruit.plant-1 and the one plant yield (1.506)kg.

       Watermelon come from arid tropical and subtropical regions of Africa. Watermelon is an annual plant that grows and requires full sun. Lebak swamp soil is known to have the properties and properties of acid sulphate soils that affect the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. Fertilizers are the key to soil fertility. Compound fertilizer is a fertilizer that contains several nutrients, for example nutrients (nitrogen), potassium (K) and phosphorus (P). This study aims (i) to obtain influence and (ii) the best dosage of various applications of NPK Compound fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of watermelon plants on lebak wetland. The study was conducted in Teluk Buluh Village, Banjang District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency in July - September 2013, this study used a single randomized block design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications so that there were 25 experimental units. The factors tested were various doses of Compound NPK fertilizer, namely m1: 0.333 t.ha-1 (200 g / bed), m2: 0.666 t.ha-1 (400 g / bed), m3: 0.999 t.ha-1 ( 600 g / bed), m4: 1,332 t.ha-1 (800 g / bed) and m5: 1,665 t.ha-1 (1000 g / bed). The results of this study indicate that the dosage of Compound NPK fertilizer given to watermelon plants in swampland area had a significant effect on plant length and number of leaves aged 25 HST and 30 HST and had a very significant effect on the fruit weight and number of watermelon plants with the best treatment is  m3: 0.999 t.ha-1 (600 g / bed).

This study was conducted in experimental fields, Department of Horticulture, University of Bagdad, in Abu-Graib  during season 2011-2012 for jerusalum artichoke. This study was included the effect of dipping tubers in three concentrations of GA3(2.5,5,10g/l) (G1,G2,G3),as well as to control treatment (G0), and spraying nutrient solution Agro leaf A1 (8g/l), as well as to control treatment (A0). This study was made by using Factorial experiment (4*2) within the design RCBD with three replicates. Results could be summarized as follows: G3A0 increased field emergence (12.00 day), G2A0 increased percentage of germination (99.33%) and G2A1 increased number of branches (4.60 stem.plant-1) but the treatment G1A1gave highest rate for number of leaves, leaf area, guide of leaf area, dry weight of the vegetative parts and dry weight of 100gm tubers as(4495.10 leaf.plant-1, 2246.20 dsm2, 99.84, 922.40g, 24.00g.) respectively. The treatments gave significant differences quantity yield, so treatment G3A0 gave highest weight of the tubers as(45.55g.) but the treatment G3A1 gave highest number of the tubers as(68.00 tuber.plant-1 ) and highest yield of plant as (2890g/plant).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rice husk ash dosage and eggshell on thegrowth and yield of red chili, and obtain a treatment that gives the best results on fruit red chili plant.The experiment was arranged with Group Random Design (RAK) with factorial design with twofactors and three replications, factor I is dose rice husk ash consists of three levels ie A0: 0 g /plant,A1: 25 gr / plant, A2: 50 g / plant, G3: 75gr / plant. The second factor is the dose eggshell consists of3 levels ie: C0: 0 g / plant, W1: 15 gr / plant and W2: 30 gr / plant. The experiment will have 9combination treatment from those 2 factors. The resutls showed that the provision of rice husk ashgive the significant effect on height plant growth and the number of leaves, the best dose is theprovision of rice husk ash 50 gr / plant. Provision of eggshell give real effect on plant yield of redpepper that is the number of productive branches, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight cropwith the best dosage is 30 gr / plant.

An experiment was carried out at the Horticulture Farm of the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during  the period from November 2010 to January 2011 to study the effects of cowdung and potassium on growth and yield  of Kohlrabi. The experiment consisted of three levels of cowdung (0, 20 and 40 t/ha) and four levels of potassium (0,  20, 50, 80 kg /ha). The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replications. All the  parameters were significantly influenced by application of cowdung and potassium. The highest plant height (44.65  cm), number of leaves per plant (12.11), length of largest leaf (37.54 cm), and breadth of largest leaf (18.66 cm) were  obtained from the highest dose of cowdung and potassium applied (40 t cowdung + 80 kg K/ha) while the lowest  plant height (33.64 cm), number of leaves (9.01), length of largest leaf (27.94 cm), and breadth of largest leaf (11.00  cm) were obtained from control treatment combination. The highest fresh weight of leaves (49.33 g), fresh weight of  knob (328.66 g) and fresh weight of roots (66.55 g) per plant were also recorded under the treatment combination of  40 t cowdung + 80 kg K/ha, while the lowest fresh weight of leaves (22.11 g), fresh weight of knob (136.00 g) and  fresh weight of roots (23.33 g) were obtained from control treatment combination. Similarly, the dry weight of leaves  (19.34%), knob (15.19%) and roots (32.75%) were highest under the same treatment combination of 40 t cowdung +  80 kg K/ha and the lowest dry weight of leaves (11.71%), dry weight of knob (7.38%) and dry weight of roots  (15.29%) were obtained from control treatment combination C0K0. The marketable yields of knob per plot (7.86 kg)  and per hectare (39.58 tons) were also the highest under the treatment combination 40 t cowdung/ha and 80 kg  potassium per hectare.   DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jbau.v10i1.12035   J. A field experiment was carried out in the vegetable field of Horticulture Department and Landscape Gardening, College of Agriculture, Abu-Ghraib  In the spring season 2014 to study the Role of Sustainable agriculture in the growth and yield of Eggplant, were studied of Two factors the first factor represent two treatment, first is shading with plastic nets (50% light) and the second without shading, each of these treatment contained three replicates and distributed randomly these eight treatments (without adding, Endospor Dry Mix, Biohealth, Amino Alexin, interacion between Endospor Dry Mix and Biohealth interaction between Endospor Dry Mix and Amino Alexin interaction between Biohealth and Amino Alexin triple interaction between Endospor Dry Mix and Biohealth and Amino Alexin and symbolized by (Control, A, B, O, AB, AO, BO and ABO). The experiment carried out within (Nested Design), and analyzed according to test least significant difference ( LSD) and at the probability level of 5%, Results showed the treatment A gavr a significant increase at height of the plant (98.5 cm), and the number of leaves (135.0 leaf.plant-1), and the dry weight of vegetative (125.8 g), and the length of the main root (51.17 cm), and the dry weight of roots (17.82  g), and the length of the fruit (11.64 cm), and the diameter of the fruit (6.40 cm), and the number of fruits (13.45 fruit), and the plant yield (2.30kg.plant-1). It excelled treatment using  biostimulative ABO significantly in (leaf content of N 3.045%), and ( leaf contant P 0.684%), and (leaf content K 2.878%). The treatment of shading significantly in the plant height (97.6 cm), and the number of  leaves (117.4 leaf.plant-1), and the dry weight of vegetative (108.5 g), and the length of the main root (47.54 cm) and the dry weight of the roots (12.91 g) and the length of the fruit (11.14 cm) and the fruit diameter (6.71 cm) and the weight of the fruit (169.6 g) and the number of fruits (11.21 fruit.plant-1) and the plant yield (1.91 kg.plant-1). The interaction between treatment A and shading significantly in the number of leaves (150.0 leaf.plant-1), and the dry weight of vegetative (136.7 g) and the length of the main root (53.0 cm), and the dry weight of roots (21.38 g) and the length of the fruit (12.80 cm) and the number of fruits (14.37 fruit. plant -1) and the plant yield (2.47 kg.plant-1). The interaction between the treatment AO and the shading significantly in the plant height (122.7 cm), and the length of the main root (53.00 cm) and the diameter of the fruit (7.10 cm).

