The aim of the work. To establish the features of clinical manifestations and pathomorphology of gastric mucosa in Hp - associated chronic gastritis in adolescents, depending on the genetic characteristics of Hp. Patients and methods. In 133 adolescents with Hp-associated gastritis, polymerase chain reaction was used to determine the presence of pathogenicity factors in the HP genome. Results. In 60,9% of cases, highly pathogenic strains of Helicobacter pylori containing genes Cag (A, C, E, F, H, M, T), UreB, UreI, VacAs1, IceA, BabA, hpaA, AlpB and OipA are detected. Conclusion. The presence of highly pathogenic strains of Hp does not affect the clinical manifestations of gastritis, but is associated with high rates of contamination, increased inflammation, the appearance of signs of atrophy of the gastric mucosa.

Objective. To evaluate the effect of the genetic characteristics of Helicobacter pylori on the nature of pathomorphological disorders in the gastric mucosa in chronic Hp-associated gastritis in young people. Material and methods. Forty-two adults (25 men and 17 women) aged 19 to 40 years with Hp-associated chronic gastritis were examined. The severity and activity of inflammation, as well as the presence of atrophy and intestinal metaplasia were determined in gastrobioptates. Genetic typing of Hp was performed for 16 pathogenicity factors of infect: CagA, CagM, CagT, CagH, CagC, CagF, CagE, VacAs1 and As2, IceA, Baba; HpaA; OipA, AlpB; UreB and UreI using polymerase chain reaction. Results. Pathogenic Hp strains were detected in 59.5 % of patients. Factors of adhesion HpaA (83.3 %), OipA (81 %), and AlpB (83.3 %) were identified with the highest frequency. In 57.1 % of cases, cytotoxin of the Cag group was detected, and 54.8 % of patients had a positive CagA-status. The VacA S1 allele was registered in 73.8 %, VacA S2 in 4.8 %, IceA in 38.1 %, and BabA in 45.2 % of cases. The presence of Hp strains in the gastric mucosa, which have three or more pathogenicity island genes, significantly increases the severity and activity of the inflammatory process, revealing signs of moderate atrophy of the digestive tract and intestinal metaplasia. Conclusions. Colonization of the gastric mucosa in young patients with Hp-associated chronic gastritis by highly pathogenic Hp strains leads to severe violations of its morphology.

The literature review highlights the questions of the interaction of Helicobacter pylori and the human body. Modern data on the structure of the pathogenicity island in the Helicobacter pylori genome are presented. There is given a detailed description of both well-known virulence and pathogenicity factors of the infection (genes encoding the formation of urease subunits, in particular urel, cytotoxin associated gene A, vacuolating cytotoxin gen A, blood group associated binding adhesion, induced by contact with epithelium) and less studied ones (sialic acid-binding adhesion, adhesion-associated lipoprotein A and B, adhesin gene of Helicobacter pylori, Hp outer membrane protein). The significance of individual genes and proteins encoded by them in the development of chronic inflammatory process in diseases of the upper digestive tract, as well as in ulcer and carcinogenesis is analyzed. Mechanisms of interaction of bacteria with epithelial cells of the gastric mucosa, adhesive and cytotoxic effects of Helicobacter pylori, factors of biofilm formation are described. The influence of the genetic structure of Infect on cytological composition of the gastric glands in the form of reduction of specialized glandular cells chief and parietal cells of pyloric glands and the increase of endocrine cells in the pool is assessed. It is shown that colonization of the gastric mucosa by highly pathogenic strains of Helicobacter pylori contributes to the development of widespread pronounced and active inflammation in it, the appearance of morphological signs of atrophy. The role of the genetic characteristics of the infection in the failure of anti-helicobacter therapy is emphasized. Separately, the question of the effect of combined infection of the gastric mucosa with highly pathogenic strains of Helicobacter pylori and Epstein-Barr virus is highlighted.

Abstract Background Blastocystis is one of the most common intestinal parasites in humans and various animals worldwide. Few studies are available regarding the genetic characterization of Blastocystis infections in humans in China. Methods In the present study, 609 fecal samples were collected from two- to six-year-old kindergarten children in southern Xinjiang and were examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results The infection rate of Blastocystis was 14.3% (87/609); no significant difference was observed among counties and between sexes. Blastocystis subtypes ST1 (n = 38), ST2 (n = 8), and ST3 (n = 41) were identified by sequence analysis of the small subunit ribosomal RNA gene. Genetic polymorphisms were observed at the intra-subtype level, including seven variations for ST1 (ST1A to ST1G), four for ST2 (ST2A to ST2D), and two for ST3 (ST3A and ST3B); with ST1F and ST2B being new variations. Conclusions ST1 and ST3 are the two common Blastocystis subtypes in the study area. More extensive studies in both humans and animals in different regions are needed to better characterize the transmission of Blastocystis.

