The process of a minimarket retail business needs a system infrastructure so that the management process is easier to do and business processes can run more effectively. In this research, a system design process is carried out to give an overview of the business units at the Surya Mart minimarket retail, to create a system design object-oriented system analysis by making a UML diagram (unified modeling language) including making use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagram, and class diagram. From the results of the analysis, the results of this study obtain the results of a design or system design in the form of user interface design, database structure and structured query language to become a reference in the development process of the business to become a product application for the Surya Mart retail minimarket business process.

The General Inspectorate of Financial Information is instituted under the Ministry of Finance. Its duty is to counteract bringing into financial circulation pecuniary assets derived from illegal sources and to intercept any possible signs of money laundering. The procedure requires institutions such as banks and insurance companies to forward information of “over-the-limit” transactions in which the amounts involved exceeds the value specified by the Ministry. The efficiency of collecting information about these transactions is actually working, and is determined to a large extent by the speed and efficiency of the information systems in particular institutions responsible for those issues. The chapter discusses and analyses problems associated with the sending information about such transactions by the institution under such obligation. It lays out the range of possibilities opened up by the Unified Modeling Language (UML), which constitutes a universal tool for exchanging information within IT groups and specifying complex business processes. The potential of the language lies in its numerous extensibility mechanisms, which allow the application of various stereotypes, depending on the area given. The chapter also emphasizes significance of the CASE tool, which makes it possible to control and create UML diagrams. Programs of the CASE type are also able to generate a skeleton code used subsequently by programmers during implementation. This chapter includes an analysis and design of a system with a task of improving the efficiency of the information forwarding process by the institutions under obligation so that the criteria laid down by law are met. The description of the system has been created in accordance with the specifications of UML 2.0 and - based on many diagram types and the architecture - the business processes that it extends to and the database structure required to collect information about transactions are set forth. Thanks to the application of use cases the main functionality of the system is defined: searching for and bringing together particular transactions followed by transformation and the dispatching of reports. Complex business processes are presented by corresponding activity and interaction diagrams. The architecture and the placement of the system within the structure of the organization, however, are depicted with the help of structure diagrams such as class, component and deployment diagrams. The use made of the extensibility mechanisms of UML merits attention here. The database stereotype presented in the work made it possible for the database to be designed at the level of implementation, and the functionality of the CASE tool enabled the complete software script to be compiled on this basis.

Yoga Farm is a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) that focuses on catfish breeding that is still doing business processes manually. With this process, information received by related parties is very difficult to obtain quickly. Therefore, the product is still not widely known, and customers are still few because the system used in sales and promotions still uses a manual system. The research method used is qualitative. This study aims to create a sales information system recommended at Yoga Farm and design using Unified modeling language (UML) for the recommended business processes. Customers will get product information in real-time, products can be widely recognized, and the number of Yoga Farm customers can increase. Based on the results of this study, adoption of a web-based sales information system can certainly make it easier to get the latest information quickly, can expand the market and can also facilitate customers in the transaction. For future research, this research can be used as a reference for conducting similar studies at other MSMEs to increase sales

The need for information in life has transformed into basic needs. As an impact, this will cause problems when not handled properly. The Garuda Cooperative is one of the Employee Cooperatives in Sragen with complex managerial data but its management is still manual. To support its business process, a management information system is needed to handle data quickly and accurately. This study aims to develop a management information system for Garuda Cooperatives. The flow of research used is analysis, design, implementation, testing, and conclusion. System modeling uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML) in the form of a use case diagram and statechart diagram. The programming language used is Delphi with PostgreSQL as database management. The information system produced includes processing savings and loan business units, processing membership data and reports. The results of the system testing on 8 respondents showed that the system was running well to meet needs, had an attractive appearance, and was easy to use.

Technology users that is growing rapidly in line with the emergence of various kinds of smartphones as the mobile- and internet-based medium of communication. With the presence of the Internet and ICT, the marketing and selling processes can be conducted anytime and anywhere. Tanah Abang traditional market is one of the biggest Southeast Asian markets with complicated business activities. Many traders from inside or outside Jakarta come to the market to supply their products. Therefore, to help buyers shop by lowering their fares and to reduce traffic congestion, it is necessary to perform a research to design an online market system at Tanah Abang market, namely tenabangmarket.com. The concept of an effective modeling system is formulated by applying Grounded Research method, while the system itself is designed by using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The expected result of the research is an e-commerce system analysis in the form of online market system for traders and buyers at Tanah Abang Market, especially block F, to be next developed into the application design phas

Project management skills such as WBS, Gantt Chart and PERT have been applied in many fields, but system analysts preferred UML to project tools. This chapter recommend transformation rules from project items into objects and project charts into UML diagrams, to model all project items and processes by using UML. Therefore, UML can be applied not only to system analysis and design, but also to entire project processes. Stakeholders in a project can rethink the project in terms of object orientation and communicate with system developers using the same tool as UML.

This chapter reviews Information Systems (IS) modeling techniques, including relational algebra, structured design, architectural design, and Unified Modeling Language. A new technique “info-mathics” (i.e.,mathematical description of the hierarchical systems architecture) is defined to secure the system reliability and quality. The classification of IS categories and its attributes such as components, structure, relationships, system level, system product, system deepness, system width, system list, system end, and other are presented. Examples of the mathematical notations are provided and their meaning for the practical implications of info-mathics in system analysis and design are indicated.

Summary Objectives: Adequate instruments are needed to reflect the complexity of routine cancer registry operations properly in a business model. The activity diagram is a key instrument of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) for the modeling of business processes. The authors aim to improve descriptions of processes in cancer registration, as well as in other public health domains, through the enhancements of an activity diagram notation within the standard semantics of UML. Methods: The authors introduced the practical approach to enhance a conventional UML activity diagram, complementing it with the following business process concepts: timeline, duration for individual activities, responsibilities for individual activities within swimlanes, and descriptive text. Results: The authors used an enhanced activity diagram for modeling surveillance processes in the cancer registration domain. Specific example illustrates the use of an enhanced activity diagram to visualize a process of linking cancer registry records with external mortality files. Conclusions: Enhanced activity diagram allows for the addition of more business concepts to a single diagram and can improve descriptions of processes in cancer registration, as well as in other domains. Additional features of an enhanced activity diagram allow to advance the visualization of cancer registration processes. That, in turn, promotes the clarification of issues related to the process timeline, responsibilities for particular operations, and collaborations among process participants. Our first experiences in a cancer registry best practices development workshop setting support the usefulness of such an approach.

The idea to design an information system in PT Triwarna Eka Multimedia arises because of the current information system is still very traditional and it has an enormous dependency to physical data. Designing of an information system in PT Triwarna Eka Multimedia is aimed to identify the organization needs in managing their business process operational related to current data of sales, production and inventory. The result from those processes is aimed to build an integrated system that can meet all of the organization’s needs in running their daily business process and facing the rivalry from the competitors. The method used in this paper is a survey, literature review, and analysis of current business processes in the company These needs will be documented by using unified modeling language. This information system makes all the current operational business activities easier with the more enhanced automation than the previous information system. This system will also minimize the data lost and human error, which is usually cause by the manual process and storage data of physical data.
