This study aims to examine the curriculum literacy levels of prospective teachers in terms of various variables. The research sample consists of 469 teacher candidates, including 253 students from the 3rd grade and 216 students from the 4th grade, studying in Primary School Education, Preschool Education, Turkish Education, and Social Studies Education Departments of Inonu University Education Faculty. Curriculum Literacy Scale was used as a data collection tool in the study. In the findings of the study, it was observed that there was a significant difference in various sub-dimensions of the curriculum literacy of prospective teachers by different variables.

<p><strong>Abstract </strong></p><p>In this study, it is aimed to determine motivation levels of social studies prospective teachers towards teaching profession. This is a descriptive research in survey model. The study group consists of total 2193 social studies prospective teachers of 1<sup>st </sup>2<sup>nd </sup>3<sup>th</sup> 4<sup>th</sup> grade at Education Faculty of 12 Universities in the 2014­2015 academic years. According to findings of this research, the perceptions of social studies prospective teachers’ motivation for teaching profession are high and agreeing. Social studies prospective teachers’ motivation for teaching profession shows a significant difference according to the gender of teacher candidates. Female prospective teachers 'perceptions are higher than male prospective teachers' perceptions. Social studies prospective teachers’ motivation for teaching profession changes significantly according to grade level. Social studies prospective teachers’ motivation for teaching profession is at the highest level in the first grade, but it is the lowest level in the 4th grade. Social studies prospective teachers’ motivation for teaching profession does not differ significantly according to university.</p><p><strong>Öz</strong></p><p>Bu çalışmada, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik motivasyon düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Tarama modelinde betimsel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2014-2015 öğretim yılında 12 üniversitede eğitim fakültelerinin İlköğretim Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenliği 1.2.3.4. sınıflarında öğrenim gören 2193 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Acat ve Yenilmez (2004) tarafından oluşturulan “Öğretmen Adaylarının Öğretmenlik Mesleğine İlişkin Motivasyon Düzeyleri” ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik motivasyona ilişkin Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının algılarının yüksek ve katılıyorum düzeyinde olduğu bulunmuştur. Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik motivasyonlarında öğretmen adaylarının cinsiyetine göre anlamlı bir farklılık görülmektedir. Kadın Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının algıları, erkek adayların algılarından daha yüksektir. Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik motivasyonları sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı bir şekilde değişmektedir. Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik motivasyonları 1. Sınıfta en yüksek düzeyde; 4. Sınıfta ise en düşük düzeydedir. Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik motivasyonlarında üniversite değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık görülmemektedir.</p>

The aim of this study is to examine the levels of the self-efficacy of primary school teacher candidates towards first reading-writing education and whether they differentiate by various variables. The study is prepared in accordance with the screening model. The universe of this study consists of the primary school teacher candidates who receive education at an Education Faculty of a public university in Istanbul province. As for the sample, it consists of 124 primary school teacher candidates who receive education at the Education Faculty of two public universities in Istanbul province. As for the data collection tool, the “Self-efficacy towards First Reading-Writing Education Scale” developed by Delican (2016) was employed in this study. As a result of the study, there is not a significant difference between the self-efficacies of the primary school teacher candidates towards first reading-writing education depending on their age. The self-efficacy of the primary school teacher candidates towards first reading-writing education creates a significant difference depending on the gender variable. In the preparation, practice and assessment sub-dimensions and on the scale overall, the self-efficacy of females towards first reading-writing education is higher when compared to males. There is a significant difference depending on the variable of the grade in which the primary school teacher candidates receive an education. The self-efficacy of the primary school teacher candidates who study in the 3<sup>rd</sup> grade towards first reading-writing education is higher when compared to the primary school teacher candidates in the 4<sup>th</sup> grade. There is not a significant difference between the self-efficacy of the primary school teacher candidates towards first reading-writing education depending on the variable of thinking that teaching first reading-writing to primary school first grades is a hard work. The self-efficacy of the primary school teacher candidates who have previously helped their siblings or nephews during the process of learning first reading and writing towards first reading-writing education is higher in regard to the practice and assessment sub-dimensions and the scale overall. It was observed that the self-efficacy of the primary school teacher candidates towards first reading-writing education in regard to the preparation and practice sub-dimensions and the scale overall was high; the self-efficacy of the primary school teacher candidates towards first reading-writing education according to the assessment sub-dimension was at a quite high level.

