This study aims to examine the improvement of students' representation ability of Class VIII on the material of two-variable linear equation system through contextual approach. This type of research is classroom action research. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive. This research was conducted on Grade VIII-A students of SMP Mahardhika in the academic year 2017/2018 with 39 students. The instrument used is a student's mathematical representation test, cycles I and II tests (after giving of action), and an observation sheet for teachers and students to conditions of action implementation. The results of this study indicate that the aspect of mathematical representation ability of students has increased because of the problems tested in each test, the more students who score above the KKM. Based on the work indicator, it is concluded that the mathematical representation ability of grade VIII-A students of SMP Mahardhika Batujajar on two-variable linear equation system can be improved through contextual approach.

This study aims to examine the improvement of student’s creative thinking ability of Class VIII on the material of two-variable linear equation system through open ended approach. This type of research is classroom action research. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive. This research was conducted on grade VIII-C student of SMP Darul Falah in the academic year 2017/2018 with 36 student. The instrument used in a student’s mathematical creative thinking test, cycle I and II test (after giving of action), and an observation sheet for teachers and students to conditions of action implementation. The result of this study indicate that the aspect of matehematical thinking creative ability of students has increased because of the problems tested in each test, the more students who score above the KKM. Based on the work indicator, it is concluded that the mathematical creative thinking ability of grade VIII-C students of SMP Darul Falah on two-variable linear equation system can be improved through open ended approach.

This study aims to generate descriptions about mathematical representation of the students of Class IX SMP Alkarim of Bengkulu City using Two-Variable Linear Equation System (TVLES) based on extended level triad ++ after exploratory study. The test instrument is about to find out by exploring (exploratory study) student's mathematical representation about set operations based on the Extended level Triad ++. The steps taken in the development of test instruments were such as, the preparation of the research permit, the implementation of the test, correcting and analyzing the test results, grouping the students into the levels of the Extended Level Triad ++ based on the test results, selecting subjects which were two students from each level to be interviewed, conducting trial interviews with several Class IX students, revising interview guidelines, conducting interviews with selected subjects using interview guides and audio recordings, analyzing data, making recapitulation of data and conclusion, and finally preparing reports. The subjects of this research were the students of Class IX of SMP Alkarim of Bengkulu City academic year 2015/2016 with total of 11 students. Based on the result of the research and discussion, it was generated the descriptions of mathematical representation of the students of Class IX SMP Alkarim of Bengkulu City about Two-Variable Linear Equation System (TVLES) based on the extended level triad ++ after the exploratory study, which are the following: there was no student in Pre-Level 0 (Pre-Intra); there were 2 students for Intra Level (Level 0) i.e. AR and LR; there were 2 students for semi intra level (level 1) i.e. PS and NN; there were 2 students for Inter Level (Level 2) i.e. PR and RO; there were 3 students for Semi-trans level (level 3) i.e. QN, RA and SW; there was 1 student for level Trans (Level 4) which is MD; and for the extended trans level (Level 5) there was only 1 student i.e. HN. Keywords: Exploratory study, Mathematical Representation, Extended level Triad ++

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of e-learning based mathematics learning on the material of the two-variable linear equation system for class VIII at MTsN 1 Mataram. This type of research is a descriptive study using a quantitative approach. The research design used a post-test-only control design. All students of class VIII at MTsN 1 Mataram were the population and the sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The sample used was class VIII-8 and VIII-9 who were a member of one sample group. The data in the study were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test to determine whether or not e-learning based mathematic learning was effective in the material of the two-variable linear equation system. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that e-learning-based mathematics learning with learning video is effectively applied to the material of the two-variable linear equation system for class VIII students at MTsN 1 Mataram the academic year 2020/2021.

The purpose of this study was to increase the activities and learning outcomes of Mathematics in the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System for class VIII-1 students of MTsN 2 Aceh Besar in the 2019/2020 academic year. The model used in this research is the Problem Based Learning model. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII-1 MTsN 2 Aceh Besar. The number of students is 32 students with 10 male students and 22 female students. This research was conducted in the 2019/2020 school year in a period of 3 months, from September 2019 to November 2019 in the odd se-mester. The research methodology is Classroom Action Research (PTK) consisting of two cycles and each cycle consisting of two meetings. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research procedure consisted of pre-research, planning cycle one, implementing action cycle one, observing cycle one, reflecting cycle one, planning cycle two, implementing action cycle two, observing cycle two and reflecting cycle two. The data collection technique is to collect test scores that are carried out at the end of each lesson in each cycle using a question instrument (written test). Obser-vation data was carried out by looking at the activeness of students in the learning process. Data were analyzed by means of percentage statistics. The results showed that there was an increase in the com-pleteness of student learning outcomes from 34.37% in the pre-study increased to 59.37% in the first cycle and increased to 84.37% in the second cycle. Student learning activities have increased from suffi-cient to good categories and good categories have increased to be very good. The application of the Problem Based Learning model can increase the activities and learning outcomes of Mathematics in the material of the Two Variable Linear Equation System for class VIII-1 students of MTsN 2 Aceh Besar in the 2019/2020 academic year.

