National Assessment will now be practiced in the place of Ujian Nasional or National Examination scheme. The new policy took place in September 2021. This new policy is very new and thus teachers and school management are not sure and felt not ready to implement this. Objective: To poll members of the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC) to determine their attitudes toward the level of education and training necessary for pharmacy technicians to perform current and expanded duties. Methods: A convenience survey was developed and sent to 130 PTEC member training programs. PTEC members include directors of college, vocational, and on-the-job training programs. Results: Thirty-seven PTEC members responded, yielding a response rate of 28.5%. Responses reflected the opinions of directors of pharmacy technician programs from 19 states. All respondents agreed that the length of training for pharmacy technicians should be standardized. They also agreed that minimum competencies should be established for pharmacy technicians and that examination should be required to obtain certification or licensure that would then enable the technician to be employed in the field. Conclusions: The use of pharmacy technicians will likely increase, as will the duties pharmacy technicians perform. Expansion of the role of pharmacy technicians, however, must be in tandem with standardizing training and establishment of competencies for pharmacy technicians. Increased responsibilities should be commensurate with increased education and national examination should be required to determine competency.

The standardised testing of school children has been the subject of significant news media attention in recent years in many developed countries around the world. This article examines the reporting of annual National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests in three major Australian newspapers, with a particular focus on the portrayal of school teachers in the coverage. Overall, teachers were presented as strongly opposed to NAPLAN and the publication of test results, yet the newspapers themselves supported the tests as an important accountability measure. Teachers were depicted as trying to influence the testing system through teaching to the test and cheating. They were presented as generally inadequate as teachers, and were blamed for perceived failings in the educational system. These findings point to implications for teacher recruitment and retention, and for journalism education and training.

The move to an outcomes-based education and training system in South Africa presents higher education and training institutions with a challenge to review their curricula and to adapt to changes brought about by the new education and health care dispensations. Key aspects of the move to outcomes-based education and training as contained in the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) Act, information regarding the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and other matters informing curriculum review are addressed. The Department of Physiotherapy of the University of the Orange Free State has just completed the first phase of restructuring its education and training programme in order to submit the qualification for registration on the NQF. The rationale behind the shift to an outcomes-based, student-centred curriculum and the key features of the programme are briefly discussed, as this is the first step towards the registration of unit standards/qualifications, a process which all education and training institutions will have to embark upon soon.

English and Mathematics are two subjects been tested in Computer-Based National Examination (UNBK). Considering the importance of those subjects, we as the society servant team, guide the students in the process of that exam preparation. The purpose of this activity to build and strengthen the students’ level of understanding of the subjects to make them more ready to face the exam. The methods are observation, pretest to measure the early competence, and posttest to measure the increasing level of understanding after joining a series of guidance and training. The result is that there is a significant increase in the level of understanding among students regarding those subjects. The Mathematics from 5,0 becomes6,8 and English subject from 5,2 to 7,0.

AbstractEducation and Culture Ministry announced Nasional Assessment to replace National Exam. This study purposes to depict elementary teachers’ readiness to face National Assessment, particularly in reading literacy. There were 23 teachers involved as the participants. They, either certified or non-certified, taught students from grade 1 to grade 6. The design of the study applied mixed approaches between qualitative and quantitative study. The participants were asked to answer reading-literacy questions and construct reading-literacy questions consisting both LOTS and HOTS levels. The result showed 70% teachers able to answer the questions consisting information and fiction texts. In other words, teachers found no problem in de-signing LOTS-based question, but they faced difficulty in constructing HOTS-based questions. These findings indicate teachers were not able to design cohesive and coherent texts. Besides, 70% of the questions did not meet the requirement of the well-structured instructions which led to ambiguity for students to solve the questions. Hence, the school management stipulated a special intervention by administering internal workshop followed up by supervision, monitoring, and evaluation carried out periodically.

Lecturers of the Department of Nursing Science of the University of Pretoria (UP) were requested to participate in an informal evaluation of a software program. The software evaluated were developed as a tutorial by the author of this article. The content of the tutorial concerns the current issues of the new education and training dispensation in South Africa, and specifically how to compile unit standards to meet the requirements of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the quality of the software. Participants were provided with a questionnaire, as well as criteria for the evaluation of software as presented in literature and information on the Web. The feedback has been useful and suggestions made by the participants have been used to improve and add to the product.

ABSTRACTCraniosynostosis (CS) is premature fusion of skull. It is divided into two groups: Syndromic craniosynostosis (SCS) and non-syndromic craniosynostosis (NSC). Its incidence in Indian population is 1:1000 live births where as in the USA it is 1:2500 live births. Its incidence varies from country to country. Molecular genetics having great interest and relevance in medical students, faculty, scientist, pediatric neurosurgeon and staff nurses, our objective was to educate the medical students, residents, researchers, clinicians, pediatric neurosurgeon, anesthetists, pediatricians, staff nurses and paramedics. We summarized here including with diagnosis, investigations, surgical therapy, induction therapy, and molecular therapy. Molecular genetics training is needed to know the information regarding development of skull, cranial connective tissue, craniofacial dysplasia, frame work, network of receptors and its etiopathogenesis. The important part is clinically with molecular therapy (MT) how to manage CS in rural sector and metropolitan cities need a special attention.