The field experiment was conducted during the agricultural season 2016-2017 in one of the greenhouses belonging to the Directorate of Agriculture of Basrah in Khor Al-Zubair, in order to study the effect of the bio-stimulator Amalgerol in some growth characteristics of two types of sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). The trial included 18 treatments involving two types of sweet peppers: KAMAR, RIDA F1 and three concentrations of both Amalgerol (0, 2.5 and 5) ml.l-1 and the appetizer (0, 1 and 1.5) ml.l-1. The factorial experiment was implemented with Split Plot Design by Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicates and compared to the least significant differences test LSD at a probability level of 0.05. The main results are summarized as follows: The plants treated with 2.5 and 5 ml.l-1 of Amalgerol biomarker had a significant difference between them in each of the height of the plant, the number of leaves.plants-1, the leaf area in addition to the dry weight of the total vegetation, while the concentration of 5 ml.l-1 was superior in average fruit weight (59.44 g), fruit yield (41.95), early plant yield (233.52 g), plant yield (2.45 kg), and early productivity (3.92 ton / ha -1), in addition to total productivity of 41.15 tons.ha-1.The plants of the hybrid "Kamar" were superior in average fruit weight (61.62 g) and the early plant yield (233.40 g) in addition to the early productivity (3.921 tons.ha-1), while the hybrid plants of "Rida P1" were superior in average fruit number (45.90 fruits) and the total productivity (37.78 tons.ha-1). The interaction between the two factors of the stem and the average number of leaves. Plants-1 and the rate of the number of fruits.plants-1.


The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Research Field of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Dhaka during the period from August to October 2020 to investigate the response of different doses of nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and yield of Kangkong (Ipomoea reptans poir). The experiment consisted of four nitrogen fertilizer levels viz. T0: no fertilizer, T1: 60 kg nitrogen fertilizer, T2: 80 kg nitrogen fertilizer, and T3: 100 kg nitrogen fertilizer per hectare. The result revealed that plant height, number of leaves per plant, number of branches per plant, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, root length per plant, fresh weight of root per plant, dry weight of root per plant, yield per plot and yield per hectare grown under different doses of nitrogen fertilizer viz. control (T0), 60 kg N per hectare (T1), 80 kg N per hectare (T2), showed significant reduction than those grown in 100 kg N per hectare (T3). The experiment was conducted following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. The application of different doses of nitrogen significantly influences the growth and yield of Kangkong. The maximum plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, fresh weight per plant, root length was obtained from T3 treatment while the minimum was found from the control treatment (T0) at 60 days after sowing. The highest yield (17.87 t/ha) was performed from the treatment T3 and the lowest yield (11.83t/ha) was obtained from the control treatment where no nitrogen was used.

Tomato is a high nutritional value fruit vegetables. Genetic variation is valuable plant breeding material which can be measured in terms of yield potential. This study aimed to compare the growth and yield components of 16 tomato genotypes in the lowlands. The experiment was conducted in Medan Baru Experimental Station of, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, with the elevation of 10 m above sea level. This was performed from September 2013 to January 2014. The experiment was set in a completely randomized design with a single factor of 16 tomato genotypes with 3 replications acounting to 48 experimental units, each of which consisted of 2 plants. The sixteen genotypes tested were Mirah, Berlian, CIN 06, SU, Kudamati 3, Lombok 3, Lombok 4, Makassar, Aceh 3, Aceh 5, Ranti Situbondo, Ranti, Situbondo Gelombang, Situbondo, Kemir, Meranti 2, Gondol Lonjong. There were significant differences in plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, stomatal density, flowering age, harvest age, fruit diameter, fruit sweetness, fruit hardness, total fruit weight, fresh weight, and dry weight. Based on total fruit weight. The genotypes potentially cultivated in the lowlands are Ranti, Situbondo Gelombang, Kudamati 3, Situbondo, and Makassar.
