This chapter reviews Information Systems (IS) modeling techniques, including relational algebra, structured design, architectural design, and Unified Modeling Language. A new technique “info-mathics” (i.e.,mathematical description of the hierarchical systems architecture) is defined to secure the system reliability and quality. The classification of IS categories and its attributes such as components, structure, relationships, system level, system product, system deepness, system width, system list, system end, and other are presented. Examples of the mathematical notations are provided and their meaning for the practical implications of info-mathics in system analysis and design are indicated.

Design of smart library architecture model is a new architectural model of integrating library information systems in several universities that still use WebApp but are local, so that it is expected to be connected to the new architectural design. The design of this model focuses on the use of web services, the application of the concept of Open access by utilizing QR Code as an Internet of Things (IoT). This design focuses on the technology that will be used to integrate library information systems in all universities, especially in the city of Batam. Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) is a methodology used in designing smart library architecture models and using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Architectural design consists of business architecture, information architecture, and technology architecture. Business architecture design modeling is described in the business use case explaining the actors namely students and library staff as well. The results of the design of the smart library architecture model are in the form of design recommendations for the construction of smart libraries at universities in the city of Batam. The design of this smart library architecture model with the application of technological trends will provide convenience and support to the academic community in the use of library systems.

Technology users that is growing rapidly in line with the emergence of various kinds of smartphones as the mobile- and internet-based medium of communication. With the presence of the Internet and ICT, the marketing and selling processes can be conducted anytime and anywhere. Tanah Abang traditional market is one of the biggest Southeast Asian markets with complicated business activities. Many traders from inside or outside Jakarta come to the market to supply their products. Therefore, to help buyers shop by lowering their fares and to reduce traffic congestion, it is necessary to perform a research to design an online market system at Tanah Abang market, namely tenabangmarket.com. The concept of an effective modeling system is formulated by applying Grounded Research method, while the system itself is designed by using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The expected result of the research is an e-commerce system analysis in the form of online market system for traders and buyers at Tanah Abang Market, especially block F, to be next developed into the application design phas

Project management skills such as WBS, Gantt Chart and PERT have been applied in many fields, but system analysts preferred UML to project tools. This chapter recommend transformation rules from project items into objects and project charts into UML diagrams, to model all project items and processes by using UML. Therefore, UML can be applied not only to system analysis and design, but also to entire project processes. Stakeholders in a project can rethink the project in terms of object orientation and communicate with system developers using the same tool as UML.

The article deals with the problem of searching and selecting information. Currently, this kind of problem is solved by using search information systems. The main stage of creating a search information system is the development of the project, which is carried out using the unified modeling language UML and the CASE tool Power Designer. When developing a system project using the UML modeling language, all available information about the designed system is represented as a set of graphical elements, in other words, graphical structures. Such constructions are called diagrams. They reflect the essence of the system and consider it from different sides and represent the processes that take place in it in different ways.

Abstract - Knowledge management is needed right now, but many companies or institutions are constrained in conducting knowledge management because of the limitations of the information system. In Information Systems Study Program Universitas Terbuka still uses a manual system that uses Windows file explorer. This results in the difficulty of sharing information with outsiders. Therefore we need a web-based knowledge management information system design that can solve problems so far. The design model in this article uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML) model, which is a structural model and techniques for modeling object-oriented program (OOP) design. The results of the design of knowledge management information systems are expected to be able to help develop software later. Keywords: information systems, knowledge management, Unified Modeling Language (UML).

When organizations engage in close cooperation they usually need to reorganize the business processes that serve the interface between them. This reorganization is often done with the help of business process models. As a result, the underlying information systems have to be adapted, too. The changes to the latter can be supported by information system models which are typically “written” in a different language from that of the business processes. Here we suggest an approach to facilitate the development of information system models based on the models of the respective business processes. This is achieved by mapping a suitable business process language to the Unified Modeling Language. We apply this approach in the context of an interorganizational business process.

Indonesia is the fourth country with the largest population in the world and rich of cultural heritage and local wisdom. However, the majority of Indonesian people are less caring, less knowing and minimum understanding about Indonesian culture because of the lack of facilities to provide information of Indonesian culture. On the other hand, Android development is increasingly rapid and free to develop. This is an opportunity that can be used to build a culture of learning systems to maintain the existence Indonesia culture in the eyes of Indonesian people. This research aims to create a system of Indonesian Culture Learning android based mobile application that can be used as a medium of learning Indonesian culture. The methodology of this development is using SDLC which starting from planning, requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing and maintenance. And using Android Studio as the main program, Photoshop and Microsoft Paint for image processing, and DIA to design UML. Indonesian Learning Culture can display ten kinds of culture, that is: traditional house, traditional food, traditional clothes, traditional dance, traditional language, traditional music instruments, traditional song, tribe, handy craft and tourist attraction. Where  each category shows an example of each of the provinces in Indonesia.  Keyword— Android, Indonesian Culture, Mobile Application, SDLC.  REFERENCES [1] Alwan, Motea. Using a progressive Information Technology for development of Software Modules for Enterprise Information Systems brings a lot of practical and theoretical problems. One of them is a verification of results achieved in Life Cycle Stages. Object Oriented Analysis has the main position in the Object Life Cycle of Information Systems. It gives fundamental diagrams that will be processed in the Design and Implementation phases. We mention diagrams for enterprise processes and their refining to enterprise transaction diagrams. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) has been very often used to enterprise processes and transactions modeling. There is one of very practical and theoretical problems concerning enterprise processes – their internal consistency that can be observed on the level of object transactions. We have in mind such problem as transaction feasibility and object cooperation feasibility in transactions that are strongly bound with states of objects. Therefore, a testing of object complex transactions before their programming appears to be very useful activity. This article introduces a formal description of the object cooperation logic. Therefore there is defined not only an elementary transaction feasibility but also an elementary object cooperation feasibility. It enables to search the feasibility of certain strings of elementary transactions and elementary object collaborations. One string of elementary transactions is very often regarded as a path. There are found two different systems of state logical equations. The first describes path transaction feasibility and the se- cond path object cooperation feasibility. The functional correctness of any complex transaction is founded on a functional correctness of all its paths.
