The development of the area in the Lamong Bay Surabaya which includes: Causeway, Connecting Bridge, Interchange Area, Container Yard, Pier is being carried out by the city government, this is one of the developments of land use that will give a direct influence on the surrounding traffic. Traffic problems can assume because of the large traffic flow in the area. The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of trip generation/attraction due to the construction of the Teluk Lamong port on Jalan Tambak Osowilangun, Surabaya. Predicting traffic performance on several roads and intersections around the study site (Jalan Tambak Osowilangun Surabaya) in 2020 (when the Teluk Lamong Port starts operating. The method for analyzing trip generation of vehicles entering and exiting the Teluk Lamong Port uses linear regression analysis of the relationship between volumes vehicle traffic in and out of an analog building with several variables/parameters that are thought to affect trip generation at Tanjung Perak Harbor as an analog port building. 1,626. This shows a very saturated condition, while at the intersection of Father Kalisari, the DS intersection is 1.10.Pembangunan kawasan di Teluk Lamong Surabaya yang meliputi Causeway, Jembatan Penghubung, Interchange Area, Container Yard, Dermaga sedang dilakukan pemerintah kota, hal ini merupakan salah satu pengembangan tata guna lahan yang akan memberi pengaruh langsung terhadap lalu lintas disekitarnya.

In this study, the trip making characteristics in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria are descriptively analysed. The city was divided into nine zones out of which 1,597 households were interviewed out of a total population of 15,945 households Trips generated and attracted to each zone of the city of Ado-Ekiti for business and non-business purposes were determined. The relationship between the number of trips generated and land use factors were also determined. The effects of income on car ownership and the effects of both on trip making pattern were established while trips were accrued to various modes of transport in the city. The study showed that land-use is the main factor responsible for trips production and attraction. It was established that commercial zones attracted the highest number of trips generated per week for both business and non-business trips while high and medium residential zones produced the highest number of business and non-business trips. In contrast, public zone produced the lowest number of business and non-business trips. Finally, the study shows that income is directly proportional to car ownership and that both income and car ownership have considerable effects on trip generation.

This article discusses the struggles of urban social movements for a de-neoliberalisation of housing policies in Poulantzian terms as a “condensation of the relationship of forces”. Drawing on an empirical analysis of the “Berliner Mietenvolksentscheid” (Berlin rent referendum), which was partially successful in forcing the city government of Berlin to adopt a more progressive housing policy, the article argues that urban social movements have the capacity to challenge neoliberal housing regimes. However, the specific materiality of the state apparatus and its strategic selectivity both limit the scope of intervention for social movements aiming at empowerment and non-hierarchical decision-making.

Background: It is currently believed that protein folding rates are influenced by protein structure, environment and temperature, amino acid sequence and so on. We have been working for long to determine whether and in what ways mRNA affects the protein folding rate. A large number of palindromes aroused our attention in our previous research. Whether these palindromes do have important influences on protein folding rates and what’s the mechanism? Very few related studies are focused on these problems. Objective: In this article, our motivation is to find out if palindromes have important influences on protein folding rates and what’s the mechanism. Method: In this article, the parameters of the palindromes were defined and calculated, the linear regression analysis between the values of each parameter and the experimental protein folding rates were done. Furthermore, to compare the results of different kinds of proteins, proteins were classified into the two-state proteins and the multi-state proteins. For the two kinds of proteins, the above linear regression analysis were performed respectively. Results : Protein folding rates were negatively correlated to the palindrome frequencies for all proteins. An extremely significant negative linear correlation appeared in the relationship between palindrome densities and protein folding rates. And the repeatedly used bases by different palindromes simultaneously have an important effect on the relationship between palindrome density and protein folding rate. Conclusion: The palindromes have important influences on protein folding rates, and the repeatedly used bases in different palindromes simultaneously play a key role in influencing the protein folding rates.

Urban areas are subject to subsidence due to varying natural and anthropogenic causes. Often, subsidence is interpreted and correlated to a single causal factor; however, subsidence is usually more complex. In this study, we adopt a new model to distinguish different causes of subsidence in urban areas based on complexity. Ascending and descending Sentinel-1 data were analyzed using permanent scatterer interferometry (PS-InSAR) and decomposed to estimate vertical velocity. The estimated velocity is correlated to potential causes of subsidence, and modeled using different weights, to extract the model with the highest correlations among subsidence. The model was tested in Alexandria City, Egypt, based on three potential causes of subsidence: rock type, former lakes and lagoons dewatering (FLLD), and built-up load (BL). Results of experiments on the tested area reveal singular patterns of causal factors of subsidence distributed across the northeast, northwest, central south, and parts of the city center, reflecting the rock type of those areas. Dual causes of subsidence are found in the southwest and some parts of the southeast as a contribution of rock type and FLLD, whereas the most complex causes of subsidence are found in the southeast of the city, as the newly built-up areas interact with the rock type and FLLD to form a complex subsidence regime. Those areas also show the highest subsidence values among all other parts of the city. The accuracy of the final model was confirmed using linear regression analysis, with an R2 value of 0.88.

Trip generation models aim to predict the amount of transportation movements (or the number of potential trip makers) leaving a territorial unit according to the attributes of that unit. There are two basic approaches used for modeling the generation of trips: linear regression and category analysis. This article explains the issue of trip generation modeling based on the methodology of linear regression analysis, on the example of grammar schools in Belgrade.
