The article presents the questionnaire measuring job satisfaction - an individual’s subjective attitude based on perception, emotional response and cognitive assessment of his/her professional activities and climate in his/her organization. The method contains the list of 38 statements concerning the professional sphere; respondents should rate them with a 5-point scale from “completely satisfied” to “absolutely dissatisfied”. The questionnaire was tested with the sample of 135 people from different professional areas, aged 20 to 62, including 90 women. Factor analysis confirmed the structural components of job satisfaction organised into the questionnaire subscales: resourcefulness of the professional environment, organization of a work processes, work-life balance, social value of work, professional self-realization. The obtained quantitative results met the criteria of normal distribution and had a high degree of internal consistency. Scores and the overall indicator of job satisfaction did not depend on age and correlated closely with professional self-realization, the balance of various life spheres, burnout symptoms and work involvement. There were differences in the component structure of job satisfaction for different genders: women assessed significantly higher their balance of professional and non-professional life spheres. Three groups were composed depending on the respondents’ desire to resign or change jobs (absent desire, sometimes, often). The comparative analysis of these groups showed that job satisfaction was a reliable predictor of the probability of jobs changing; here, the balance of life spheres was especially indicative. The questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool, recommended for use in research and practical work. It allows assessing employees’ current experiences about their professional position, gives a fairly complete picture of job satisfaction, concluding about personal and professional adaptation, as well as identifying the most relevant areas of psychological interventions and organizational changes. The construction of test norms must take into account the specifics of the profession and the conditions of a particular organizational environment.

In time the environmental conditions could damage textiles (materials/ artifacts) causing the need to develop better non-destructive or at least micro-destructive analysis techniques of the samples. There are ethnographic textile artifacts that were treated in the past with various pesticides, that have not been mentioned in any document. These are often re-treated with chemicals by museum staff as a method of preventing pest infestation. Due to the progressive use of many pesticides, this paper was focused on the detection and quantification of three pesticides: malathion, methoxychlor, and permethrin (cis- and trans- isomers). Gas chromatography is one of the most widely used analytical techniques for characterizing volatile organic compounds and therefore was the analytical method of choice for the present study. Because these analytes are found at trace levels, the detection and quantification limits of analytes are very small and it is necessary to optimize and validate a SIM method - that allows the mass spectrometer to detect specific compounds with high sensitivity. In SIM mode, the instrument is set to collect data at selected masses of interest, thus increasing the accuracy and precision of the quantitative results. The present paper is aimed to develop this type of method with specificity and selectivity, high precision (expressed in terms of repeatability and intermediate accuracy), accuracy, suitable working range and linearity, and high degree of series homogenity.

Background and Objectives: Research into rates of burnout and job satisfaction among family medicine residency coordinators is nonexistent. Coordinators play a pivotal role in medical education, sometimes have multiple roles and titles, and often work in stressful environments. The goals of this study were to explore the prevalence of, and relationship between, burnout and job satisfaction among family medicine residency coordinators. Methods: This national wellness study involved 307 family medicine residency coordinators. Modified questions of the Professional Quality of Life Scale, Version 5 were used to measure participants’ burnout and job satisfaction rates. The authors used chi-square tests, Pearson’s r correlations, and multiple linear regression to analyze the data. Results: The response rate was 72% (307/429), with 24% of family medicine residency coordinators reporting high, 51% reporting moderate, and 26% reporting low rates of work-related burnout. Twenty-eight percent of the family medicine residency coordinators reported high, 46% moderate, and 26% low job satisfaction. There was a significantly negative relationship between job satisfaction and work-related burnout, r (306)=-.638, P<0.001. Regression explained 42% of variance in job satisfaction, and showed that burnout (β=-.62) and years on the job (β=.15) were significant predictors of job satisfaction (R=0.64; F [5, 277]=40.28, P<.001). Conclusions: The results demonstrate that family medicine residency coordinators are generally satisfied with their work and reported moderate to high degree of burnout rates.