Introduction. Many key questions regarding the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and treatment of chronic gastritis remain open. So, despite the success of chronic gastritis pharmacotherapy, much attention is paid to non-drug methods of therapy, in particular, osteopathy. However, evidences of the osteopathic methods effectiveness for the chronic gastritis treatment, obtained by objective instrumental methods, are insufficiently presented in the modern literature. The goal of research — to study the results of osteopathic correction inclusion in the complex therapy of patients with chronic gastritis.Materials and methods. The study involved 50 patients with chronic gastritis, divided by simple randomization into a control group (25 people) and a main group (25 people). The participants in the control group received standard eradication therapy according to a three-component scheme. The participants of the main group additionally received osteopathic correction. In both groups, at the beginning and at the end of the study, there were performed fibroesophagogastroduodenoscopy with targeted biopsy to assess the gastric mucosa state, Helicobacter pylori identification, and intragastric pH-metry to assess gastric juice acidity.Results. According to the study results, a statistically significant (p<0,05) decrease in edema and hyperemia of gastric mucosa was found in the control and main groups. There was a statistically significant (p<0,001) decrease in gastric aciditywith osteopathic accompaniment, compared with unaccompanied drug treatment. In both groups, there was a statistically significant (p<0,05) decrease in the incidence of Helicobacter pylori carriage. Conclusion. Based on the obtained results, it can be assumed that an integrated approach using osteopathic correction in the treatment of chronic gastritis may be more effective than the standard course of treatment.

Tombusvirus-like associated RNAs (tlaRNAs) are positive-sense single-stranded RNAs found in plants co-infected with some viruses of the genus Polerovirus. Pod pepper vein yellows virus (PoPeVYV) was recently reported as a new recombinant polerovirus causing interveinal yellowing, stunting, and leaf rolling in Capsicum frutescens plants at Wenshan city, Yunnan province, China. The complete genome sequence of its associated RNA has now been determined by next-generation sequencing and reverse transcription (RT) polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PoPeVYV-associated RNA (PoPeVYVaRNA) (GenBank Accession No. MW323470) has 2970 nucleotides and is closely related to other group II tlaRNAs, particularly tobacco bushy top disease-associated RNA (TBTDaRNA, GenBank Accession No. EF529625). In infection experiments on Nicotiana benthamiana and C. frutescens plants, synergism between PoPeVYVaRNA and PoPeVYV was demonstrated, leading to severe interveinal yellowing of leaves and stunting of plants. The results provide further information on the genetic and biological properties of the various agents associated with pepper vein yellows disease (PeVYD).

Porcine sapelovirus (PSV) belongs to the genus Sapelovirus of the family Picornaviridae. PSV infects pigs asymptomatically, but it can also cause severe neurologic, enteric, and respiratory symptoms or reproductive failure. Sapelovirus infections have been reported worldwide in pigs. The objective of this study was to investigate the presence and the prevalence of PSV in Italian swine farms in animals of different ages to clarify the occurrence of the infection and the genetic characteristics of circulating strains. In the present study, 92 pools of fecal samples, collected from pigs across three farms, were analyzed by Reverse Transcriptase-polymerase Chain Reaction-PCR (RT-PCR). Fecal pools from young growers (63/64) were found positive for Sapelovirus in all farms while detection in sows (4/28) was observed in only one farm. Phylogenetic analyses of the 19 partial capsid protein nucleotide sequences (VP1) (6–7 each farm) enable the classification of the virus sequences into three distinct clades and highlighted the high heterogeneity within one farm. The whole genome sequence obtained from one strain showed the highest correlation with the Italian strain detected in 2015. The study adds novel information about the circulation and heterogeneity of PSV strains in Italy and considering the movement of pigs across Europe would also be informative for other countries.

Avian pox diseases are contagious and slow spreading viral infections in birds. The present study was aim to, isolate and molecular characterization of turkeypox virus from a clinical case. Ten out of the twelve scab lesions sample collected from clinically suspected cases were positive for avian pox viurs (APV) based on virus isolation and polymerase chain reaction. We conducted genetic characterization of the APV strain. The phylogenetic analyses of P4b gene APV genome indicated that, avian poxviruses fragments sequenced in this study clustered along the A clade of avipoxviruses, genetically related to Indian fowl pox virus isolated from chicken, showing 99% homology.