This study aims to investigate the prospective teachers' epistemological beliefs and creativity fostering behaviour and changes with the same according to various variables. The study was designed based on the relational survey model. The sample of the research consisted of 420 prospective teachers. For the purpose of the study, the epistemological beliefs scale and creativity fostering teacher index were used as data collection tools. The difference between the epistemological beliefs and creativity fostering teacher index sub-dimensions according to gender, programme and university variables was examined by "Multivariate Variance Analysis MANOVA". As a result of the research, the prospective teachers' epistemological belief and creativity fostering behaviour were found to be average. However, when the changes in the sub-dimensions of epistemological belief scale according to gender and university variables were examined, the effect of both variables was significant. The changes in epistemological beliefs according to the class and education programme were not significant. There was also no significant difference in sub-dimensions of creativity fostering teacher index scales according to gender and programme and class and programme.

The aim of this study is to determine the anxiety levels of the students studying in the teaching departments and to examine these according to different variables. The sample of the study consisted of 400 non-random sampling methods and 400 prospective teachers who were studying at Dumlupinar University. The personal information form created by the researchers and the data related to the pre-service teachers' concerns about the teaching profession were provided by Caba and Yalçınalp (2009). In the research findings: “Gender”, “Age”, “Satisfaction Status”, “Class”, “Faculty” and “Sports Making Status” showed a significant difference in “OAST” total scores (p <0.05). Çalışmada oluşturulan demografik bilgi formu ve öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik kaygılarına ilişkin veriler Cabı ve Yalçınalp (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Öğretmen Adaylarına Yönelik Mesleki Kaygı Ölçeği (ÖAYMK) ile sağlanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde; betimsel istatistik yöntemler, Man Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis testlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularında: “Cinsiyet”, “Yaş”, “Okuduğu Bölümden Memnun Olma Durumu”, “Sınıf”, “Fakülte” ve “Spor Yapma Durumu” göre “ÖAYMK” toplam puanlarında manidar farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya gore, öğretmen adaylarının meslekleri ile ilgili kaygı seviyelerinin değişkenlere göre farklılaştığı sonucuna varılabilir.

In this study; the effects of Lego Mindstorms projects on problem solving skills and scientific creativity of teacher candidates were. The study group consisted of 20 pre-service science teachers. The data were collected quantitatively and qualitatively. Problem solving and scientific creativity  test were used as quantitative data collection instruments. , Teacher Participant Interview was used as qualitative data collection tool. The practice with teacher candidates lasted 9 weeks.  In this process, pre-service teachers learned the software. Then, these teacher candidates were presented with the science problems appropriate to different grade levels and produced solutions to these problems with Lego EV3 Education sets.Results of the study, the participating teacher candidates identified Lego Ev3 Education sets as creative (25.6%), functional (18.7%), educational (20.9%), developmental (20.9%) and informative (13.9%). As a result of the projects carried out with the Lego Ev3 education sets, the problem solving skills and scientific creativity of the prospective teachers developed.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetBu çalışmada; Lego Mindstorms projelerinin öğretmen adaylarının problem çözme becerilerine ve bilimsel yaratıcılıklarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Fen Bilgisi 3.sınıf öğrencisi 20 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada nicel ve nitel veriler toplanmıştır. Nicel veri toplama araçları olarak problem çözme envanteri ve bilimsel yaratıcılık testi kullanılmıştır. Nitel veri toplama aracı olarak da öğretmen görüş anketi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulama süreci 9 hafta sürmüştür. Bu süreçte önce öğretmen adayları yazılımı öğrenmiştir. Sonra bu öğretmen adaylarına farklı sınıf düzeylerine uygun fen problemleri sunulmuş ve bu problemlere Lego EV3 Education setleri ile çözüm üretmişlerdir.Çalışmanın sonuçları, araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının Lego Ev3 Education setlerini: yaratıcı (%25.6), işlevsel (%18.7), eğitimde uygulanabilir (%20.9), gelişimsel (%20.9) ve bilgiyi uygulayabilir (%13.9) olarak tanımladıklarını ortaya çıkarmıştır. Lego Ev3 education setleri ile yapılan projeler sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının problem çözme becerileri ve bilimsel yaratıcılıkları gelişmiştir.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to understand how to develop closer partnership ties among university education faculty and local high school teachers. This study consisted of a university-based teacher education faculty and a high school social studies teacher co-teaching controversial topics using interactive student-centered approaches at a high school in the southeastern United States. Design/methodology/approach A qualitative design included data sources from lesson plans, student assignments and the co-teacher’s reflection process. The theoretical frame integrates reflective practice, culturally relevant teaching and Zeichner’s hybrid space. Findings The findings of this research identified best practices for an effective co-teaching partnership between university-based teacher education faculty and social studies high school teachers. Originality/value The significance and practical implications are to develop partnerships to promote effective teaching.

