Language Personality: Results and Prospects of the Study

This article is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Yuri Nikolaevich Karaulov, Russian linguist, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Laureate of the USSR State Prize. The main areas of Professor Yu.N. Karaulovs research interests are: 1) theory of language personality, 2) cognitive linguistics, and 3) theory and practice of lexicography. Professor Yu.N. Karaulov is the founder and head of the leading scientific school Russian Language Personality, the creator and one of the developers of the Machine Fund of the Russian Language (a system of complex computerization of linguistic research). The list of works of the outstanding researcher boasts more than 300 scientific papers, 13 monographs and 11 dictionaries. This article presents an overview of papers-reports of the participants in the International round table Language Personality: Results and Prospects of the Study, dedicated to Professor Yuri Nikolaevich Karaulov.

Konstantin Mikhailovich Lisitsyn — an outstanding military field surgeon (to the 100th anniversary of the birth)

The article presents the facts of life and career of a prominent domestic field surgeon, a talented organizer, a well-known public figure, an excellent teacher, a remarkable surgical clinician, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, laureate of the USSR State Prize, professor, lieutenant general of the medical service Konstantin Mikhailovich Lisitsyn.

ACADEMICIAN OF THE RAS ALEXANDER SERGEEVICH ISAEV — 90 YEARS ANNIVERSARY

On October 26, 2021, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeevich Isaev would have turned 90. A. S. The Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company in the scope of the art research (between 2010–2020 years)

The purpose of the article has been to learn new historical, cultural and art sources have been posted between 2010–2020 years, related to the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company occupation that. The methodology includes the researching methods usage such as: overall historical, comparative-historical, dialectical, analytical, systemic, etc. The scientific novelty implies the novice in the researched historiographical sources made up between 2010–2020 years that have significantly boosted the scientific projection to learn the historical and art facts related to the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company occupation. Conclusions. The historical timeline between 2010–2020 years related to the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company art outcomes is presented by modern domestic researcher’s monographs and publications such as: T. Blagova, O. Burkovsky, N. Vadiasova, D. Vernygor, Y. Vernygor, E. Dosenko, M. Kurinna, V. Lytvynenko, E. Roy, R. Savchenko, N. Semenova, V. Chernets, V. Shulgina, V. Shumilova etc. Due to inquire the life and creative path the choreographers who have served for the USSR State Dance Ensemble (P. Virsky, M. Vantukh), the researchers analyzed the main phases to come up with their art approaches, determined to search the chiefs regarding to the extraordinary compositional consistency, observed the dynamic to develop the musical-choreographic drama by the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company modern dance performances etc.

What Is the Collapse of the USSR?

The article justifies why the collapse of the Soviet Union should be analyzed as the intersection of a number of diverse processes and phenomena. According to the author, the existing discord within the discussion about the reasons for the collapse of the USSR can be largely explained by the fact that researchers are not trying to determine the essence of the phenomenon they are studying and to reveal the totality of its features. The lack of the reflection on what exactly the end of the existence of the USSR was and when it happened, leads to isolating individual components of the process. As a result, some authors associate the collapse of the USSR with the dire economic straits, others consider the rise of nationalism to be the main culprit, others emphasize the role of specific actors, etc. In order to determine what exactly the collapse of the USSR meant and when it happened, the author identifies the fundamental characteristics of the entity itself, dividing it into the USSR-system and the USSR-state, and traces how these characteristics changed. His research shows that the collapse of the USSR can be divided into at least two different, albeit related processes: the collapse of the system and the collapse of the state. The collapse of the system meant a change in a self-describing narrative, the most important elements of which were the discourse of the indisputable achievements of the 1917 October Revolution, the CPSU’s monopoly of power and its monolithic nature, confrontation with the capitalist countries and the socialist (state-owned) economy. It is the breakdown of these “load-bearing structures” that predetermined the future collapse of the state, making it possible for destructive factors to materialize in the form of a fiscal crisis, intra-elite conflict and mass mobilization.

On the Centenary of the Birth of Academician I.N. Blokhina

Background: April 21, 2021 marks the centenary of the birth of Irina N. Blokhina – a world-famous scientist, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the USSR State Prize, and Honorary Citizen of the city of Nizhny Novgorod. For 44 years, Dr. Blokhina headed the Nizhny Novgorod (Gorky) Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. The objective of this paper is to reflect and analyze the historical role of the personality in the development of new research areas, achievement of outstanding scientific results, and education of younger generations of scientists on the example of the life path of Dr. Blokhina, whose name is associated with the most productive times in the history of the institute. Materials and methods: In preparing the present article, we analyzed extensive archival materials, scientific and media publications, and memoirs of contemporaries. Findings: We describe how the breadth of scientific outlook of this eminent scientist, her deep and comprehensive erudition, and a constant thirst for new knowledge allowed her to see and effectively solve the most pressing problems of fundamental science and practical health care. Professor Blokhina devoted her entire life to medical science by developing priority science trends in biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, biotechnology, and molecular biology. Conclusions: The personality of Academician Irina N. Blokhina demonstrates how purposefulness, creative attitude to assigned tasks, and a high degree of responsibility enable a person to achieve top results in science and life. Our findings may be particularly useful in education of the younger generation of scientists.

State Budget of USSR in 1950s — 80s: Dynamics and Structure of Income

The dynamics and structure of the revenue side of the state budget of the USSR in the period from 1950 to 1989 are considered on the basis of official statistical collections published by the Ministry of Finance of the USSR. It is stated that the dynamics of the revenues of the state budget of the USSR during the entire studied period was positive. There was a constant increase in income, which had an average annual value of about 6,5 % in relation to the previous year, which made it possible to increase the budget by more than one third in almost every five-year period. It is indicated that in just the period under study, the revenue side of the state budget in-creased by 11,6 times. The author comes to the conclusion that the historical dynamics of the distribution of incomes between the budgets of different levels testifies to the growing tendency towards the decentralization of the Soviet economy. It was revealed that this trend looks less unambiguous if we trace the change in the share of revenues of the republican and local budgets in the structure of the USSR state budget. It is shown that the most important deterrent to the decentralization of the Soviet economy was budget regulation, which allowed the state, on the one hand, to withdraw to the budget most of the profits of the socialist economy, and on the other, to keep the budgetary resources of local authorities under control.

Braude (2008) and M.K. Yangel (2013), Head of the Department of Low-Frequency Radio Astronomy, Deputy Director of the Radio Astronomical Institute of the NAS of Ukraine (since 2007), Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (1984), Academician of the NAS of Ukraine (2003) Olexander O. Konovalenko. Taking the opportunity, the editorial board of the Visnyk of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine interviewed Academician O.O. Konovalenko and asked about his path in science, his greatest achievements and plans for the future.