Technological progress is very rapid, especially in the field of education, so teachers and students need to use technology in learning. ICT-based learning media is one of the uses of technology in education with the hope of improving the quality of learning. This study aims to determine the process and produce a product in the form of-based learning media flipbook on the material of a two-variable linear equation system in class VIII SMP. This research is a development research using the ADDIE development model. The data collection technique used is a non-test technique with a data collection instrument in the form of a validation sheet filled out by the validator. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive data analysis. Overall, the feasibility assessment of-based mathematics learning media flipbook on two-variable linear equation system material obtained an average of 85.70%, so-based learning media flipbook on two-variable linear equation system material in class VIII SMP is interpreted as very valid for use.Keywords: Learning Media, Flipbook, Material of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems, Validity

This study aimeds to determine the mathematical ability of vocational students in solving the HOT type three-variable linear equation system problems. This research was a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection methods were written tests and interviews. The subjects of this study were nine students of class XI Pharmacy, SMK St. Agustinus Kefamenanu, Province Nusa Tenggara Timur. Two students with low mathematical ability, two students with moderate mathematical ability, and twostudents with high mathematical ability were selected to be interviewed. The research suggest that, students with high mathematical ability and students with moderate mathematical ability are able to work on questions at the analyzing and, evaluating stage, but have not yet reached the creating stage. Students are still working on problems using the method given by the teacher. Students with low mathematical ability are only able to work on problems at the analyzing stage.

<p class="AfiliasiCxSpFirst" align="left"><strong>Abstrak:</strong></p><p class="AfiliasiCxSpMiddle">Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan representasi matematis siswa MTs Al-Washliyah Tembung di kelas VIII 3 dalam menyelesaikan masalah dari materi Sistem Persamaan Linier Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini 6 subjek diambil sebagai subjek wawancara yang mewakili 3 kelompok, yaitu kelompok atas, kelompok menengah, dan kelompok bawah ditentukan berdasarkan hasil tes. Kriteria untuk subjek wawancara adalah subjek yang dapat mewakili jawaban masing-masing kelompok dan dapat berkomunikasi dengan baik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode pengujian, dokumentasi, dan wawancara dengan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa ada siswa yang kurang mampu untuk membuat representasi visual sesuai dengan informasi dalam pertanyaan, tidak memiliki pemahaman dalam menjawab pertanyaan tentang kemampuan representasi ekspresi, dan masih mengalami kesulitan menulis representasi verbal dan menjelaskannya.</p><p class="AfiliasiCxSpMiddle" align="left"> </p><p class="AfiliasiCxSpLast" align="left"><strong>Kata Kunci</strong>:</p><p>Kemampuan Representasi Matematis</p><p> </p><p class="AfiliasiCxSpFirst" align="left"><strong><em>Abstract:</em></strong></p><p class="AfiliasiCxSpMiddle"><em>This study aims to determine the mathematical representation ability of students of MTs Al-Washliyah Tembung in class VIII 3 in solving material problems of the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV). This research is an experimental research with the aim to know: (1) improvement of the average of mathematical representation skills of class VIII student of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi before getting learning with contextual approach; (2) improvement of the average of mathematical representation skills of grade VIII student of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi before getting learning with conventional approach; (3) an average increase in student representation skills taught by a contextual learning approach is better than an increase in the average of mathematical representation skills taught by conventional learning. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi academic year 2016/2017 spread in 2 parallel classes with the number of 46 people. The population consists of two classes, then the sample is chosen by specifying the first class as the experimental class and the second class as the control class, assuming that the two classes are statistically homogeneous. This data collection technique uses test and observation techniques. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of empirical research indicate that; (1) Improvement of mathematical representation skills of class VIIIA students taught by using contextual learning model consisting of 24 students showed average value 46,25 and deviation standard 7,409 with mean increase or average N-Gain value 0, 42 is in the medium category. The improvement of the mathematical representation skills of VIIIB class students taught by using conventional learning model which consist of 22 students shows the average value 49,09 and deviation standard 15,402 with mean increase or average of N-Gain value equal to 0,25 is at low category. Inferential statistical analysis shows that (1) there is an increase in the average ability of students 'mathematical representation after having contextual learning, (2) There is an increase in the average ability of students' mathematical representation after conventional learning, and (3) students' mathematical representation with the application of contextual approach is higher than the conventional learning model in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi.  Keywords: Improved, Contextual, Conventional, N-Gain, mathematical representation skills.

The purpose of the study was to describe the types of student errors and the factors that caused students to make mistakes in solving a two-variable system of linear equations based on Watson's criteria for class VIII MTs Pattuku. This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII MTs Pattuku then chose 3 subjects to be interviewed who had the most types of errors based on Watson's criteria. The research instrument used was a diagnostic test consisting of 3 questions about a two-variable linear equation system and interview guidelines. From the results of this study, it shows that there are no students who make mistakes in missing data (committed data) and indirect manipulation (undirected manipulation). 16% made incorrect data errors (innapropriate data), 40% made incorrect procedural errors (innapropriate procedure), 68% made an omitted conclusion error, 24% made a response level conflict error, 36% made mistakes in the skill hierarchy problem, and 48% made mistakes other than the 7 categories above (above other).

This study purpose to determine the effect of the application of cooperative learning type STAD on student mathematics learning outcomes. This type of research used an experiment with Perdiktor variable: X is the result of the students' pre-test. Response Variable: Y is the change that occurs between the pretest and posttest values. The sample consisted of 20 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Ende Selatan. Based on the analysis of covariance, it shows that F (count =) 32.95 is greater than F (table =) 4.38 with dk numerator = 1 and dk denominator = 19 which gives a significant value, indicating that the STAD Type Cooperative Learning Using question card media can improving student learning outcome results for Two-Variable Linear Equation System Material in Class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Ende Selatan for academic Year 2019/2020.
