Beer brewing process has a very high demand for temperature. The beer fermentation process is the core, which is a very complex biochemical exothermic reaction. The temperature of the controlled object has a variability and uncertainty. Fermentation temperature determines the quality of the product. Therefore, we must control the temperature strictly during fermentation. The paper introduces the beer fermentation temperature measurement and control by using the DS18B20 temperature measurement system. Through the system we can significantly improve the technical parameters of the fermentation temperature, which can significantly improve the quality of beer. This system has a wide range of applications.

Optimal crop nutrition is a significant factor in increasing agricultural vintage and quality of products. Zinc (Zn) is an immobile important micronutrient, which is taken up by plants in Zn2+ form to complete their life cycle efficiently. It plays a critical metabolic role in plants and is an important constituent of proteins and other large-molecules, and serves as structural and functional unit, or controlling cofactor for a wide range of enzymes. The Zn is needed in small and in appropriate amounts for plants main physiological processes to work normally. These processes play critical roles in photosynthetic activity of plants and forming carbohydrates, synthesis of protein, reproduction and seed development, growth, and disease protection. After Zn deficiency in plants, these physical functions are decreased, and plant health and productivity suffer greatly, subsequent in reduced production or even failure of crops and often bad quality of crop products. Plant Zn deficiencies occur on variety of soils and are severe due to a combination of symptoms like chlorosis, resetting, dieback and suppressed or irregular vegetative development. In addition, various crops require varying amount of Zn. So the knowledge regarding this is not up to date. The present review discusses the Zn importance in plants, its deficiency in soil and required level of Zn for crops.

Nowadays, there is a big demand on using small sized CNC machine tools, which have low price tag, wide range of implementations, low manufacturing costs and can be used for educational purposes. These machines can achieve casual manufacturing routines, like milling and drilling in applications, where there is no need for high speed performances and super quality of products. In this work, we proposed a model of CNC for these machines and analysed its components and efficiency. The model consists of three main layers: CNC system (application layer), ARM based microcomputer as CAN master and controller (connecting layer) and Servo-Drive Step Motors (actuating layer).

Steel is still the main construction material for automobiles, general equipment and industrial machinery. Hot dipping has been proven to be an excellent method of corrosion protection of steels for a wide range of applications worldwide. Coatings of Zn-Al alloys on steel sheet have high corrosion resistance due to the corrosion prevention ability from Zn and the passivation of Al Bath composition, immersion velocity/time and substrate composition are the hot dipping parameters that more influence on the thickness and corrosion resistance of the deposited coating. In order to study their influence small amounts of magnesium were added. Experiments were performed in a hot dipping simulator using different substrates, bath compositions and hot dipping parameters. Surface layers were characterised by: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy (EDX or EDS). Cyclic corrosion tests were performed in order to observe the corrosion resistance for different Zn-Al-Mg coatings. Results show that the microstructure and composition of the substrate strongly affect the desired coating properties. Nevertheless, the influence of the magnesium on coating thickness is relevant, increasing when added in small quantities in a molten bath of Zn-5wt %Al. The quality and microstructure of the coating is affected by the amount of Mg in the bath. Cyclic corrosion tests results show that the quality of the coating is affected by the amount of Mg in the bath.

OJSC “BSW – Management Company of the Holding “BMC” produces a wide range of carbon, high‑quality, alloyed and high‑carbon steel grades, among which a signifi ant share is peritectic grade steels. Basically, the steel of this group is used to produce rolled products intended for the manufacture of components for the automotive industry. The process of production and casting of these steels is characterized by the greatest instability and is often accompanied by rejects and forced sorting of products. This situation is typical for other metallurgical enterprises. Therefore, the search for technological solutions that ensure an increase in the yield while maintaining the existing productivity of metallurgical units is an urgent aspect of improving the technology of continuous casting of peritectic grade steels. At the same time, the main scientific and technical task is to obtain a stable quality of continuously cast billets, aimed at preventing and eliminating the formation of a number of characteristic defects, primarily cracks on the surface of continuously cast billets and rolled products. The search for methods and technological solutions to improve the quality of products made of peritectic grade steel is the goal of the ongoing research.

However, despite this wide range of standardisation activity, the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27 work is unique in being both truly international and also aimed at general applications. As such, while we mention the relevant work of other standards bodies, the main focus of this chapter is the work of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27. The main purpose of this chapter is to bring the international standards for cryptographic techniques to the widest possible audience. Adoption of these standards, which have received detailed scrutiny from experts worldwide, can only help to improve the quality of products incorporating security features. Note that much of the work described in this chapter is based on recent research. For brevity, references to research papers are not included here. For further information the interested reader should consult the bibliographies in the quoted standards, or the excellent encyclopaedic work (Menezes, van Oorschot and Vanstone, 1997).

A technology of continuous casting of steel has a large effect on its contamination. In particular, proper organization of metal flows in tundish and mold is very important. After completion a series of casting through a tundish and drop of metal level in it, it possible, that the slag flows from the surface layers of the tundish to capture the metal. An analysis of results of ultrasonic control of finished strip showed, that the basic number of the revealed defects was obtained during strip rolling out of the last slabs of the last heat in a series for a tundish. Metallographic studies determined, that the defects were located in the slab axis zone and filled by macro-inclusions of complex composition. To determine the actual distribution of metal flows, a water simulation of them was accomplished for the existing design of the EVRAZ NTMK tundish. It was determined, that at the drop of metal level in a tundish, a capture of slag from the metal reservoir and its transfer into the main bath of the tundish takes place due to whirligig flows. Following the weight metal consumption, the zone of slag inclusions distribution enlarges. Besides, denudation of the metal mirror in the metal reservoir takes place, resulted in metal secondary oxidation. Based on the results of the simulation, it was proposed to modify the design of the “turbostop”, which is installed in the metal reservoir of the tundish. Besides, it was proposed to remove the dividers installation in the tundish. It was noted, that the proposed steps enable to ensure a minimal level of rejections.

The construction and selection of a suitable bijective function, that is, substitution, is now becoming an important applied task, particularly for building block encryption systems. Many articles have suggested using different approaches to determining the quality of substitution, but most of them are highly computationally complex. The solution of this problem will significantly expand the range of methods for constructing and analyzing scheme in information protection systems. The purpose of research is to find easily measurable characteristics of substitutions, allowing to evaluate their quality, and also measures of the proximity of a particular substitutions to a random one, or its distance from it. For this purpose, several characteristics were proposed in this work: difference and polynomial, and their mathematical expectation was found, as well as variance for the difference characteristic. This allows us to make a conclusion about its quality by comparing the result of calculating the characteristic for a particular substitution with the calculated mathematical expectation. From a computational point of view, the thesises of the article are of exceptional interest due to the simplicity of the algorithm for quantifying the quality of bijective function substitutions. By its nature, the operation of calculating the difference characteristic carries out a simple summation of integer terms in a fixed and small range. Such an operation, both in the modern and in the prospective element base, is embedded in the logic of a wide range of functional elements, especially when implementing computational actions in the optical range, or on other carriers related to the field of nanotechnology.
