Located in the region of Alam (modern Khuzistan), Jundishapur was founded by the Sassanid emperor Shahpur I in 260. This city was home to the Jundishapur school (madrasah), one of the most important science centers in history, that harmonized within itself classical Greek philosophy, Indian culture, and the Persian scientific heritage. This fact becomes clear when one looks at its rich curriculum, which ranges from medical science and pharmacology to philosophy. This complex consisted of several sections, such as a medical school (bimaristan), a pharmacology laboratory, a translation bureau, a library, and an observatory. It also had a deep influence on Islamic culture and civilization through its professors, who, in the early years of `Abbasid rule, began to settle in the capital city of Baghdad and eventually established a similar school modeled on their school in Jundishapur. From that point on, these professors made a significant contribution to Muslim medical science and philosophy.

The article highlights the life path, pedagogical and social activities of an outstanding therapist, pupil of V.N. Vinogradov, Alexei Nikolaevich Kazem-Bek. An analysis of his scientific heritage, as well as his scientific and social activities in those areas of the clinic of internal diseases that later took shape as cardiology and phthisiology, suggests that at the turn of the 1920th centuries he was among the most prominent research therapists. So, his works on the problems of physiology and pathology of the cardiovascular system indicate that he can be attributed to the pioneers of the emerging domestic cardiology. Activities A.N. Kazem-Bek as the chairman of the Society of Physicians at Kazan University (19031907) and editor of the Kazan Medical Journal also allows him to be considered one of the representatives of the therapeutic elite in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. The article also presents materials that are not well known to the medical reader, revealing the exceptionally attractive appearance of this person-a citizen-doctor. Along with the Holy doctor F.G. Yanovsky in Kiev and N.Ya. Chistovich in St. Petersburg, the death of A.N. Kazem-Bek summed up the gaazov (coming from the Moscow doctor F.P. Gaase) tradition of medical asceticism in domestic medicine.

The article briefly highlights the life path and scientific heritage of Vlas Platonovich Zhukov (1921– 1991), Doctor of Philology, Professor, Honoured Scientist of the RSFSR, one of the leading phraseologists in Russia. The constructive pillars of the scholar’s concept consisted in two oppositions: 1) a phraseological unit and a word 2) a word and a component of a phraseological unit. In line with this direction and using the method of phraseological application, a whole complex of fundamental problems can be solved: the originality of the phraseological meaning in comparison with the lexical meaning, the sign properties of the components, the typology of accompanying words, the differentiation of synonymy and variance of phraseological units, the role of evaluativity in the formation of the semantics of a phraseological unit and its categorical properties, etc. The author’s main theoretical provisions were successfully implemented in his textbooks, teaching aids and dictionaries.

The article is devoted to the scientific heritage and life path of the professor of the faculty of psychology A.V. Yarmolenko. The scientific research of A.V. Yarmolenko was largely determined by the ideas of her teacher V.M. Ankylosing spondylitis - the founder of the St. Petersburg psychological school. First of all, these are the ideas of an integrated approach, as well as the study of pathological phenomena as a method of understanding normal psychology. The position that the mental development of abnormal and normal children proceeds according to the same laws is also important. A.V. Yarmolenko carried out the first multilateral clinical and psychological study of the ontogenetic characteristics of children with simultaneous visual and hearing impairment.