Aim/Purpose: This study forms part of the World IT Project, which aims to gain a deeper understanding of individual, personal and organisational factors influencing IT staff in a modern, work environment. The project also aims to provide a global view that complements the traditional American/Western view. The purpose of this study is to investigate and report on some of these factors, in particular, the role that job satisfaction has in turnover intention (i.e., changing jobs within the IT industry) and turn-away intention (i.e., moving to another industry other than IT) in South Africa. Background: Several studies have reported on the importance of an employee’s job satisfaction to organisation success, and the various factors that influence it. Most studies on job satisfaction adopted a Westernised and not a global view. Very few empirical studies have been conducted on job satisfaction of IT workers in South Africa. This paper reports on the individual, personal and organisational factors that influence the job satisfaction of IT staff in South Africa. Methodology: The study uses statistical analysis of survey data acquired through the World IT Project. Both online and paper based questionnaires were used. A sample size of 301 respondents was obtained from the survey, which was conducted over a period of 6 months during 2017. The factors that influence IT job satisfaction were analysed using correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and discriminant analysis. The factors investigated were employee and organisational demographics, aspects of occupational culture, and various job-related individual issues. Contribution: This paper presents the only study focused specifically on turnover and turn-away intention amongst IT staff in South Africa. The final proposed model, grounded in the empirical dataset, clearly shows job satisfaction as a strong mediating construct explaining most of the variance in the IT professional’s intention to leave the organisation (i.e. their turnover intention) and the industry (i.e. their turn-away intention). Findings: The findings revealed that there was a significant correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention as well as between job satisfaction and turn-away intention of IT staff. Perceived professional self-efficacy, strain and experience were also highly correlated with turnover intention. Professional self-efficacy was also significantly correlated with turn-away intention. Based on the analyses that were conducted, a research model is presented that shows the relationships between the various antecedents of turnover and turn-away intention. Recommendations for Practitioners: Managers in organisations dealing with the shortage of IT skills can use the model to plan interventions to reduce IT staff turnover rates by focussing on addressing the identified individual issues such as strain, job (in)security and work load as well as the personal value and IT occupational culture issues. Recommendation for Researchers: Researchers in the field of IT staff recruitment and management can find value for their research in the proposed refined model of IT job satisfaction and turnover intention. Future research could possibly replicate the study in other countries or could focus on different factors. Impact on Society: IT skills play a crucial role in society today and are therefore in high demand. However, this demand is not being satisfied by the current rate of supply. Research into what factors influence IT staff to leave the organisation or the industry can assist managers with improving their employee relations and job conditions so as to reduce this turnover and increase organisations’ and society’s competitiveness and economic growth. Future Research: It would be interesting to determine if the findings are similar for a sample of smaller organisations and/or younger IT employees since this study focussed on larger organisations and more experienced staff. Future research could also compare the findings of South African organisations with those in other countries.

Introduction. The most important task of modern education is to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth and for the implementation of self-realization. The main approaches to the study of the concept of selfrealization are outlined. The results of a survey of future teachers of the Russian language are presented. The ideas of future teachers of the Russian language in relation to their professional self-realization are revealed. Material and methods. The study was conducted on the basis of the analysis of theoretical sources on the problem of self-realization and the results of a survey of students of the philological faculty. The author’s questionnaire consisted of 3 open-ended questions and 4 closed-ended questions. Results and discussion. Various approaches to understanding these concepts are analyzed and their own position on this issue is substantiated. According to the results of the survey, it was found that 15% of 3-year students and 55% of 4-year students are sure that professional self-realization implies continuous improvement in the chosen profession and the need for improvement. The needs arising for future teachers of the Russian language during pedagogical practice, which is a key link between the theoretical training of future teachers of the Russian language and their independent work in an educational institution, are characterized. Conclusion. Self-actualization is understood as a tendency to self-realization. And self-realization is a process of personality development, involving active cooperation with other people, the application of one’s own efforts. It is revealed that the pedagogical practice is a critical point in the formation of the future teacher of the Russian language. Before practice, the main difficulties for students are self-doubt and lack of knowledge in the field of methodological disciplines. After teaching practice, the lack of free time among teachers of the Russian language and the high intensity of work become the basic barriers for self-realization for students. This makes future teachers of the Russian language doubt their further professional activities. The question arises of the psychological and pedagogical support of students during practice.

The readiness of the teaching staff of higher educational institutions for teaching and psychological and pedagogical support of students with disabilities is being considered. We emphasize that the personnel of the educational organization need special competence to work with persons with disabilities of various nosological groups. The issues of creating an accessible environment in the university were studied, the readiness of teachers to apply special educational technologies in the training of students with disabilities, to develop teaching and methodological materials; the ability to establish pedagogically appropriate relationships with students, and provide psychological and pedagogical support in matters of personal and professional self-determination. The results show a high degree of importance of special professional competencies for inclusive education. But, at the same time, teachers assess their own level of preparedness with students with disabilities as insufficient, which allowed to determine the main areas of work.
