The ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has had a profound impact on people’s wellbeing. Here, we proposed that an individual characteristic might be associated with wellbeing; that is, materialism. Specifically, we conducted three studies (total N = 3219) to examine whether people with high levels of materialism would experience poorer wellbeing (i.e., anxiety and depression, in the current case). The results showed that materialism was positively associated with depression (Studies 1A, 1B and 2) and anxiety (Study 2). Moreover, such a relationship was mediated by people’s perceived threat of COVID-19 (Study 2). These findings were observed in both Chinese and American people. The findings are discussed in terms of their theoretical and practical contributions.

Currently, MSMEs continue to make improvements so that their productivity continues to increase. From year to year there are no Micro Enterprises that are able to advance to class. The low performance and productivity of MSMEs, especially Micro Enterprises, is certainly caused by several things. This will be described in this paper. carried out on MSMEs assisted by the Nurjalin Cilacap Foundation, totaling 16 MSMEs and spread in 4 provinces throughout Indonesia. The method used for sampling is the purposive random sampling method, where the sampling is random, but there are certain limiting criteria related to the suitability of the research objectives and is only limited to MSMEs assisted by the Nurjalin Cilacap Foundation. The number of samples taken entirely from the existing population or known as saturated sampling technique. The conclusion of this study is that the Individual Characteristic variable has a positive and significant effect on Performance and the External Factor variable has a negative and significant effect on Performance.

Two mono meso-functionalized [20]di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrins containing [Formula: see text]-formylphenyl and [Formula: see text]-iodophenyl groups at meso-position respectively were synthesized by condensing one equivalent of appropriate tetrapyrrane with one equivalent of [Formula: see text]-formyl benzaldehyde/[Formula: see text]-iodo benzaldehyde in CH2Cl2 under mild acid catalyzed conditions. The meso-formylphenyl and meso-iodophenyl functionalized di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrins were used to synthesize two covalently linked di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrins-BODIPY conjugates. The meso-formylphenyl-functionalized di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin was converted to corresponding meso-dipyrrolyl substituted di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin by treating with excess pyrrole under acid catalyzed conditions. In the next step, the meso-dipyrrolyl di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin was subjected to oxidation followed by BF2 complexation to afford the directly linked di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin-BODIPY conjugate. The meso-iodophenyl functionalized di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin was coupled with ethynyl-functionalized BODIPY under mild Pd(0) coupling condition to synthesize diphenylethyne-bridged di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin-BODIPY conjugate. The two conjugates were characterized by HR-MS, NMR, absorption, electrochemical, fluorescence and DFT studies. The spectral and electrochemical studies indicated that the two constituents, di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin and BODIPY units in the conjugates interact weakly and retain their individual characteristic features. DFT studies indicated a possibility of charge transfer between di-[Formula: see text]-benzihomoporphyrin and BODIPY units in conjugates.

This research was conducted to see the association of women leadership and individual characteristic, social support, and the diversity of working environment on women leaders. It was conducted on one of the largest textiles listed company in Indonesia with a market capitalization of more than six trillion Rupiah. This type of research is quantitative associative explanation. Purposive sampling method was used to obtain a popu-lation that fits in the criteria of a leader who have position as supervisor above to be the respondents. 100 female leaders who have been working more than a year in the company were qualified as respon-dents. Questionnaires were used with closed and opened questions. In order to analyzed the association between variables, the data was analyzed by Chi-Square analysis using SPSS. The respondents were 100 women leaders of a listed textile manufacturing company in Indonesia. The result showed that women leaders, who had high leadership capabilities due to the individual characteristic fit as a leader. They received social supports, especially from their spouses. Moreover, high diversity of working environment helped their networking. There were two kinds of individual characteristic (age and marital status) had no associative with women leadership.

This paper aims to examine the net effect of privacy fatigue of social media users on privacy protection disengagement behaviour, which is helpful to address the users’ privacy issue in the new stage of social media digitalization. Applying the Propensity Score Matching(PSM) methodology, the authors conduct the data analysis of 1,734 samples of social media users and eliminates the selectivity error caused by individual characteristic variables so as to improve the prediction accuracy of variable causality. Their research not only validates the causal relationship between privacy fatigue and privacy protection disengagement, proving that privacy fatigue can directly lead to privacy protection disengagement behaviour but also reveals that the individual characteristic variables have heterogeneous effects on the influence of privacy fatigue on protection disengagement behaviour.

The paper deals with the issues of control of court experts in civil proceedings by the court as well as the question of how much the civil court really manages the expertise. The analysis of the judicatures points to practical problems arising from expertise in civil proceedings, in parallel detecting the reasons for such problems in expert proceedings both in the Republic of Croatia and in the European Union. Individual characteristic cases from practice are the subject of qualitative research because the intention of the analysis was twofold. On the one hand, identify concrete examples of unethical behaviour, and on the other hand, use the method of abstraction and indicative method of establishing facts to point out to systematic gaps that may pose a risk of unethical behaviour in the justice sector, regardless of existing mechanisms to strengthen judicial integrity. For the purpose of the analysis, telephone interviews were conducted among judges, lawyers and court experts. The conducted interviews of targeted respondents serve to further verify the credibility of the results of this analysis. The collected data indicate practical problems in the implementation of certain legal solutions. The perspective of the interviewed interlocutors is based on the knowledge and experience gained in practice, which is certainly an important factor in assessing the improvement, but also the degree of optimization of the existing legal framework of the subject-matter complex of problems.

The article discusses the texts of Internet-based communication and correspondence in a messenger, the attention is paid to description of similarities and differences between oral and written dialogical speech. The problems of neutralizing speech features in the format of Internet-based communication and the transformation of attributes, which provide individual characteristic of the author demonstrated whilst exchanging messages in a messenger. It has been proposed to define the form of speech, typical of correspondence in the messenger, as dialogical written (printed) speech, with reference to it as to the product of intellectual activity in combination with the form of its implementation, taking into account the factor of the author's usage of technical means for typing. The author represents the approaches to identifying significant speech characteristics, which are demonstrated by the addresser in written correspondence in the messenger; these approaches are often analyzed in the process of authorship identification tests. The possibility of revealing a complex of author's individualizing features is proved. This paper emphasizes the importance of studying the signs of the graphic and communicative levels of the analysis of dialogical texts, provides the examples of implementation of such signs. In this article the relevance of combining linguistic and quantitative methods of analysis in revealing the author's individualizing identificational features is proved, the paper also outlines the prospects for further research in the field of studying the linguistic personality of the digital age.
