SynBioSys Europe — an European biological information system

Information systems give new perspectives for vegetation science as well as for management and evaluation of biodiversity on species, community and landscape levels. Information system SynBioSys Europe was initiated by the working group «European Vegetation Survey» of the International Association for Vegetation Science. This project is coordinated by Alterra research institute in Wageningen, the Netherlands. SynBioSys Europe is aimed to integrate information on plant species, plant communities and landscapes of Europe. Different environmental institutions, nature conservation agencies and organizations can exchange information and to share an interpretation of research results both in national and European scale. The system will function as a network of databases operated through a web-server. Researchers will have access to common databases; they can verify their data and solve some scientific problems. The application of GIS-technologies will provide visualization of data on plant species, vegetation and landscapes.

22-26 March 2007 in Rome (Italy), in the Botanical garden of the University «La Sapienza» hosted the 16th meeting of the Working group «Review of the Vegetation of Europe» of the International Association of Vegetation Science (IAVS). These meetings are held every spring in one of the European countries and dedicated to various topics.

6-9 April 2011 in Rome (Italy), University «La Sapienza», the anniversary (20th) meeting of the Working group «Review of the vegetation of Europe» (EVS) of the International Association of vegetation science (IAVS). The main topics discussed at the meeting were «The Study of vegetation, data analysis, information systems and their use», the special session was entirely devoted to the study of boreal vegetation.

9-11 April 2013, Rome (Italy) at the University "La Sapienza" hosted the 22nd meeting of the Working group "review of the vegetation of Europe" (EVS) of the International Association of vegetation science (IAVS). Annual meeting of the European geobotanical was devoted to discussion of research results in two areas — the study of the vegetation of saline habitats and the protection of phytocenoses and the creation of the Red book of plant communities.

21st meeting of the Working group «review of the vegetation of Europe» (European Vegetation Survey, EVS abbreviation) International Association of vegetation science (IAVS) held in Vienna (Austria) from 24 to 27 may 2012. It was dedicated to 3 areas: 1) vegetation databases and large-scale classification; 2) biogeographical divisions of vegetation; 3) vegetation and global warming. May 26, in conjunction with meetings of EVS hosted the 11th meeting of the German working group of vegetation databases (German Working Group on Vegetation Databases). Both events were organized by the Vienna University, and was in its main building, in the hall «Kleiner Festsaal».

Flash floods are among the most dangerous natural disasters. As climate change and urbanization advance, an increasing number of people are at risk of flash floods. The application of remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) technologies in the study of flash floods has increased significantly over the last 20 years. In this paper, more than 200 articles published in the last 20 years are summarized and analyzed. First, a visualization analysis of the literature is performed, including a keyword co-occurrence analysis, time zone chart analysis, keyword burst analysis, and literature co-citation analysis. Then, the application of remote sensing and GIS technologies to flash flood disasters is analyzed in terms of aspects such as flash flood forecasting, flash flood disaster impact assessments, flash flood susceptibility analyses, flash flood risk assessments, and the identification of flash flood disaster risk areas. Finally, the current research status is summarized, and the orientation of future research is also discussed.

The stock exchange represents the key institution for the development of capital market of any country. Thus the information system of every stock exchange must satisfy very strict international standards. The development of these systems is particularly difficult in countries in transition, due to intense economic and legal changes, lack of technical and financial resources, lack of experience and knowledge in the area of the capital market business, etc. Therefore the special software project management methodology for their realization must be clearly defined. In the development process of the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BSE) information system a new software project management methodology for its realization has been defined, the application of which is illustrated through a series of different development stages of the Belgrade Stock Exchange information system. In order to make all the problems more comprehensive, only the continuous trading method is described, being the most frequently used trading method in the world.

AbstrakBelakangan ini hampir seluruh universitas yang ada di indonesia memiliki sistem informasi alumninya sendiri-sendiri. Sistem informasi alumni mampu memberikan informasi tentang kondisi alumninya setelah menyelesaikan masa perkuliahannya. Alumni merupakan aktor yang berperan penting dalam pendidikan. Saat ini jurusan Informatika Fakultas Teknik Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang telah memiliki website alumni. Permasalahannya belum adanya sistem yang memberikan alumni rekomendasi grup pada sistem, sehingga para alumni mampu saling bertukar informasi didalamnya. Dengan adanya data alumni dan juga di dukung dengan adanya tracer study, dapat di bentuk suatu rekomendasi grup dari data tracer study. K-medoid adalah metode pengelompokan data ke  dalam  sejumlah cluster  tanpa  adanya  struktur  hirarki antara satu dengan yang lainnya. Algoritma k-medoid memiliki nilai coefficient yang lebih tinggi di bandingkan dengan k-means dalam penelitian ini. Yang mana k-medoid mendapatkan nilai rata-rata Silhouette Score 0.7325888099 dalam pengujian dengan jumlah cluster 5 dan perulangan sebanyak 10 kali. Jika dibandingkan dengan k-means yang hanya memiliki nilai rata-rata Silhouette Score 0.6872873866.AbstractLately, Almost all universities in Indonesia have their own alumni information systems. The alumni information system is able to provide information about the condition of its alumni after collage graduation. Alumni are actors who play important role in education. Currently, the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang has an alumni website.  The problem is the absence of system that gives alumni group recommendation on the system, so that alumni are able to exchange information in this website. With the alumni data and also supported by the existence of a tracer study, it can be formed as group recommendation from the data tracer study. Clustering is one of tools in data mining that aims to group object into clusters. K-medoid is a method of grouping data into a number of clusters without hierarchical structure from one another. The k-medoid algorithm has higher coefficient value compared to k-means in this study. This K-medoid gets an average value of Silhouette Score 0.7325888099 in testing with the number of clusters 5 and repetitions 10 times. When compared with k-means which only has an average value of Silhouette Score 0.6872873866.

This article addresses biomedical forms of racial targeting under neoliberal biopolitics. We explore two racial targeting technologies: The development of race-based pharmaceuticals, specifically BiDil; and medical hot spotting, a practice that uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies and spatial profiling to identify populations that are medically vulnerable in order to facilitate preemptive care. These technologies are ostensibly deployed under neoliberal biopolitics and the governance of health to affirm life. We argue, however, that these efforts further subject racial minorities—and specifically black subjects—to the cost–benefit logics of neoliberalism in the U.S. health care system and enduring anti-blackness. What is called for is an abolitionist biomedicine that recognizes and seeks to challenge the multifarious ways that race is ontologized as a corporeal and/or spatial truth while attending to the very real embodied effects of structural racism.