Abstract—This research was conducted in 2018 to determine the opinions of prospective teachers about the usability of Web 2.0 tools in education. Quantitative research method was used in the research. The research was conducted in the spring term of 2018–2019. The study group consisted of prospective teachers studying at the faculties of education of the foundation university. 114 prospective teachers participated in the study. The data collection tool called Son The Problems of the Last Year Students of the Faculty of Education and Their Problems in Teaching Practice gelistiril developed by Aylin Demirhan and Meryem Yakut was applied to the teacher candidates. The data were collected by the researchers. The collected data were analysed using the SPSS program. To analyse the data obtained from the data collection tool, frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, T-test and analysis of variance applied. According to the results of the study, prospective teachers’ opinions about the use of Web 2.0 tools are highly positive. It is thought that the students' ability to create content with active participation, support social interaction, and creativity in educational environments, and it is seen in the results of the research that the prospective teachers reported positive opinions. Web 2.0 tools are thought to have a positive effect on learning due to their rich content and may be useful in increasing the prospective teachers' communicative abilities with their common workspaces. Therefore, it is predicted that teachers' use of Web 2.0 tools in their courses will contribute to the development of prospective teachers. In addition, it is thought that the training to be provided by educators who have an important role in guiding prospective teachers and guiding them for a better education will enable prospective teachers to use Web 2.0 tools more frequently and efficiently.

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of teacher candidates regarding the use of museums in social studies lessons as an educational environment. The study group of the research was determined through purposeful sampling method. The study group consists of 114 teacher candidates studying in the social sciences teaching department at the education faculty of a public university during the 2019-2020 academic year. In this case study, a personal information form and an open-ended question form developed by the researcher were used as data collection tools. The data obtained from the answers given by teacher candidates to the data collection tools were analysed by using content analysis method. When the research results were examined in general, it was seen that Social Studies Teacher Candidates mostly explained the benefits that using museums as an educational environment were “ensuring permanent learning”, “enabling students to learn better by seeing/living” and “providing information about the past”. According to another result obtained from the research, Social Studies Teacher Candidates based the problems that they might face while using museums as an educational environment on “the possibility that students may give harm to historical documents and objects”, “financial impossibilities” and “difficult to control the classroom”.

The purpose of this research was to review the assertiveness levels of elite level athletes who study in İstanbul Aydın University and play different sports. For this purpose, the survey model was used in the study. A total of 121 students including 36 female (age average x=20,11±1,83) and 85 male (age average x=20,34±2,47) volunteered for this study. Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (RAE) that was developed by A.S Rathus (1973) was used as data collection tool to determine the assertiveness levels of participants (Voltan 1980). Adaption works for Turkish of this schedule was performed by Nilüfer Voltan Acar (1980). Independent T-test and One Way ANOVA Test in SPSS 24.0 packaged software were used in statistical analyses of the data obtained. It was found at the end of the research that the assertiveness level of 19 students is at timidity level, the assertiveness level of 102 students is at an aggressive level. While there were no statistically significant differences in variables of gender, branch, income level and educational background of the parent; there was found statistically significant difference by evaluation based on age ranges.
