<p>The purpose of this study is to analyze the English National Final Examination for Junior High School. Validity and reliability are the two kinds of characteristics of a good test which are concerned. Since the five packages of the test are the same in content and only different on the placement of the items, so it is considered to take only one package becomes sample. This study was analyzed by using the descriptive method. Content validity was analyzed by comparing the materials in the syllabus to the items of the test, and construct validity was analyzed by comparing the indicators in the syllabus to the items of the test. While the reliability was analyzed by using Kuder-Richardson Formula (KR20). The result of the study shows that the English National Final Examination for Junior High School was valid and reliable. The content validity shows 100% valid, and the construct validity shows 100% valid. While the reliability shows coefficient 0.89, and it is reliable. So, the English National Final Examination for Junior High School has fulfilled the characteristics of a good test.</p><p><br /><em></em></p>

The research has aim to examine the aspect validity of literary competance on the instrument test of the odd semester final examination in academic year 2012/2013 grade VII of the state junior high school in West Ngawi Region. The research was descriptive qualitative research, which related to the validity test of the instrument test item in the final examination. The data ceollected then analized of its validity by using the four language competence i.e. listening, speaking, reading, dan writing, and also analized based on its accordance level to the literary basic competence. The validity type which used on the research was the content validity which did not involve the statistic calculation at all except the rational analysis. The result data of the validity test was the qualitative data, i.e. the description of validity test to the odd semester final instrument test of state junior high school grade VII in academic year 2012/2013. The result of the research showed that the literary instrument test were more dominant on the writing competance aspect. It is proof on the presence of tendency to include the other competence (such as listening competence) in the writing activity. Furthermore, on the writing basic competence, the ways to demonstrate to the students were more efficient and varies so that the instrument was appropriate to be applied. On the literary aspect of instrument test, there was one of the basic competence which did not included to the instrument test, i.e. basic competence of 8.2 rewrite the fairytale using the own language of the fairytale which had ever read or listened. <p style="text-align: justify;">Within the context of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL), a process of directing oneself to facilitate individual learning more effectively, the SRL instrument development is deemed necessary to measure students’ self-reliance in learning mathematics in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) framework. The research aims to develop and test the validity and reliability of an SRL instrument, namely a 14-item SRL questionnaire accommodating four aspects, namely planning, self-monitoring, self-controlling, and evaluation. The study involved 420 junior high school students in East Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta Special Region. The results show that the questionnaire was developed as planned and that planning, monitoring, controlling, and evaluating aspects can reflect the SRL variable in a valid, reliable, and significant way supported by each aspect's behavior indicator. The SRL variable theoretical model corresponds (good fit) with the empirical data, and all of the items are likely valid and reliable to assess student's mathematics SRL in the STEM framework. The SRL questionnaire was also found suitable for use by teachers to measure junior high school students’ self-reliance in SRL.</p>

<span>Competence in research is an attractive feature that should be established for all practitioners because specialists with training and expertise in research will recognize strategic thinking, interpretation, and synthesizing more easily. Hence, this study aimed to describe the knowledge competency among junior high school mathematics teachers on the research processes applied on the contents of the various sections of a quantitative research paper. The descriptive method of research has been used to characterize the knowledge competence of 108 junior high school teachers on the research processes. The study used the research skill test, which was a researcher-made instrument, consisting of 50 multiple choice items with four choices each. The instrument went through the process of validity and reliability analysis obtaining a good result of 0.81. This study revealed that they were “novice” or had achieved the learning level of competency on the research processes applied on the contents of the different parts of a quantitative research paper. More so, they identified that interpretation of statistical results was a challenging part of doing a research paper.</span>

Islamic education is a compulsory subject in every educational institution. Students are expected do not only know theory of religion but they also understand, feel, and implement theory of religion. Therefore, evaluation instrument of affective domain for Islamic education subject need to be developed and taken care since there has not been any evaluation instrument yet which is particularly developed for Islamic education subject. So this research aim at developing evaluation instrument of affective domain for Islamic education subject that fulfill validity and reliability requirement. Population of research object is evaluation instrument of affective domain assessment and population of research subjects are Junior High School students in Samarinda. Sample of this research is taken by using stratified proportional random sampling technique. Referring to the instrument construction, the use of revised GBPP of Islamic education subject for Junior High School is considered as the correct option. Data collection was done by using questionnaire technique. Data was analyzed by using Iteman analysis technique to find out degree of validity and reliability. Data analysis result reveals Likert method questionnaire, from the test of construct validity shows cumulative variant value 90.4% or it can show 94% of theory construct which has been stated. Reliability coefficient obtained is 0.914 with 0.124 SEM value which indicate very good quality of affective domain instrument. The use of sentences in constructing Likert method instrument assisted respondents to respond the instrument well. In Likert method, constructing questionnaire takes long sentences so that the respondents feel tired to read those statements. Likert method require sequence of words to formulate a good and objective statement. The implementation is that in Islamic education subject require efforts to take the decision.

The purpose of the study is to develop an instrument to assess critical-creative reading literacy. Research was conducted at Junior High School in Malang and Batu, East Java. Validity and reliability instrument were designedin three stages of calibrate: (1) panel of expert, (2) varied sample and population test, and (3) factor analysis. The population of the study was students of Junior High Schools.  Samples were chosen based on stratified random sampling. Empirical test, using factor analysis and involving 307 students shows that dimension of the instrument developed theoretically agrees with the results of  factor analysis. Result of research indicates that the critical-creative reading literacy test consists of four dimensions namely: (1) content comprehension, (2) critical comprehension, (3) creative comprehension, and (4) problem solving based on reading comprehension. The four dimensions were elaborated to make 14 factors. The result of factor analysis indicates that each factor has loading factor bigger than 0,30. Result of calibration of the critical-creative reading literacy test has coefficients reliability 0,798.
